@CAMNZ117 Im not starling sailor, but i think it depends on how seriously u are gonna race and how good the opponents are. If u want to win world champions, u should probably think about another class. But ur weight can be advantage, especially if u are not growing anymore. It kinda depends on how windy it is in New Zealand, if its often more than 15knts i dont think ur weight is a probalem
@CAMNZ117 I'm probably just about to start sailing a starling, but for your height/weight I'd suggest a Laser with a 4.7 rig. However, the best source of info is at your local sailing club, I'd suggest just hanging around and making friends there. That's what I did, it definitely worked. Have fun sailing!
this is in dunededin harbour off Vauxhall Yacht Club. It was about 25 knots gusting 30 knots. The race got cancelled so the more experienced guys headed out anyway
