Rachel Maddow is predictable. She follows every liberal issue down the line. She's not an independent or original thinker. Keith Olbermann has been a success because of his objectivity - he doesn't idealogize reality as much as people think. But Maddow is different. I want critical analysis in a network, not a cable version of "The Nation".

"What's wrong with being liberal?" Nothing. But the people who are thumbing down my comments aren't recognizing that political partisanship and bias have no place in the news. This is the main reason Fox has no credibility. MSNBC shouldn't start doing the same thing. Olbermann raised eyebrows, but Maddow is the tipping point over the edge. If I were wrong then the hosts on networks should start saying who they'll vote for, but you won't see that happen.

The people you are complaining about are pundits. They are opinionated by nature and are there for the purpose of discussion. they are not journalists. Obviously they have Conservative pundits as well like Pat Buchanan and Joe Scarborough(sp?). Maddow is very different from Olbermann. Olbermann will point out something wrong based on facts, Maddow goes beyond that to idealogy. Olbermann will even deny he's liberal and makes the case for how he's equal. You won't hear that from Maddow, she readily admits her liberalism. Olbermann has a long history in tv journalism, Maddow had no credentials and happened to just try talk radio a few years ago. It's not news, her show.

Most of that is true, but tell me one other show where as a liberal pundit has there own show. Fox has one show where a wimp of a liberal can get in a good shot from time to time, but really thats it. Hard ball plays both sides. KO kinda is in the middle but more progresive and Maddow will do what she does best, bring the heat from the left side. The right has all there little neocons on fox, its time we has someone out there fighting for our side.

That's the problem - you're comparing it to Fox. I don't believe MSNBC should respond to Fox by trying to be a liberal counterweight. The truth is good enough as Olbermann has shown, and he's already been accused of being a liberal enough. You can't look to Maddow for critical analysis, she's entirely opinionated. You won't hear Olbermann trashing Evan Bayh as Maddow did recently, just one of countless examples.

KO dose that a little but we need more. She will put on a show that will do that and after watching her sub to KO she will put on a good shot.
