  • omg? this music. This is an insult to marie. However good video... but the audio... shame on you!

  • cinverse 2:56 ?

  • I played Material girl on itunes and played the video just so I could watch this video properly :D Loveee it.

  • Can't find it on Vimeo. Link please?

  • Because Diana, Princess of Whales was born as Lady Diana Spencer :)

  • I met someone a few years ago who is related to Georgiana, The Duchess of Devonshire. Because her grand mother was related to Diana, Princess of Whales and I think Diana is Georgiana's great great......whatever times... great grand daughter.

  • @msorlandobloom100 If I'm not mistaken, the person I replied to claimed to be a descendant of Marie Antoinette? Can't tell now for sure cause he/she deleted the comment but anyway, if that was the claim, it would've been impossible cause the 1 child that did survive never had any kids, thereby making it impossible that Marie had anymore descendants beyond that 1 child.

  • @xxxkissbangxxx Was she/ he claiming to be a great grandson/daughter or just relitive, because she did have 15 bothers and sisters, so mabey a veeerrrrrry distant cousin? niece? nephew? I dont know but it wouldnt be impossible, just verry unlikely :)

  • why don't you just switch off the sound of the video and play madonna's song. i've done it and it was great! thank u mpavsweet

  • where is the end?

  • virtually all commoners turned royals these days have become modern marie antoinette, they say that there is a marie antoinette in every woman

just look at Mary of Demnark royal deficit year after year

  • Comment removed

  • @JAMdeathgod18 Are you serious? As far as historians know, she didn't leave any heir meaning she doesn't have any actual descendants. Just sayin.

  • Wait are you talking about Marie Antoinettes kids? Bc she had four and one did survive the revolution... ?

  • @msorlandobloom100 That is true because Marie Therese Charlotte survived the revolution but I don't think she ever had any children.....and I don't if anyone else who was related to Marie Antoinette some how survived and continued the generation......

  • @xxxkissbangxxx Yes, she didn't really leave any heir, at least not from her children. Marie Therese Charlotte had no children and all her others died very young. But maybe someone else who was related to her......there were Marie Antoinette's brothers and sisters.....

  • song name please?

  • YOU IDIOTS READ THE INFO!

(p.s i saw the real video and it was awesome)

  • wtf with this song!

doesnt fit at all!! :S :S!

  • wtf i though this was by Madonna :| just like ruined it

  • Hip Hop and Marie Antoinette...hmmm....

  • agree

  • nie wieder ohne das lied!

  • I may not speak very much German, but I know that you accused this user of lying, which they haven't! Maybe if you learn to speak English, you'd be able to understand what they put in the "Description" Box!

  • 'lied' in german means "song"...

  • Please go find a dictionary or something! 'lied' means song. (Which is pronounced as 'leed') That user said: Not again without the song! Lying is 'lügen". A word may mean this is English, it can be that in an other.

  • Dictionary, don't you mean a translator! You may want to look up the word dictionary in the dictionary! Cause here in the US, dictionary is this book that you look up the meaning of words, in the English form! Translator, is something that you translate English to German, or Dutch!

  • There excist English-German/German-English dictionaries to. :p

  • its a great song!

  • I get a message that I can buy the song from itunes. Is it the original son or the one that's on now?

  • SO WHAT?!?!?

  • omg! what happened to the music!:O:O

  • youtube removed the video for copy rite

music. the original music/video can be found via Vimeo search using user mpavsweet

sorry for the inconvience. will be deleting from here altogether as soon as i've moved all my videos.

  • @mpavsweet I cant find it!!! Can you give a link!!?!

  • where is the original excellent background music ?

  • Excellent!

This movie is just so gorgeoussss!

Love this video it is soo cool!!

  • Well done!!! "And now they're after me!"

  • wheres the marie antoinette music video with Kelly's Shoes?!?!

  • Perfect song for this video :-D Great work!!!

  • great vid, an excellent musical choice

  • Guy Ritchie should have had a glorious carriage made (like the one that Marie rides in from Austria to the French border.. that *detail*!!) for Madonna as a gift to her on her 50th. I just think she'd have a blast having a team of horses (or young bucks who idolize her) pulling her around her grounds. Decadent yet fabulous!

  • Even funnier, Madonna played Marie Antoinette at the MTV Awards when she sung "Vogue".

  • nammyohorengekyolovelovelove

  • 2:57, note the converse shoes!!!!! XD

  • i think this song should of been included in the movie! i think it goes really well with the whole tone and style of the movie!! Love this movie!

  • Usually I don't like movie's amvs but this is so well done and this movie's art is so cartoon-like that seems an anime amv.Beautiful!

  • loved it!!!

  • The guy who she has an affair with is proper hot.

  • yeah :)

  • nice video!

    goes perfectly with the lyrics

  • Very nice *__*!

  • Luv It! It Goes So Well 2gether!

  • great video!

    goes perfectly with the lyrics!

  • bravo! c'est un interpretacion tres magnifique!

...this is a great fan interpretation of such a beautiful film. I love this movie! Merci! 5*+++++

  • Haha. The blue converses at 2:57!!!

  • ohh love it!

  • this is sooo true...nice movie thow!!!

I really loved Kirsten Dunst in that movie!!

  • great edition and choise in music !!!!

  • Beautiful! Excellent editing!

  • Beautiful darling!

  • That is me in my past life!!! lol

  • It's really funny to choice this Madonna's track to underline one part of the Marie-Antoinette's life. The Sofia's sountrack movie is a post-punk,new-wave,indie rock ,not this useless Madonna's s..t. So,Marie-Antoinette was the QUEEN of France, not a "material girl".Don't care if she spent money...History shows than Mrs Mitterrand(a socialist!!!) has spent more French taxpayer money than the Queen! France is dead in 1789...

  • The guy who she has an affair with is gorgeous.

  • Count von Fersen? You know what happened to him in reality? He was caught by an angry mob of people in Stockholm in 1810. The mob kicked and trampled him to death. One sailor jumped on his ribcage until it caved in killing him.

He was 55 years old and was suspected to have poisoned the crown prince of Sweden.

Not a nice way to go, I must say. Poor guy.

Also there's no real evidence she had an affair with him in reality according to historians.

  • Oh my god you up yourslef know it all.

Do you have nothing better to do than sit there and correct people! Look,go and write out your facts and history ELSEWHERE,maybe where its actually wanted?

Your just blocking up space for comments about the VIDEO or movie, which by the way is based on comparing her life to a rockstars..goh.

BTW mpavsweet this video's like, really good lol.I loved this movie .

  • yeah, exactly what xxMEREOxx said...

  • She was waaaay to young and stupid to be Queen. This song fits her perfectly.

  • Nope,it does not. The material girl Madonna sings about didn't really appear until the 1960's and the sexual revolution. Before that women had been servants to their husbands and had little rights compared to men.

The real Marie Antoinette was raised to be a queen and she was a catholic too. She might have spent money on clothes and jewelery but still was a product of the mindset of the era,and as such NOT a "material girl".

  • one of the best Marie Antoinette video on YouTube!!! Great job!! 5 stars! up!

  • Le queda perfecta esta cancion a este gran film; aunque debo admitir que se me hace la peorcita de la buena sophia, pero no por eso es mala.

  • Great video! The song went very well!

  • love this : )

  • great vid!

  • I love her cloths!

  • Mmm I love Kirsten Dunst <3

  • all the shoes im in heaven hahaha xx

  • Great music video. It captures her life so perfectly. Unfortunately M.A. practically raped the French treasury to fund her extravagant lifestyle.

  • Heh heh :) Was that a joke or do you try to seriously claim that Marie Antoinette caused really the financial problems of France (one woman). I can tell you that one woman even with luxurious life style can´t cause big states financial problems. It is simply impossible. She was only good target for revolutionary propaganda. Real problems were elsewhere.

    Antti

  • fuckin righ, gayboy.

  • @GBOY69GAY She behaved very inappropiately even when the people of France were starving, it doesnt matter if she only caused 0.0001% of the financial problems, she was a ruler and once who was suposed to behave like someone who cared about the nation, not a person who lived a luxurious life while her people starved.

  • @GBOY69GAY I agree. It's actually recently been proved that Marie wasn't the blame. She depended on her families large wealth, her mother was the equiv of a trillionaire in them days.

It was actually jealous liberal politicans who used propaganda and the irony is, is it was them who were to blame not Marie. But the peasants were so badly educated that they assumed it was the queen and the propaganda convinced them easily.

  • well done! I love the hats the woman are wearing their so classy and feminine! I would love a hat like that, I'm gratful that my mother knows how to make hats! Maybe, she'll help me make one like the women in the movie! :)

  • This video was extermely well done! It fit the song perfectly. I just made my own 100% fan made video on this hostorical/fiction movie and would love comments or tips on my video.

    -Mia

  • Love it! great job!

  • omg u guys!! check out my page cuz ish all marie antoinette!!

  • very good love it!

  • awesome, u did a good job of capturing marie antoinette's extravagant life!

  • yep,she was a traitor to her own country it has been proven by historians

  • So, what? During this era the country was managed by a popular dictatorship...She wanted to find help with her brother like some French who left the kingdom to fight alongside the Allied.

  • Great video ^^

  • Hah, you are funny.. =) Cyndi Lauper... =)

  • This song fitz the Marie Antoinette perfectly.

    Good job.

  • it sure dose.

  • wrong

  • AH LOL YOURE RIGHT!!!!

  • i luv bein a material girl!!

  • omg...on 2:57 there sum baby blue converse in da background!!

  • lol! your right! thats so funny.

  • Yeah, they wanted to put that their because it shows that not matter what, Marie Antoinette was still just a normal teenager.

  • i luv the vid!! i saw da movie an da song really fits her. i think im part french...not 2 sure...LUV'D UR VID!!

  • Great Stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks

  • Thank Y o u ;)

  • ^_^ Marie is my favorite french ruler! this video is soo goood!

  • she had little real power even as a queen

  • luv this video luv the movie luv marie antoinette

  • love the video..i dont like madonnas material girl as well as the new one..i think the new ones sung by the duff sisters

  • great movie, great clip - i think i watched it about 10 times!

  • Don't you just love this video.

  • luvs it

  • marie-antoinette was the french paris hilton

  • nope,not even close

why don't you read some books about the real Marie Antoinette?

as a french person you should also know this film was widely bashed by french historians as pop drivel set in the 18'th century

  • GREAT MUSIC VIDEO !!!!!

  • ohohoho, clever idea!

    ;D

  • Hey..she was only a kid!

She was what..like on a teen throughout this whole thing, and so ..yknow,most teenager are kinda irrational, and she had complete control of a nation..at like 16!

It was just that she didnt know what was happening to her country,i think that she was brave though, accepting her life and fate.

  • actually she was in her 30's when the French Revolution happened in 1789 and she was 38 when she was executed in 1793

and she DID betray her own country it has been proven lately by historians

  • MATERIAL GIRL"_^!

  • love it.

  • This is one of the mos t fantastics videos I've ever seen in the YouTube! The images are completing the music and vice-versa! Congrats!

  • is that julia roberts at 3:22?

  • No that was the Duchesse Polignac played by the actress Rose Byrne

  • Duchesse de Polignac...

  • Did I spell this wrong?

  • It's just an oversight..."de". Please don't compare Queen Marie-Antoinette with Madonna, this seedy Italo-American pimp (she's not mentioned on "The Social Register"....).

  • i dont think u spellt it wrong.

  • You spelled spelt wrong.

  • i wasnt shour(i am dislexyic so i cant spell well but when i see a spelling earer i can tell that its not spellt right e.g i have spellt shour wrong) but thx 4 telling me anyways :P

  • I love Kirsten <3

  • Great Video !!

  • I love this movie!!! its in my top ten! but I dont think the lyrics of this song suited the character of marie antoinette... she didnt think like that about boys at all... and she never had an affair either.... but the song definately suits the movie, like in the parts when they go to parties and eat cake :D

  • she slept with that hot duke when she was married. I'm pretty sure that screams affair.

  • Actually it's been proven it never happened. she HATED Du Barry because she was having an affiar with the King & marie antoinette saw that as really low and she wanted nothing to do with her. So if she thought that, do you think she'd go & sleep with someone? The people who wrote about her were the people who hated her, & wanted to make her name like filth, and wrote complete lies. If you want to know what REALLY went on in Marie Anotinette's life read the book Hilaire Belloc wrote on her

  • wasn't there letter's that they wrote to each other? Just saying, saw it on the history channel....

  • yes they wrote to each other but as friends. her enimies took those letters and made out like they were love letters but they were just innocent notes of friendship

  • very intresting.

  • I think that this song must be in the film of Sofia.

It had fit very well, cos she was a very matterial girl in her first years in Versalles, when she was a teenager.

Then, when she has her daughter and she was in the Petite Trianon she was a kind of "hippie" but very elegant and fashion.

She changed the fashion of the XVIII century, from Rococo style to Clasicisme.

    She was very fashion ^^

  • Marie Antoinette never said " let them eat cake or let them eat brioche" it was never said...the revolution made her to sound terrible and heartless, she was a concerned misguided blinded queen....life at versailles was very blinding, she barely had any contact with the common people, she couldnt have even if she wanted, it was not proper...i mean come on she had to give birth to an heir in front of court! and in versailled you did not knock on a door...you scratched it with your pinky...

  • huh, the pinky? i didn't know that...but i read the book "Abundance" about marie antoinette... not the same stuff that happened in the movie..

  • Versailles was built on that exact location to be close to Paris and at the same time to be far enough to avoid the pox

  • amazing ! ;p

  • SWEET!

  • <3 Really good I love it!

    Marie-Antoinette pwns.

  • I love Marie Antoinette!!! I want to know Versailles really love it!!! And I love this song with this movie is so!!! You now!;) you rock an M.A =

  • awesome

  • Extremely Well done! Fitting song and the film obviously worked to the song :D!

  • I'm sorry then:) i didn't know that, thank you!

I do think she was not to blame and it wasn't her fault, i should've said that. Again i'm sorry;)

  • i disagree. i think marie antoinette was not a terrible queen. it wasnt all of her fault that the people were starving. the french revolution was started by the earlier french monarchs. marie antoinette was sensitive toward her people, yet clueless, mislead by lies and false assurance.

  • I do believe she was a terrible queen cause she was barely involved with the people of France. As a person she is cool though:p she once said just before the revolution started "if there is no bread anymore they can eat brioche, right?"

  • Actually, it is well known that M.A. actually did not say this quote. It is attributed to Louis XIV's queen (two monarchs previous.) It also just might have been fabricated by revolutionaries to make M.A. look bad and to justify her beheading. Hope that helps!

  • Very true. And people always say she was a terrible queen. whatever! she was fucking cool!

    I totally agree.

  • A música adapta-se espetacularmente bem à Marie Antoinette!

  • I love this, very well done indeed!! It's my favorite movie so far and Madonna is the best after all, and don't you all dare saying the song sucks. It's a classic and Marie Antoinette would love it.

  • nope she would not love it as little as you would love a pop song from the 23'rd century

  • I loved this movie. I hate this song, but with this movie, it's perfect.

  • Vive Marie Antoinette!

  • i like the hilary and haylie duff version better!

  • J'Adore marie antoinette

  • VERY good! And, i agree, I don't really like Madonna either, but the song fits!

  • terrific! 5 stars!!

  • Awesome video/awesome song!!

I think one can't blame Marie Antoinette for her actions. She was thrown into marriage at 15; can you imagine getting married then?Teenagers at 15 have barely experienced life enough to act responsibly; and when did she become queen, age 20 or something? Even that age, to rule is ridiculous. She couldn't be expected to be a wise and experienced queen who knew exactly what to do.

  • Very true. And people always say she was a terrible queen. whatever! she was fucking cool!

  • i totally agree!

  • she WAS a terrible queen, no Queen Elizabeth I,which was a woman of iron will and action or even a Queen Isabella I.

also she was nothing like in this movie idiot

  • no offense, but that song SUCKS. God...Madonna's a loser. Eww

  • I'm not a fan of Madonna either but the song fits.

  • hm,a material world was more becoming the norm during the 1950's and it was particularly prominent in the 1980's.

Marie Antoinette was a religious girl and maintained a mask of a "good queen". Not a material girl at all.

  • haha thats good!

  • A very underrated movie and an excellent video montage made here. I lived in Versailles for three years and walked those gardens almost every day. You can still feel her spirit there and there have been tales of her ghost appearing to two English ladies. I am glad the movie ended on her leaving Versailles and not on the guillotine as others have done. The movie was about her life in Versailles and portrayed it very well. Having said that a sequel would be nice!

  • She got her head cut of for two simple reasons. First off all for not taking care of busines and then trying to run away. Second, becos she wrote letters to her Austrian native country asking the army to come and attack France.

  • ik merk meteen dat je nederlands bent !

  • I just think that the movie makes you think that Marie Antoinette was more like a ***Queen of Pop***

  • Marie Antoinette was the Queen of Fashion and the Queen of debt but i don't like to call her the queen of debt...i feel that she was a landmark her beauty and her grace made her one of the best queens on earth

  • i,m sorry, but beauty and grace do not make someone a great queen.

  • love it!

  • Marie Antoinette was the Queen of Pop of the 18th century

or that´s what the movie makes you think.

  • dont b silly

Marie Antoinette was the fashion queen

  • kwl video on the first material girl! perfect :) *****

  • Perfect!! I love this video!!
