  • Git outta here!!! The band in formal-wear on the beach... silhouetted on the outcropping, with the piano player under the arch. F****ing brilliant! Thanks so much for sharing!

  • I was 3 years old and still remember this fine tune.

  • Never saw this video before. Quite outstanding!

  • Modern pop culture such as Drew Carey could not possibly have added to the value of this classic music. It only serves to inform the ignorant of what is already great, not make it greater.

  • That must have cost a lot of money to make that

  • London W1N "4DJ"

  • GREAT SONG!.......for anyone interested...........on you-tube site "jenny morris she has to be loved nzoz1989" has been posted some juicy gossip from his visit to australia in 1969.......dont know if it is true or not......you have to press "see all" to find the hidden comments. regards.

  • @blondyspado Me too!! My son plays the trumpet in college :)

  • What would REALLY make this video is if Patrick McGoohan was seen trying to escape through the band at the beach.

  • cool video

  • ou yeahhh!

  • Like many Herb Aplert & Tijuana Brass numbers, this was a regular part of The Dating Game and/or The Newlywed Game.

  • TUTTO IL CALCIO MINUTO PER MINUTO!

  • @raf93roma Wtf haha

  • How did they get that Tijuana trumpet sound? How far off key do you need to be?

    Love it!

  • Beautiful music Herb is the best trumpet player ever

  • Great music!! Its..so beautyfull!!

  • Such a great arrangement! I honestly prefer this to the Beatles' version--and I NEVER say that.

  • BIUTIFUL!!!!!!.Grew up listening to his music in the 60's downtown Tj......good stuff!!!!

  • BIUTIFUL!!!!!!..Grew up with this music in the 60's...Downtown Tj., with bullfights every weekend between may and september

  • @Hetty, Thanks!

  • A song that went on to greater fame by being covered on the Drew Carey Show!

  • I bum this.

  • No one makes film like this today. Herb Alpert, what class. Spectacular!

  • an orchestral arrangement of "atypically 1960's sound" of a pure nostalgia he epitomised a sound that was the "Peace"

    - jitters

  • all the generations have taken for granted that somehow peace existed before these years. What Herb represents is spinal strength to that peace so there was moderation and modernisation.

    - jitters

  • The beatles led young men together with the decca sound to get away from the warfare. The taste of honey in this video can be found in atypical light entertainment "the good the bad and the ugly" "the prisoner with patrick magoohan" - it has a nostalgic ring about it that appears to exist and have existed for as long as modern civilisation. As for your writing skills interrupting your thought

God preserve us W "rite On"

    - jitters

  • So if this is an instrumental song did The Beatles just make up lyrics when they covered this or what?

  • Videos go way back, the ones from the 1950's to the early 1980's (pre MTV) were mostly made for consumption on variety shows, such as captain and teniell, Ed Sullivan, Tony Orlando and Dawn, Sonny and Cher, Etc.

  • that was one of the best video clips ive ever seen,,, just mindblowing camera shots

  • how to carry a piano to the rocks in the beach? ask to herb albert... love the video its a hit...

  • Who was the genius video producer here? First, Herb has to run like hell down the beach (hope that only required one take) and then that wave got his feet all wet while he was playing on that rock... Whatta trooper... That's why we love you, Herb !! The music is awesome !!

  • Bossa Nova, Babiee . . .

  • be funny if a massive wave wiped them all out

  • Classic!!! Timeless!!! WOW!!!

  • greatest song to listen to while high in a car

  • my mother in law gave me all her Herb Albert lps and I just love them

  • @2048rocker Your mother in law is a lot nicer than mine...lol...

  • Goddamn...what an amazing song.

  • I've been horny, runnin' down the beach, I relate w/ this tune.

  • I used to listen to this song about 40 years ago in our local department store when I was a kid. They used to play piped music through the ceiling speakers, Ibelieve it was called MUSAC or somethimg like that. Anyway I used to enjoy hearing it being played every time I would visit the store. (Now long closed).

  • If I see Herb ill prolly rape him, so hot

  • This is by far the coolest song ever. MY FAVE!

  • They sure do not make videos like this any more. Excelente.

  • Pardon the expression but, I'm blown away. This is spectacular!

  • FROM LAS VEGAS NV....I LOVE IT...

  • Tutto il calcio minuto per minuto.

  • This video must have been awfully fresh at it's time. It looks like it's about thirteen years ahead of it's era.

  • @TheFacelessActivist they didnt even have like video clips in 66 did they?

  • @strictlysega

Well, there's various videos dating back to the 1920's. So, kinda. But I may be misunderstanding your question.

  • @TheFacelessActivist i thought music vids were very rare till the late 70s early 80s,,

  • @strictlysega

Not exactly, look at Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Ray Charles and Louis Armstrong. Hell, not to mention Bobby Darin.

Then there's all those Broadway musicals...

  • @strictlysega Yeah, we all did...stupid record companies and TV networks. I would love to have seen these back in the '60s.

  • I have no clue as to why I was whistling this song out of the blue!!! I knew it was Herb Albert, 'cause my parents played his records all the time; Haven't heard it in probably 30 years- "Youtube'd" Herb Albert and wha-la! Great tune...!

  • This looks like a lot of fun!!

  • doesnt everyone run along the shore in a tux with a trumpet and an orchestra waiting for you?

  • @WPOwens That's how I spend my weekends.

  • @WPOwens Of course we do.

  • @WPOwens I do it all the time.

  • @WPOwens If we didn't have the stupid videos of yesterday, we wouldn't have the stupid videos of today. Regardless, the talent speaks for itself, nevermind the production.

  • I JUST LOVE THIS SONG I AM LIKE THE GIRL OF THE BEACH COME TASTE

    MY HONEY !! XOXOXO

  • Totally awesome!

  • Herb Alpert is one of my favorite human beings in the world. He deserves all of his good fortune. This man has given back so much to the world & like Karen when all is said & done he will have left the world a better place. He does for people, give money away, plus he gave the Carpenters the brak of a life time. Herby I still have them on everyday, it never gets old. Your music is great, you are great, & like Karen & Richard Carpenter, you are an inspiration to me. Thank you

  • On the shore of a San Diego Beach who's going to hear?

  • this song always reminds me of sitting in the back seat of my dads 69 mercury on the way to Bloomsburg pa and my mom rode shotgun

  • I saw him in 1980 after Rise hit it big. He was and is amazing.

  • herb rocked when I saw him in 1968

  • 1:40 lol the poor violinist that gets caught by the surf... he is still sitting in the chair but his feet got pulled out from under him!

  • This was 1966. What an AMAZING video this is! Plus, all real Italians know this piece.

  • brings back childhood memories. miss those days!

  • I LOVE this shit .... what? thanks for posting.

  • I LOVE this shit

  • I Love It! I would love the privelage to see herb live.

  • I Love It!

  • My parents were big fans of Herb Alpert and this was one of their favorite songs.

If you are nostalgic for this style of music, you need to watch this video.

search cinnamon doll jazz. these guys are a gas!

  • Supa Pimp!!!

  • I first heard this version years ago when my Mother was listening to an Easy Listening radio station. At the time, I only knew the Beatles version. I was stunned that the 'easy listening' version actually rocked harder.

  • Great vid, I had hundreds of vids from the 50s,60s,70,and 80s on my old account in which was terminated recently from Mr. Web Sheriff, I need to know a way around that, until then my new page is plain jane. whole lotta nothing.

  • Got hooked up with Herb when I was 5 or 6 when Dad would play his albums and it's been part of my collection ever since...and I'm in my 50'S

  • thumbs up if you think this song was made faster to beat the tide :P

  • woah that was ridiculously BAD ASS

  • Thanks Jo for a great share. Great song and video *********

  • That was pretty epic

  • The orchestra on the surfline was pretty cool. thanks for sharing the clip.

  • its wild to imagine a 16 to 19 yr old listening to this way back then with that rock an roll rebellious mind set. lol. great posting here. thanks for sharing this treasure.

  • AT 1:30 Charlton Heston shows up, while shooting at those dirty apes! But they cut it out of the final.

  • Pipe stem pants and cuban boots! I have them both and the skinny legs!

  • É A MÚSICA DO FAUSTÃO GURIZADA

  • An orchestra on the beach? You rock Herb!

  • @StarTrekker711 My thoughts exactly!!

  • WE LOVE HERB, NOW AND IN A HUNDRED MILLION YEARS FROM NOW.

  • This was one of the first "music videos" ever made; Herb Alpert was an innovator on many levels.

  • so many memories, i still love this tune

  • my mom got me this album when i was 6 years old and i still love it..i'm 51 now..great music..great talent herb...great memories...thanks for thememories..charaird..

  • This Is one of the Coolest Funniest Videos EVER!!! Doe anyone know what beach it is? Looks like Malibu Area.....

That guy didn't even stop playing when the Ocean got Him!!!

  • a great artist as well as a brillant musician.

  • 0:46 WIN

  • Just Awesome. Belongs at the top of all the songs back then, and now. My friends and I would be at the park on a summer day listening to this (on our littile radio) as we played ball, oblivious to all the world;s problems.

  • All I can think of is - that poor piano! I'm sure after all that moisture, it never sounded the same.

  • HERB IS ONE SUAVE PIMP

  • Good song. But I played cornet, and I can see that it's lip-synched poorly. He is not even breathing into the trumpet and you can hear him play. Oh, well, entertainment is not the most realistic endeavor in the world. But man, could these guys play music!

  • This song is very famous in Italy! Is the opening theme of the show "Tutto il calcio minuto per minuto" (All the soccer minute by minute), the transmission of radio commentary of football matches.

  • @LordKranio This was one of the Brass' biggest hits in North America. There's lyrics to this song, too.

  • de la puta mare.

  • 19 people have a taste in music

  • I heard this guy had groupies all over the world......I should take up the trumpet.

  • @naturaltoby Yeah, he was pretty hot. I think my mom may have been a groupie had she not been saddled with 4 kids :~) I had to learn these songs on the piano just for her. Alpert was on TV one night and my dad turned the channel on her and she went berserk. Watch the video of him singing "This Guy's in Love" sometime. The ladies would just swoon over that one.

  • Why, just last week I was walking on the beach and saw a guy running with a trumpet or trombone and he was wearing a tuxedo!

I do love this music, though.

  • this recording is how i first heard the tune in the 60s when it came out. what a groove...and those trumbones....what a cool, sleazy sound....

  • Bet the pianist was glad he wasn't late...how do you suppose they got that grand out on the rocks?

  • @Plans4Nobody I don't know but I'll bet that Baby Grand was ruined once it got salt water in the works :) I'll bet you they had to haul ass to get it off the rocks before high tide came back in.

  • @dantescratch Ha, ha! Yeah, it was probably already ruined from just the spray and salt in the air...sort of expensive for a TV video!

  • @Plans4Nobody it was probably on a platform on the other side of the hole.

  • Awesome back-to-the-60s moment. What makes it even better is that Alpert clearly doesn't really know how to conduct - his arms are all over the place.

  • 19 ppl have no taste

  • It's so rare that over 600,000 people have seen it!

  • 0:24 - thats me when i'm late for rehearsal

  • @57250tr LOL i fell out of my seat when I read that

  • I'm gonna suggest to my conductor that our next rehearsal take place on the beach

  • ¡Sorry! Okay. Is a BEAUTIFUL melody but ... is no art at all. Is bussines.

  • @angelchamate Wow... I just threw up from the horrible grammar that I saw in your post. Please, allow me to correct it.

Sorry! Okay, it is a BEAUTIFUL melody but... It is not artistic at all. Just bussines. (Which makes no sense)

  • A little known Grammy Awards record is held by Blaine who played on 6 consecutive Record of the Year winners:

    Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass in 1966 for "A Taste of Honey";

  • ça tue...

  • this is fabulous, thank you so much for sharing it with us, I have always loved this piece!!

  • my mother always had this playing!!! hated it then love it now!!

  • Una de mis canciones favoritas. Gracias por subirla.

  • WOW i had never heard the song performed that way before

  • @mesquiteguy1221 aww thats so sweet! blessings to her :)

  • @mesquiteguy1221 Pretty dang cool, eh?

  • @cadetstarnoodle Yeah it was Thanks. I have been a H.A.& T.J.B fan since I was about 13 or 14 years old. And still am.

  • Awesome song YAY :-)

  • He named the music group, as TIJUANA BRASS, cause reminded him the MARIACHIS ,the national musicians bands, from Mexico

  • What is this? latin-jazz or what

  • @skynradical only enjoy it

  • @skynradical only enjoy it if

  • I love ,love ,love herb and I love this song!

  • I hear that music playing all the time in the background of most Classic NFL games on ESPN. I have always wondered who was behind it.

  • You know what? I don't think that the musicians are really playing their instruments.

  • INCROYABLE ! INCREDIBLE !

  • is this considered to be "swing" music?

  • Comment removed

  • @cbappa2 where the hell did that come from? Buzz off and cancel your youtube account.

  • @cbappa2 Leave this site-what a tasteless comment !!!!
