@AOAWHATSUP Yes, of course! It's a midi controller without any inherent sounds. It just triggers gear that is based on midi. No matter if it's software that emulates strings, brass, synths or an mpc. You can even play a software piano, but a midi controller in the form of a keyboard would obviously be the first choice then.

no sabría como decirte para que funcione con ese aparato "KP3", ya lo conocía pero no tengo mucha información de eso.

Yo lo uso enchufado a la PC (USB), abro cualquier programa de batería en el Fruity Loops y ya puedo tocar. También podría abrir el BFD como un programa independiente y tambien funcionaría, pero ese es medio pesado (unos 200GB completo)

Fijáte si conseguí el FL y el ezdrummer por lo menos para empezar. Saludos

I actually called Korg in Canada and the gentlemen was nice enough to send me Creative Control package 3 as they had some leftovers. However, they no longer include a software package with their padkontrol. I've had no problems with my unit, and in fact I was pleasantly surprised by the pads themselves and how customizable they were in terms of velocity. I've always used traditional synths and just added this to my rig. Very nice!

I got ripped off. I paid 199 and didnt get anything software wise. It came with a VERY basic pad editor and driver. I still am unable to connect it to the computer, it says its there but there seems to be no interaction, the only thing its done so far is control a midi keyboard the same as the keys do. Im very not happy with this unit after all the great reviews.

Just get a lighted metronome or get a visual metronome for a computer screen, or play a song or backbeat in all of your ears at the same time with headphones and a splitter, or just make everyone bring their own am/fm headphones and tune in to the same station. etc. etc. also make everyone get the same $2-$5 cheap clock with a tic/toc or click, then sleep with it by your bed so your brain can get a natural sense of time.

If you want new-ish, novamusik(dot)com has a PadKontrol, reboxed from Korg (full warranty), for $148.88, which is a steal. I ordered mine from their for that price. Considering the Trigger Finger is $139, it's a damn good deal for the pads.

If you need more than pads (ie knobs, sliders and buttons), then the mpd24 at $179 is the best bang for your buck. Novamusik has an open box (full warranty) for $149, which is another steal.

Used prices don't save you much; unless you find one really low.

There is a reason for having a keyboard and a drum pad controller. When tapping out drums on a keyboard, you have a about half an inch of depression before the key triggers, the pads trigger nearly instantly on contact. It makes playing dynamic drum parts a lot easier.

If you don't have either, and you're not a pianist, I would recommend a pad controller. If you are a pianist, get a midi keyboard; you'll be more productive.

If you already have a midi keyboard, I would completely recommend getting any pad controller.

Even if you aren't worried about dynamics (velocity) in your drums, the timing you will get from a pad is much more natural sounding.

And, they're just so damned fun.
