  • Thank you so much for this..........could we see Karen and Richard on stage (hint hint)

  • What a group! Great band!

  • I like this clip. It really shows just how much versatile they are as a group. I loved Ms. McCoo's rendition of rainy days and mondays.

  • Great hearing Ron out in front if only for a few seconds. Too bad he didn't get matched with any material that was fit for him to do.

  • They are all so great!!!

  • i love yall not because you gave tribute to aquarius well maybe some of it but becuase i know that you were only of a few people that helped redd Foxx yall have a heart and a soul and i will always sdmire you for that and the fact that you still love each other are together at least as far I i know now says a lot about your s pirituality i know you have wonderful kids and grands how could u not you are the fifth dimension love yall yes this aqaurious sis jalilah stay strong and powerful god Bles

  • This is not only classic talent - this is classically-talented-talent, with a twist of humor!!! Is there "ANYTHING" that the 5th Dimension CAN'T DO to entertain an audience!?!? :

  • to bad the grammy's is not like this now. how they will sing the singers, for the awards :) sweet video

  • Oh my GOODNESS!!!! Marilyn McCoo cracks me up in this video, she is soo hilarious. I just LOVE her!!!!

  • Could you imagine some so called singing groups attempting a presentation like this today?

  • @doctavis LOL, you're not kidding - these guys were professionals. Acts of today arn't even in the same league as the 5th Dimension

  • And no lip sinking! they sang live, you don't see THAT anymore.

  • Wow I love YouTube just for fantastic post like this :)

  • Florence's hair is so high.

  • wow so many classic songs with amazing artists competing all at once ,we dont see that any more all we have today in 2010 is fake mediocre people pretending to be artists competing for best song and all the material they push today SUCKS BIG TIME

  • @louheff You said it perfectly!

  • So glad The Carpentors won...Such a shame we lost Karen...Still breaks my heart...8

  • dear benebz:

Most of these songs came out in the summer of 1971 but the Grammy's happen in the spring, I believe, so that is why these 71 songs don't show up until the 1972 nominations.

  • saw them twice live in seattle-lamount was ignoring fans-so i got the rest of their autographs - btw florence was really gorgeous and sweet.

  • Marilyn McCoo was really hot and quite a singer on top of that.

  • Guys do you think that now 2010 will see a presentation of the nominated like this?

  • cute feather vest

  • WoW, this is really groovy, can ya dig it brothers and sisters ?

  • The 5th Dimension is the most diverse singing group vocally. their distinct sound crosses over to R&B & pop fans everywhere. their harmonies are very tight. Their music always make people feel good regardless of what your day has been!

  • MM LOVE YOU

  • sure this 1972? those songs were 69/70 weren't they?

  • I am STILL in love with Florence LaRue.

  • Marilyn and Karen, two of the very best!

  • Music award shows then had a lot of singing talent, don't see that anymore with the music awards they show today.

  • They owned back then!

  • Marilyn is just sweet. Beautiful and funny

  • Not only are these guys great to listen to on the radio, they are also fun to watch!

  • This was GREAT!! it was very original and most of all wonderful .... and Karen Carpenter won!!! amazing... The only thing I hate is that they cut the vid when the CARPENTERS received the prize!!

  • marilyn is beautiful

  • Flo is so alluring and talented, steals

    your soul at 2:00.

What an arrangement of talent these five classy people are/were.

  • Thanks for posting. This is a wonderful find. The 5th Dimension was a great group of singers and that is great entertainment.

  • A total delight, Marilyn is quite funny trying to do 5th's songs during this (quite spunky!)...but also nails The Carpenter's song, I think she could have covered several of Karen & Richard's songs to wonderful effect.!

  • @efwhite I would've LOVED to have seen the Carpenters and the 5th Dimension do a duet when they were in "The Traveling Sunshine Show" together!

  • Hello,i'm from Spain, and i had a lotta fun watching this video, and listening to all the members of the 5ªDimension singing the nominated songs and some of their own hits too.Simply Fantastic! I was happy while watching it.Thank you!!

  • they sang wonderfullyyyyyyyy

  • Hmm...thinking it would have been nice if the 5th had covered Jesus Christ Superstar.

  • Um, was it me, or did Karen and Richard look annoyed?

  • I Lurve the Carpenters version of rainy Days and Mondays...but gotta admit, Marilyn was just foolin around and sounded REALLY GOOD singing that.

  • @broondalolo I don't think so. I think they looked like they were waiting to see what would happen.

  • A+!

  • The Fifth Dimension..A number one class act..on stage and off.

  • Marilyn McCoo was one good looking women! Jenni, 16 from the chicago area

  • They are a class act!!!! Love to see them adlib and sing other stars hits.!!

  • Hot?! Man, I could've told ya that 40 years ago!!

  • god DAMN the chick in the yellow fluffy vest thing is SMOOOOKING hot!!

  • @BigKiwiLad That is Marilyn McCoo......Awesome singer!!

  • Awesome....

  • do you have when mahalia jackson when she got her grammy?

  • We need more music like this. Marilyn rocks!!!!!!!!

  • Muy buena!

    exelente!!

  • What talent,

so few could do that today.

To come in right on key, cold...wow...

  • Marilyn stole the show again!

  • why cant we go back to that time????

    i hate this time period!!!!!

  • Irislight2008, this is a funny and nice clip that you posted and shared with everyone. I often forget just how talented that group really was...And funny, too. If Marilyn had did a medley of al of their hits...The show would had been over, that's how many they had.

  • It's great to hear them all individually, and that snipped of Rainy Days by Marilyn was great. It's amazing to see the songs that were up for that award then and compare it to the drivel that gets nominated now.

  • AMEN-

  • They could really sing. It's worth it just to hear Marilyn do that snippet of Rainy Days. Makes you want to hear more.

  • The harmonies of the 5th Dimension has yet to be topped by any ground. They all had perfect voices.
