Dean is captured by a djinn (it's like a genie) and he was granted his wish that his mom never died. He lived in an alternate reality for the entire epi and Sam and Jess got engaged, and Dean had a g/f. But Sam and Dean weren't close so Dean snapped out of the alternate reality.

Yeah and she died in the first episode. She was killed by the YED the same demon that killed the boys' mother. Most of the clips are from Dean's dream, "What Is And What Should Never Be" she wasn't around long at all. = D Thank you so much for watching and for the complement!
