Yes, clutched the handbrake when in the 2.5i. I'd hope owners know the mechanical requirements of their own cars prior to trying any of these maneuvers.
well, you guys are the ones making a 'how-to' video without specifying to do so. i wouldnt be surprised to see an influx of noobs trying to do this without understanding why they need to clutch in only to F up their tranny.
Noobies shouldn't be duplicating maneuvers that are clearly described as being for competition. If they do, without understanding the underlying principals, we feel no sympathy for what may result. Can't be paranoid about what everyone may or may not know. But, since you've brought this up in the comments, it probably won't be an issue now, right?
noobies are the exact one that will be watching this, thinking its that simple, and fulled into trying out the exact same thing. there is no need for you to play devils-advocate and act so naive when you're well aware that is the case. it was a simple fact that would have taken 1 full second to state in the video as a side-note to exclude a HUGE diversity of liabilities or future flamage. and the same noobies who will try, are the same ones who don't bother reading comments. point made.
@KuostA If attempting to replicate what is in this video, noobs will more likely run into a snow bank or get a flat tire before f-ing up their center diff.
@CVRealMan yeah, it would've. I watched the rally and it was a pretty hard off. It would be nice to see subaru back in wrc though. Ford and Citroen need some more competition.
bonita manera de que te rompan los coches, dejárselos a dos gilipollas..

question - did you clutch in on ebrake? if not, especially on a non-sti without a dccd that will fuck up your diff.
