I still play this now a lot, its such a fucking great tune. I put this in the same bracket as Piper, The One, The Beginning, The Nine, Stomp and Hard Noize as tracks you can drop now and still get a massive reactions from.
@Realcomptoncityg Shit man I forgot about 2 degrees, and also now I think of it Terorrist! Man too many good tunes from back them, Shadows Boxing anyone? Champion Sound, Turbuence to name a few more! lol.
Tonight i was in Your party in Norwich.... Waterfront.... was cool... i`m not dancing since 8 years to d&b...Is this the new electronic music trend in UK...or Is it just an old-school fassion? i hope the first !!! Was good enough
We won´t shape the future - flying saucers will come and bass the world! And they will start playing this track to eliminate all music except DnB. Hail the saucers!!!!
im so glad ive got the tin! this tune is an ALL TIMER, untouchable really, even 14 years or so on, i must have listened to this about 5000000000 times in my life, and im still not bored....
I COULD'NT AGREE MORE. I REMEMBER KENNY KEN CHAMPIONING THIS ON THE DREAMSCAPE 28 TAPE BACK IN 98 - THIS TUNE IS AWSOME AND DNB HAS GOT S**T NOW. NO MELODY'S ANYMORE, TUNES ARE NO LONGER TUNES AND JUST NOISE. I BLAME 3 MEN FROM AUSTRALIA THAT GO BY THE OUTFIT OF PENDELUM. THEY TOOK THE PISS OUT OF OUR SCENE BACK IN 03 WITH THAT VAULT TRACK AND NOW LOOK THEY ARE DOING THE BAND THING AGAIN.F**K OFF BACK TO AUSYOU PR*ICKS!!!
@JACKPOTS81 Couldn't agree with you more. They killed DnB stone dead and their now making a career out of remixing the smae tune over and over again with a shit beat that can't even be called any thing like jungle or dnb. They need to go study the likes of roni size, dillinjah or this dude optical and his running partner Ed Rush.
@#$%! This was in the metalheadz box set?! I have the CD version and the Vinyl from way back and I don't remember anything this gnarly. Must dig out again.
@optimuscarn ive travelled along way to come to the dreamscape.............. scene. so right about now were gona take this one from the T.O.P kenny ken launch the rocket.
@babylonjunglist i just listened to alien girl b4 this and it didn't bother me that much. more of that? mmkkayyy LOL. i remember an old set where skibadee goes crazy on this song
Cant believe it was 10 years ago i stumbled upon this great compilation. It was really the cool design the attracted me to having never listened to this style of music. This track in particular blew me away and i became an instant fan of DnB, having been into Metal for years! My tin is looking a bit rusty now but i still play it regularly
another tune that seems to get better n better with every rmx (already happened with "31 seconds", "champion sound"...), the amen mix is a killer bizness, you know?
@GuiltRidden Agree the shit that passes for dnb today is horrible. We need to get back to this dirty, gritty sound once again. All these fuckin new jack kids making tunes at home with ready-made software and overused samples.
@GuiltRidden this was probably THE tune that got me into DnB when i got the metal tin comp. Have to agree with you about going backwards to hear good stuff.
@GuiltRidden with you there, my question goes to ed rush and optical though i mean no-u-turn/prototype/metalheadz days to the stuff out on virus nowadays??? Seriously boys what has happened.
@GuiltRidden I know what your sayin mate but have you heard their new album 'Travel the Galaxy'?(2009),they've gone straight back to the wormhole days('97/98)If you haven't I suggest you listen to it-IT'S FUCKING HARD BODIED,trust me!
gordo i get what your saying!! I like the old stuff but your also right i takes time to search though the shite to find the good tunes!so i have posted the original for you to enjoy
Seems like all the DJs who were really "doing it" back in 96 - All the people who were part of V Recordings - Ganja Kru - Metalheadz - even Good Looking - and all the labels that splintered off of that (Virus, Valve, TruPlayerz)... that whole set... They're STILL doing it right. It's like - they're the ONLY guys doing it right.
I don't include Moving Shadow because I think the MS sound evolved into something that was ultimately very bad for D&B. The whole "anthem" thing... QQ
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
No mate - Andy c championed all there tunes for them until they droped Wormhole & bacteria / gas mask / medicine etc. Andy ran the late 90's
Andy c put them on the map.....This tune was the omly decent tune they had made until Wormhole.Ed Rush & Optical have Trace and Matrix & Fierce to thank aswell for all there help in making there sound.
this tune still ABSOLUTELY MERKS IT, arrrr they just dont make bass and drum like this any more, doubled dropped with jonny l - piper = instant reloaddddddddddddddd
Did you also get into neuro as well? Many agree that this is the track that birthed neuro. It certainly sounds like the matrix splashing past your head as you jack into cyberspace.

clean track. but nothing compared to the original. beats are a bit too generic and boring for my tastes. nothing special here. but the bass is quite good on decent speakers.
i think this i one of the best tracks ever.. i get where your coming from with decent speaker comment tho cause it can sound awful.. gotta think bout what other tracks where out at the time (think this was 96/97).. its way before its time and will always fit into a set.. and those beats are pure optical 3:00 it all comes together..
I think the original is quite good but the remix put it all together. The break is one of my favourite breaks (Brute Force by Roni Size, Kerbkrawler by Ed Rush and Optical etc.)
please. look who you're saying that to. if you had more artistic understanding, maybe you would be more modest. i bought the album this track appears on brand new 8 years ago. personally though opticals produtions from the 90's are all great, i'm not a fan of this kind of beat.
I don't care how special you think you are. I just made a cheeky dig. Nonetheless, a dig I actually believe, else I wouldn't have said it. It isn't arrogant. It is straight up honesty. If you're offended, get off the internet. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Either way, you're not royalty in my eyes.
You can't comment on modesty without being hypocritical. Read your own post. You being a self-proclaimed "guru" or whatever you want to imply, should know that.
Arcon2: I can understand where this dislikeness is coming from because the beats in the original are not only cool but original also. I disagree though with this one. This remix is really well done for my taste. Many remixes suck ass but this one rocks. Also wanted to show some respect to you cause I think you produce some brilliant stuff and your one of the few who didnt sell out. PIECE!
some of te best tunes often seem the simplest but when the main bass hook drops down an octave at 1:52 and then 2:15 it has more impact than some of the most convuluted drops that are trying to hard.
