  • i recommend optical's dub me crazy remix to those who like this..

  • T H E B E S T S O N G E V E R !

  • optical is seriously a dope producer( and engineer) he makes perfect hardcore beats.

  • Made i just tripped an flashback on this, will be the last time ill hear this wtf!

  • Two words are all that is needed.........Wow & Classic.

  • big tune

  • I still play this now a lot, its such a fucking great tune. I put this in the same bracket as Piper, The One, The Beginning, The Nine, Stomp and Hard Noize as tracks you can drop now and still get a massive reactions from.

  • @iiblackoutx mampi swift - the one yes bruv missing dj trend - 2 degrees though

  • @Realcomptoncityg Shit man I forgot about 2 degrees, and also now I think of it Terorrist! Man too many good tunes from back them, Shadows Boxing anyone? Champion Sound, Turbuence to name a few more! lol.

  • @iiblackoutx agreed, there are certain tunes that are timeless and are still relevant today.

  • yes yes !!

  • Tonight i was in Your party in Norwich.... Waterfront.... was cool... i`m not dancing since 8 years to d&b...Is this the new electronic music trend in UK...or Is it just an old-school fassion? i hope the first !!! Was good enough

  • We won´t shape the future - flying saucers will come and bass the world! And they will start playing this track to eliminate all music except DnB. Hail the saucers!!!!

  • jumping jack frost mc fearless helterskelter rollers warehouse this fucker say no more

  • Power track is sick & unique! Excellent!!!

  • loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • im so glad ive got the tin! this tune is an ALL TIMER, untouchable really, even 14 years or so on, i must have listened to this about 5000000000 times in my life, and im still not bored....

  • Selection Personal

  • Pure MONSTER of a track! Optical shaped dnb!

  • Heard this in Bar Rumba London....think 1996 or 97. Dosen't matter, I loved it then and I still do!

  • Massive tune! This track, Medicine and the Shining are the best remixes these guys have ever done!

  • Absolute MONSTER!

  • I COULD'NT AGREE MORE. I REMEMBER KENNY KEN CHAMPIONING THIS ON THE DREAMSCAPE 28 TAPE BACK IN 98 - THIS TUNE IS AWSOME AND DNB HAS GOT S**T NOW. NO MELODY'S ANYMORE, TUNES ARE NO LONGER TUNES AND JUST NOISE. I BLAME 3 MEN FROM AUSTRALIA THAT GO BY THE OUTFIT OF PENDELUM. THEY TOOK THE PISS OUT OF OUR SCENE BACK IN 03 WITH THAT VAULT TRACK AND NOW LOOK THEY ARE DOING THE BAND THING AGAIN.F**K OFF BACK TO AUSYOU PR*ICKS!!!

  • @JACKPOTS81 Couldn't agree with you more. They killed DnB stone dead and their now making a career out of remixing the smae tune over and over again with a shit beat that can't even be called any thing like jungle or dnb. They need to go study the likes of roni size, dillinjah or this dude optical and his running partner Ed Rush.

Big up ! fuck off pendulum

  • Now understand dnb more the OG ftw

  • @Realcomptoncityg It was released in 98,prob doing the circuit long before!peace

  • whats the orignal sound like

  • ed and optical do shape the future

  • best workout music ever

  • Ed Rush & Optical, Dillinja, Goldie, Grooverider, DJ Hype, Alex Reece, etc. THAT's DnB to me. :)

  • 1998 wow these guys were really ahead of their time.

  • BIG

  • This tune makes me wanna sleeze out. Everytime. Love it!

  • i wish i had this tune on vinyl

  • sounds so much like alien girl

  • @babylonjunglist i just listened to alien girl b4 this and it didn't bother me that much. more of that? mmkkayyy LOL. i remember an old set where skibadee goes crazy on this song

  • I'm gonna play this when the aliens land! They're gonna love too!

  • Whenever I start a set wiv this one people go fuckin' mental!! Absolute fuckin' killa track.TIMELESS!!

    5*

  • This makes me want to punch myself in the face. Shame the rest of the tin was so weak. Optical - you are a ledge.

  • Cant believe it was 10 years ago i stumbled upon this great compilation. It was really the cool design the attracted me to having never listened to this style of music. This track in particular blew me away and i became an instant fan of DnB, having been into Metal for years! My tin is looking a bit rusty now but i still play it regularly

  • @pappachook Hahahaha, you KNOW. The rusty tin crew!

  • this tune is the fuckin boom

  • Massive track. Loving it.

  • another tune that seems to get better n better with every rmx (already happened with "31 seconds", "champion sound"...), the amen mix is a killer bizness, you know?

  • heard this one on a mixtape i bought in mannheim back in 1998. lost the tape after a while and still regretting it to this day.

  • punchy compressed low cut kick drum, textbook sick dnb = )

  • This pisses all over the original from a very great height...

Shame that it's almost 2010 and I have to go BACKWARDS to hear good DnB.

    Ed Rush and Optical...RESPECT!!

  • @GuiltRidden Agree the shit that passes for dnb today is horrible. We need to get back to this dirty, gritty sound once again. All these fuckin new jack kids making tunes at home with ready-made software and overused samples.

  • @GuiltRidden this was probably THE tune that got me into DnB when i got the metal tin comp. Have to agree with you about going backwards to hear good stuff.

  • @GuiltRidden you are so right shocking what they call d and b these days bring back the dark days

  • @GuiltRidden whats the orignal sound like

  • @GuiltRidden yh yh u no that man

  • @GuiltRidden AUDIO=PRESPCT!!

  • @GuiltRidden with you there, my question goes to ed rush and optical though i mean no-u-turn/prototype/metalheadz days to the stuff out on virus nowadays??? Seriously boys what has happened.

  • @GuiltRidden I know what your sayin mate but have you heard their new album 'Travel the Galaxy'?(2009),they've gone straight back to the wormhole days('97/98)If you haven't I suggest you listen to it-IT'S FUCKING HARD BODIED,trust me!

  • @nastyc79 I dont understand how people can possibly compare Travel The Galaxy and Wormhole. Theyre completely different!

  • does anyone make drum and bass like this anymore? I don't have time to sort through all the rubbish...

sucks when the music you love gets all dumbed down and reduced to cheesy club-kid tunes

  • gordo i get what your saying!! I like the old stuff but your also right i takes time to search though the shite to find the good tunes!so i have posted the original for you to enjoy

  • Tell me about it.

Seems like all the DJs who were really "doing it" back in 96 - All the people who were part of V Recordings - Ganja Kru - Metalheadz - even Good Looking - and all the labels that splintered off of that (Virus, Valve, TruPlayerz)... that whole set... They're STILL doing it right. It's like - they're the ONLY guys doing it right.

I don't include Moving Shadow because I think the MS sound evolved into something that was ultimately very bad for D&B. The whole "anthem" thing... QQ

  • THIS ONE WILL NEVA DIE!!!

  • seminal!

  • this is seriously huge

  • Oi Suffolk, you are full of shit mate.

    No one listen to him.

    Answer and I'll teach you,,,

  • fucking massive the virus boys ran the late 90's

  • Big tune... I want this Metalheadz album bad.

  • i've got it, suprisingly shilled out most of it

  • I've got it too. This is pretty much the only reason to buy it!

  • yeah, it's kind of like a history lesson though! ruff sampling, pioneering stuff :)

  • seriously i have been looking for this tune since i was 14. i rinsed a JJ Frost tape with Hyper smacking this tune till it snapped.

    Junglists are you reeeady?! BO!

  • hahah still fat to this very day even if its got eksman giving it some SEMI AUTOMATIC..... over it.

  • pure fight music.....banging .woooooooooo

  • This tune got me into jungle/drum n bass!! Got the metalheadz boxset in the pic BIIIG!!!!!

  • Did you also get into neuro as well? Many agree that this is the track that birthed neuro. It certainly sounds like the matrix splashing past your head as you jack into cyberspace.

  • You guy's have no idea just how long i have been looking for this tune.

It was tune's like this that got me into this kinda music in the first place.

Also i hear you about the goosebump's..

    .NUFF RESPECTT

  • bangin tune mate 98 all the way ,stompin on white glovers, there for the music not to look a fuckin clown.

  • nice! 98/99 wer some of the best years of drum n bass,

  • classic big big tune, especially bearing in mind what else was round then, fond memories of this tearing it up

  • VIP mix was bad ass as well. Don't see it on YouTube though unfortunately

  • Tune.

  • what the f**k is legacyofarcon2 going on about. this tune was won of the biggest tunes of 97 and shits on the original. get with it you igit!

  • sicccc tune man hard as phucccc

  • yea i know you said in your video about Dynamic Bass that remix one was not very good, I am just checking the Bass.

  • i think this i one of the best tracks ever.. i get where your coming from with decent speaker comment tho cause it can sound awful.. gotta think bout what other tracks where out at the time (think this was 96/97).. its way before its time and will always fit into a set.. and those beats are pure optical 3:00 it all comes together..

  • I would like to disagree, respectfully of course.

I think the original is quite good but the remix put it all together. The break is one of my favourite breaks (Brute Force by Roni Size, Kerbkrawler by Ed Rush and Optical etc.)

  • If you've listened to it all the way through, and actually have taste, you wouldn't say that.

  • please. look who you're saying that to. if you had more artistic understanding, maybe you would be more modest. i bought the album this track appears on brand new 8 years ago. personally though opticals produtions from the 90's are all great, i'm not a fan of this kind of beat.

  • I don't care how special you think you are. I just made a cheeky dig. Nonetheless, a dig I actually believe, else I wouldn't have said it. It isn't arrogant. It is straight up honesty. If you're offended, get off the internet. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Either way, you're not royalty in my eyes.

You can't comment on modesty without being hypocritical. Read your own post. You being a self-proclaimed "guru" or whatever you want to imply, should know that.

  • Arcon2: I can understand where this dislikeness is coming from because the beats in the original are not only cool but original also. I disagree though with this one. This remix is really well done for my taste. Many remixes suck ass but this one rocks. Also wanted to show some respect to you cause I think you produce some brilliant stuff and your one of the few who didnt sell out. PIECE!

  • =D Hahahahahaha!!!! ............... WHOA!!

  • right on!

  • WOW EH WOW

  • the action break is silly

  • I thought the VIP mix of this track was also unbelieveable! Big up to Optical

  • yeah VIP was sick, big shame it never came out :'(

  • pure fuckin raw

  • some of te best tunes often seem the simplest but when the main bass hook drops down an octave at 1:52 and then 2:15 it has more impact than some of the most convuluted drops that are trying to hard.

  • pitch black

  • Classic !!! If you speed this one up it's game over on he dance floor...Watch the 2nd break...I use to break this with PHANTHOM FORCE .....HARD !!!!

  • when i bought the metalheadz box set it was for this tune. I would have thought the boxset was rare but i see many for sale. shame on anyone that would sell such a classic.

  • I use to and still do love this track ...I grab it for the smae reason too...The hardest track made ......So wavie !!!!

  • yes man all about to shape the future remix!
