Lucas as the commentators put it, is a complete player whereas Sissoko can't pass much and Alonso and Mascherano are more defensive mids than attacking mids. Lucas on the other hand can playmake, hold, defend and score goals. Whether his signing makes other players expendable is yet to be seen. I would think so though.
