@leahdancesfreely she didn't actually recognize her.. she just said "hate her" coz she hated the fact that someone was prettier than her as she was supposedly the prettiest of the night. I agree that a little mask around the face wont do the covering but there are a thousand students in their school and "Sam" was just a diner girl, a less popular girl... hence, no one really knows her that well especially that night when she dressed up and fixed herself.. heheh :)) just trying to explain :))
