  • Go on to Amazon.com and buy the book by Professor of Medicine, John Hunter-Irritable Bowel Solutions. Its not expensive. He is a British expert wtih 30 years experience of all problems of the gut including IBS. Its great and will give all IBS sufferers hope!He has published over 100 research papers to the Lancet et al. Go for it - you owe to yourself and your family.

  • IBS is a bastard.

  • This guy is great!

  • @beeeastmaster, he's NOT great - he's being disingenuous, treating IBS like an upset stomach, when, for most, there's NO CURE. But this is what I expect from uTube.

If this guy has found a cure, he'd be in the news. A German team HAVE found a physical cause for IBS, but finding a cure is another matter:

Google: "Proof that Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is not in your Head"

People r misdiagnosed with IBS (eg parasites), & so for some they can be cured, but for many, that's not the case.

  • I'm about to commit suicide because of ibs.. I need help

  • I was diagnosed with IBS months back, after endless test which came back negative. I took countless amount of medicines, which would only help for a couple of days. After seeing several GI specialists, one of them recommended I take amitriptyline. I was hesitant for a while to take an anti-depressant, but I finally caved. It was like magic for me. It literally got rid of my stomach cramping within a day. I took a small dose for about 4 months and slowly phased it out. I am now symptom free.

  • PART 1:

My advice: BEFORE using Rifaximin, get a stool test. Removing parasites can be difficult, so you want to do a test first to prove that you have them before trying to kill them off - as that might result in the stool test coming up negative - the parasite can come back!:

& if u get a private stool test, ensure they obtain 3 stool samples from diff. days:

What doctors at St. Vincent's Hospital, Dept of Microbiology, Victoria St., Darlinghurst, NSW2010, Sydney, Australia, say:

  • PART 2:

"Clinical manifestations of Giardia intestinalis infection also vary from asymptomatic carriage to acute and chronic diarrhoea with abdominal pain. These IBS-like symptoms can be continuous, intermittent, sporadic or recurrent, sometimes lasting yrs without correct diagnosis. It is essential that all patients with IBS undergo routine parasitological investigations in order to rule out the presence of protozoan parasites as the causative agents of the clinical signs."

  • The worst thing about ibs is I have had it for 1 year now and I hate it. I can't do the things I want to do because of this, and the worst part is I'm only 14 and I don't think it's going away any time soon.! I wish there was a cure for ibs so I can go hang out with my friends without worrying about it reacting.

  • i have the ibs anyone can help me ?? to get rid of this disease ? i suffer from this disease for two years ago and i can not live with so any one can help me please ??

  • @roseta93 Talk to your doctor about amitripltyline. It is a mild anti-depressant, but it worked wonders for me.

  • im shocked this doctor did not mention Pro-Biotics

they saved me from this horible condition, and because of them i can eat almost whatever i want

trust me, buy the good stuff and take 20 billion cells per day

  • @10kinga, he mentioned "friendly bacteria", which IS probiotics, but most people won't know that. Let us know which ones you take - people have different results with different types (mixes) of probiotics. But for some - or many! - even this doesn't work.

Two brands I've used - google:

    . probio 7 forever-young-health

    . optibacprobiotics

Both are UK firms, but ship worldwide, I think. Optibac have a wide range of different mixes of probiotics to try, so they well worth looking at.

  • Can be triggered by many things, usually linked to stress though, hopefully there will be a cure one day but for now In going to start changing the way I see things by occupying myself when in cars on bussed or in small rooms (usually things which make me feel worse) occupying yourself by takin to the people your with, listening to music and having a bit of fresh air usually helps

  • Very similar situation for me except I don't get bloated if anything I feel more hungry, it feels like you constantly turning down opportunities to go out with family and friends because the thought of it makes you feel sick and your stomach cramps and it's horrible. I found that citrus e.g. Lemons, oranges and even apples made it worse, steak sometimes made it worse and if I ate too fast, mine was triggered by my gcse's I have panic attacks, anxiety and ibs, all of which are somehow linked, it

  • If you're in a state where marijuana in legal, like me in Colorado, go to your doctor and get a prescription. anytime I feel nauseous take a hit. Instant cure.

  • i hate having this ibs shit i cant do anything its ruining my life ive had it over 10 years and i cant stand it just got off the shitter now and i need to go again i hate my life :L

  • Seems like people these days don't even ask why there are epidemics of diabetes, IBS, etc. They just see the doctor and get pills.

You get all these TV cookery programmes and people worse than ever.

  • i am fit. i workout alot

  • i got it . crazy shitting, going to the bathroom alot

  • i guess might have SIBO. my ibs symptoms are not like others which have chronic diarhea, constipation and painful cramps. mine is just bloating, belching and flatulence after eating and less than occational bowel movement issues. and speaking of food allergies and intolerance, all i eat even a plain steamed chicken breast gives me gas.

  • Dr. Hyman...

  • Do I need a prescription to buy the antibiotic?

  • @giggzTV it's called rifaximin.

  • omg can i fly to wherever your doctor's office is.I don't care i'll do it.

  • how to cure ibs- You gotta eat dat pussy nigga!!

  • Well, that's not exactly true. Anti-yeast medications are even stronger toxins than antibiotics. So why would you intoxicate already poor immune system and then proscribe friendly bacteria to rebuild it? It doesn't make sense. In most cases anti-candida drugs worsen the problem. The way to go is to strengthen the immune system, not further damage it.

  • there no Cure there a diet

  • whats the name of the antibiotic please??? he says it at 428

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • easy way to cure IBS ...smoke lots of ganja it works for me

  • Mine was caused by: Tomato, peppers, dairy, chocolate, egg yolk, cucumber, peanuts, garlic, overeating, fatty food, and some types of bread(dont really know why)

  • My IBS was caused by: Tomato, peppers, eggplant, cucumber, peanuts, garlic, strong onion, coffee, tea, chocolate, caffeine, MSG, corn syrup, beet, highly processed food, fatty food, overeating. I avoid these foods and today consider myself cured.

  • going to the hospital in a bit, going to tell the doctors to figure out why i am not getting better from these symbtoms.

  • wow what a doctor

  • yoga and the probiotic bacillus coagulans have been the best things for me (also lots of veg in soup form)

  • I think I'm in love with this man....

  • I'm 16 and i have ibs. It honestly rules my life and is the cause of my anxiety... I have panic attacks whenever i go outside. It's horrible.

  • @LaurenMacP1994 I know exactly how you feel I started feeling weird my Junior year and it got worst everyday my stomach would make noise and I'd have pain and once I feel it I get jumpy and nervous sometimes I want to cry but I hold it in I still do its been a year and half now I'm starting College in 2 days and Im nervous about how Im going to feel but you learn to deal with ur IBS in different ways I'm still learning

  • smoke weed, there is your cure right there.

  • can you do all that but without rifimaxim? or will you not get results without it??

  • I used to have IBS and it has 99% gone, just an occasional flare up. Aloe gel drink and a food allergy test were the two things that really helped me.I found I was intolerant to wheat, oats and dairy (which made up most of my diet!!). Really recommend both these routes if you haven't yet.

  • i wish you were my doctor

  • @shugarqube me too i hate having this

  • Oh and the best thing that has worked a ton for me is a HOT WATER BOTTLE its a freakin godsend although its not v realistic to be lugging around a hot water bottle to school/work and in the summer heat :/

  • hey guys iv had ibs for about 6 years i find that it seems as if its any type of food that upsets my stomach not just gluten , greasy or dairy foods . does anyone else feel the same ? the doctors have put me on multiple things .. Buscopan , lomotil , colofac , fibogel , colpermin and numerous other drugs .Iv been to nutritionists, acupuncturists and dieticians have had numerous tests done and nothing seems to work . Im now taking immodium advance but it only works sometimes. Whats a girl to do ?

  • Dude, you could be a comedian, all you would have to do is get on a stage and just talk about Irritable Bowel Syndrome, your facilely expressions make it look like your telling jokes.

  • Did anyone buy the book and could share some step by step tips to help?????

  • @Rabidwolverine3 yes i just bought the book, in of all places c.v.s., (while waiting for rx.) you can go on the website & download the book as well. good luck, ibs is terrible!

  • I have IBS and RLS. Does anyone else have this and has anyone beaten this? I also take an Imodium the night before I go to sleep and it sort’ve does help. If I continually take Imodium at night for a fair while will the IBS disappear completely????

  • @Rabidwolverine3 nope ibs will never permanently go away. find ways to make it go away with your diet. People just don't understand how painful stressful and discomfortable it feels for us. I had ibs for 3 years and i just wanna cure for this disease,

  • @remonte925 i totally agree, ibs is horrible

  • You don't need to buy proprietary preparations. However Rifaximin is recommended .A good diet based on steamed vegetables and limited good quality low fat meats like chicken will help you achieve the same results. Key factors are identify trigger foods and exercise then stay with it for a few weeks. Its very hard to be disciplined but worth it. None of the treatments will cure the condition 100% but what you can expect is a major reduction in symptoms and better management.

  • @Matrix7neo yeah its awful i hate going out so iv only seen my friends yesterday the first time in amonth! i just sit here with my xbox.. i feel like more of a nerd than the people who play world of war craft and war hammer. atleast they see people everyday xD and alot of people say peppermint oil can help, you can get it as a tea aswell, just a bit of advice try to swallow the pill soon as because mine burst in my mouth and omg i was nearly sick for 2 hours and could taste it all day!! x]

  • @XxbambiexX1

lol.. well i'll have to look into that, but i need something that will last me hours. seriously, i'll try sitting there with some tom clancy games to kill time and it's just so damn boring. i went to a party a few nights ago, went ok, but i mean the whole drive on freeway sucks so bad. it kills your motivation to go out.. im just like you lol.... dont drink any caffeine that's a big no no for me, same with too many romen noodle. Good diet and milk is great too. ;)

  • @Matrix7neo hm not sure i wont go to the doctors about it so i dont know many things to help >.< thats good i dont like caffeine i have my herbal teas i sometimes find that they can help to i dont no why but they do for me haha i love greentea raspberry and blueberry thats my fav! and noo!! i love noodles im a huge ramen freak haha xD its annoying because my family are like blahblah no milk no cheese no bread cant eat this cant eat that when they dont know, vair annoying.. and yah tom clancy!

  • High-dose Vitamin E helps, too. Try 800-1200 IU a day. Even 400 IU a day might help. Mixed natural tocopherols are my preference.

There are no known side effects of high-dose E, only side benefits. For instance, it helps blood oxygenate tissues, and helps keeps red blood cells flowing freely.

  • wow...hope...I've spent the last 3 hours researching...I'm pretty happy with all th info I've got...do you have ANY idea how hard it is to have IBS symptoms and be an massage therapist???

    Not cool...very not cool...lol

I thought I was going to have to stop my session with my client, but I pulled through...I have had to stop one once before...very not conducive to my clients relaxation..."excuse me...I have to go blast out your toilet...please wait here"...it's funny but HORRIBLE.

  • I've had these symptoms for about 6 years now -- ever since my first colonoscopy. Throughout the past year or so, I've tried adding/removing various foods to my diet, without effect. Some days I will "go" once; other days, six or seven times. Sometimes it feels like I'm crapping battery acid, and then I can hardly walk when I'm finished. I'm so tired that I can easily sleep for 14 hours a day. I certainly wouldn't mind some kind of relief from this stupidity...

  • I am crying right now reading this. Thank you so much for posting!!!

  • My IBS is so bad that I am virtually in tears for half the day at school. It's so painful. :(

    All the medicine my doctor gives me makes it so much worse too. I don't know what to do. ;_;

  • @SomeRandomHomosexual i feel you :(

  • no going to see psychatrist no rifamxin for me, i have no ige allergies which is good, but my main cause is my anxiety

  • I had IBS real bad, so miserable, I couldn't sleep and the Vagus Nerve in my stomach would trigger PANIC Attacks! . I'm now taking PROBIOTICS ( Brands found at Wal-Marts, where they are cheaper) It took about 2 weeks for the Probiotics to kick in, but it has made a world of difference in my life.. Just be patient and let the medicine kick in. You should see a huge difference in your stools too. .. Remember: If your STOOL Floats it has too much FAT, if it has enough FIBER it will SINK.

  • FINALLY! a good doctor!

  • FINALLY! i good doctor!

  • i think fibre is only better if u suffer constipation more

  • i found out that i has high albumin levels in my blood, meaning i was extremely dehyrated, so when i drank more water, and took cod liver oil (vitamine A, which helps retain water in the body), all ym bloatin stopped.

try drinking just water alot, water fuels ur cells, it might help :)

  • I have this condition as well! :( I hate it and I found that having granola with 20% fiber isn't really helpful! :(

  • its SOOO obvious your trying to hold your laugh in.

  • fiber will fuck your day up if you have IBS

  • ...I Have IBS. My question is: I have pecking, fluttering, pulsating, bothersome thing under my left ribcage right above the the intestine or next to the stomach, the same throbbing, pulsating in my back. Is this from the IBS? I have been to 4 doctors and none can diagnose it. IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY. Thanks (Jdapro) Canada

  • @Dapruex Is it like a gnawing feeling? Bubbly, painful, like being hungry but doesn't make noise? If it is, I have it too.. My doctor said it's acid reflux but my medicine didn't work so I just hope it doesn't come on too often. Heh >< I have IBS too. Apparently Acid Reflux and IBS coming as a pair aren't unusual.

  • @Dapruex have u had a cat scan? that usually shows up if its anything serious

  • rifixmin or whatever it's called coats the whole bowel so this is great news my symptoms are the same as elexis they where sudden woke up one day at felt real sick feels like daily food poisoning, rectal itching, gastritis, hives, constipation and diarrhoeal, chronic tiredness, I fighting with doctors to give me anti-fungals and this antibiotic, instead they have given me an anti-depressant so thanks for this news given me new hope

  • Which bacteria is supposed to be in your small intestines and which in your large?

  • great information but NHS in uk and trying to get your doctor to prescribe that stuff for you is another issue.

  • IBS positive from age 4

  • Thanks for the information, mine was caused as a result of abuse inflicted on me by three individuals.

  • try eating purely organic foods.

    and raw foods.

if man made it, dont eat it.

if you do that, you should be healthier than ever

i had the same problem. and changing my eating habits made everything better

  • I have same issue and based in some research i found acidophilus it has a good bacteria wich regulates the bowl movement and remove the constipuation.

I been taken it for 2 days and eating the plain yagurt im feeling a lot better.

  • Dear Dr. Mark Hyman thank you for your most informative detail explanation and recommendation. It is important to avoid such allergen foods as: dairy, gluten, yeast, soy, eggs & peanuts. Take fish oil, zinc, magnesium and fiber. Also, ask the doctor about temporary antibiotic RX treatment known as: Rifaximin (generic form: Flonoram) treatment for uninvited visitors to small bowel. Good info, TY!

  • i dont poop... ever... i cant.. its been a week now!!

  • i have IBS :(( i throw up blood some times... i cant go to school so many days

  • @RadioZombieX u shouldnt be throwing up blood with ibs. go get some tests done. blood, unine tests, cat scan etc

  • i need help, im 19 yrs old, i was just told by my doctor he thinks it's IBS, im more stressed out then i've ever been, i've read countless storys that other's wrote, saying pretty much saying there life's suck with this, now it's got to the point were i think 4-6 times aday of death being the best way out, lets face it, there's no cure, im scared out of my mind, i thik the worst, and whenever i think about it, my body gets hotter, i feel inclosed, trapped, and uncomfortable, please helpppp

  • @gerardtravis19

You can get through this and life can be better! The first thing you need to do is get a food allergy test and eliminate anything you are reactive to. Then start taking Magnesium, it helps me alot I use KAL brand because it works for me, you will have to experiment or get the Dr's book he knows what works best. Add fiber by eating Whole Grains, like Brown Rice, etc. It will get better and you will be able to function. There is nothing to be scared of.

  • Can this cause yeast infection? Because I get them constantly as well.

  • Damn Alexis sound just like me, to the "T".

  • Has anyone tried this? Does it work?

  • I use to get IBS when I was working 9-5.. as soon as I left, it stopped. What I learnt was.. listen to your body, you only get a disease when you are at dis-ease with something. ;)

  • There isnt a cure for IBS and if they dont find anything wrong they say 'its IBS' its the original of stupid doctors. Theres something wrong but they say they cannot find anything.. then its ibs.. i mean the f---?

  • SIR, I ASKED YOU SOMETHING AND U DIDN'T REPLIED.AFTER HEARING YOU I TRIED TO FIND OUT THE THINGS WHICH MAKE IBS WORSE AND STOPPED CONSUMING DAIRY,JUICES AND SWEETS AND IT ME RELIEF FOR SOMEDAYS BUT NOW AGAIN I M AGAIN AT SAME STAGE CAN U GUIDE ME......I M A STUDENT AND MY STUDIES ARE BEING DISTYURBED BADLY COZ OF DIS.

  • i'm yet to find a person who has seen my problem more than a commodity disease that plague people. Nobody has tried to understand the real cause of my IBS.

  • i m 19 and im suffering from digestive problems from last 10 months like constipation, acidity, gas and resulting wieght loss from 170 pounds to 130 pounds and now i m a skinny guy6'1 . can u give me some suggestions..........?

  • @faithster411 it sucks but you have to cut out alot, you are not alone ,youll end up with very little in you diet !.......just tell your self its no big deal, good luck

  • search liver galbladder cleanse. colitis is caused by a problem in the billiary system, not the colon

  • i have ibs for years .. but i learned its name and what exactly it is today. i am 28 m . i have diarrhea for 3 weeks .. i am an civil engineer and yes damn stress is makes me ibs. i hate it. it happens me everytime. usually in hot weather and stressly times. i got all kinds of tests. its all clean. there is no any anormal bacteria or something like it. today my ex girl friend said to me lets go out but i said no i am tired..

  • I am 18 years of age and i have been having chronic bloating since i was a child and nothing i do makes it go away. It doesnt matter what i eat i am always constantly bloated, when i wake up in my the morning even on an empty stomach i am still bloated. I am a thin build and its frustrating cause i have had this popped belly for as long as i can remember.I have suffered from depression since i was little girl, often have heart/chest pain and found out recently that i have PCOS.What do i do?

  • cramps for me my ibs was and is coffee

  • I cut out all dairy products and feel 1000 times better. As for sugar, I never consumed it anyhow. I do wonder though, if cutting out dairy will screw me over vitamin D wise leading to other problems.

  • thank u very much doctor u have been very helpful

  • Adding fiber to my diet actually made my IBS worse.

  • Comment removed

  • @DKMontoya4670 Make sure to consume sources of soluble fiber from vegetables, not insoluble sources from grains and oats etc.

Imagine tiny wood chips sliding along your GI membranes. Your intestines and bowel actually secretes a form of mucous to protect itself from the irritating effects of insoluble fiber.

Stick to moderate amounts of fibrous veggies along with the other things like less gluten/wheat/refined sugar etc. Worked perfectly for my wife who had IBS for years,

  • Comment removed

  • @DKMontoya4670 Yup me too. Whey Protein three times a day "cured" mine . You can find my video titled. Beat IBS with Whey Protein

  • @DKMontoya4670 theres 2 kinds of fiber,1 makes you shit a shitload, the other one fucks up your intestines.

  • @DKMontoya4670

I had trouble adding fiber too so I had to go with food fiber in the form of grains. Add Whole Grains to your diet, like Brown Rice, and things like that. Add Magnesium to help your Bowels too. An Rx that helped in the beginning is Librax, ask your Dr about that. I personally think that my IBS was a precursor to Gluten Intolerance, (or possibly Celiac Disease), so try cutting out Wheat and Gluten to see if it helps.

  • dear frnd.......... have spasmopriv capsules..it eases ibs

  • @DKMontoya4670 They are different kind of fibers. Soluble and insoluble. If you suffer from diarrhea, soluble fiber would be helpful like white rice, white bread, white pasta etc. I know they say bad stuff about these things but everybody is different. Eating veggies and fruits are good but they can be both these fibers especially the skin cab be insoluble. I never really had these problems until I switched up my diet cause everybody was hyping up this vegan and vegetarian diet which fruits

  • & veggies are good but if you suffer from ibs it can still trigger it.I was shocked when I found out veggies & fruits were causing my stomach to be wacky too. Everything in balance & you might have to peel skins off fruits and veggies too. My family grew up on white rice etc and once I stopped the diet, my body went haywire. It got worse recently. Im the only one in my familt suffering like this. Whats even more sad is that these doctors dont know squat. They act like it but they don't. Here

  • @DKMontoya4670 Exactly true. Extra fiber doesn't just feed the good bacteria, it feeds the bad kind, too. And that causes lots more gas. And if you're eating more insoluble fiber, that stuff if really physically abrasive. Stuff like greens and any kind of ruffage is BAD for virtually all IBS sufferers.

  • @DKMontoya4670 your not the only one.

  • @DKMontoya4670 what kind of fiber ? Wheat ?

  • Turmeric cures ulcers, IBS, bloating, cramps, heartburn, etc. Make yourself a turmeric tea twice a day. To prepare turmeric tea, just pour boiling water to a cup, add turmeric powder, grated ginger and add a little sugar to taste. The amount of each ingredient depends on individual preference.

Its most effective when you take it on an empty stomach. Be sure to use pure turmeric

  • THank you so much for your advice!

  • my wife beat dabilitating ibs by eating organic non-gmo's , taking milk thistle and glutamine powder and vitamine D at 2000iu . and quality supplement's .

  • @deathofisrael

..She couldnt leave the house without ending up in a bathroom somewhere undressing .now she eats salad again .woot .She no longer see's allopathic dr's that enslaved her for 25 year's .

  • @deathofisrael Can I ask you why your wife decided to take glutamine powder. I understand why milk thistle but why glutamin?

    Greetings.

  • @katalina125

    just a test post

  • @katalina125

I had to use and after research i thought good for her. pre milk thisle too we used it .GMO's kick off the problem bad.

  • nice video

  • Great video; filled with good information!

  • How do you know if you have IBS? I'm 18 but i have had a problem with my stomach bloating for many years. After eating one meal, my stomach bloats a lot to the point where it looks like I'm pregnant and i have to exercise a lot just to get my stomach less inflated.

So is that IBS? something else? How do I fix it?

  • @sizzzan224 I have the same problem! :(

  • I agree that most that causes IBS is too much antibiotics..

It's not in your head.. i love it!!!

    Thanks a lot

  • its rifaximin also called xifaxan. It got rid of my right side ache, but I still have back ache/other aches

  • my doc needs the spelling for :rufimixain:??

  • Hope this is not too off base here, but what software are you using to edit your videos? They're coming out perfect. Great fades.

Also, are you talking about Pylori here?

  • How can I contact this man? IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!

  • amazing video!!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS. I hope this works!!!!

  • @sarcruz did it worked dude ?

  • what was the name of the medication to get rid of bad bacteria in the gut??

  • asasa

  • 3/4 of the way through reading your utramind solutions book..fabulous reading . Now all my problems seem to make sense. I have had migraines since 10 years old(now 43) finally found cutting out "MSG" from my diet helped but still not perfect. How quickly shud I remove alagams?

Knowing that 'MSG' sets off migraines could you please just point me in the right direction for help. I plan on finishing your book and have already started making more changes in my diet.

    Thanks

  • people who have IBS should heed this man's advice for normal health to recover

  • i was sitting right next to him when this was recorded!!!!

  • i Know you im your nefu

  • I got terrible gut problems. If a hydrogen breath test shows negative SIBO does that mean that antibiotic would not be helpful? What is that thing called? Which antifungal is best? I desperately need a good doctor.
