Brody got incredible crowd reaction anywhere around the world! When he would storm down the ring breathing heavy and having the whole crowd mimic "humph, humph, humph!!!!", his opponents had to know they were about to be in a world of pain! No one from todays era could go toe to toe with the brawling unpredictable style of Brody or deal with the technical expertise of Jumbo Tsuruta. 2 all time legends right here!!
@bladestormviking You HAD to know how to legitimately wrestle if you were an American in Japan in those days. Even if brawling was your style. Because you never knew when a Japanese wrestler would get a hair up his ass about having to make a gaijin look good and shoot on you. You had to be able to defend yourself. That's what Terry Funk said in his WONDERFUL book "More Than Just Hardcore."
@brnleague99 which is why Harley always liked to go with the NWA champion on japanese tours. "just in case they get an idea about trying something"... i heard this from flair, harley and several others from that era.
@bladestormviking In 1971, Dory Funk Jr. had a match with Antonio Inoki...and it was KNOWN that Inoki was about to found New Japan and leave the company so everyone was afraid Inoki was going to "stiff" Dory in the ring (stop cooperating). Terry said, "I was ringside, ready to punt Inoki's head like a football in case he went South on Junior." Good story that.
This was when Japanese wrestling was at it's greatest. Before Misawa and Kobashi ruined it. Now it's all a spot fest of ridiculous looking, overly dangerous moves and guys too obviously letting each other hit each other as hard as possible. I for one find no enjoyment in guys hurting each other in non-competition for entertainment! Wrestlers should take care of each other & themselves while TELLING A STORY. Very few know how to do that these days.
I guess you're a dim wit asshat as well. Saying the two most decorated wrestlers in history ruined anything is feeble and flat out fuckin stupid. Agreeing with it is epic dumb cunt. Thats the point, which you prove in spades you sperm burping cock guzzler.
Excellent match btwn 2 great wrestlers who are gone, but never forgotten.
BTW,what's up with Brody's entrance music. You'd think that a promotion like All-Japan could at least give him the actual version of Immigrant Song by Zepplin instead of that lame-ass Elevator muszak version.
Did Jumbo just win the title on a count-out?

it's kind of funny to think how many people don't know that Brody could trade holds and WRESTLE like this.

kobashi and misawa ruined it? Hang yourself you ingrateful cunt.

I won't argue with you. Arguing over the internet is sorta like The Special Olympics; even if you win, you're still retarded.
But, it's my opinion for the reasons stated very intelligently above.
Not that your "ingrateful cunt" line wasn't brilliant. I will always remember it. And for that, I am neither "ingrateful" nor ungrateful.
