If want to increase your faith .. Rom 10:17. By READING the word. Jesus is the WORD. So when you READ the word it is GOD speaking.. so faith comes! So dont listen to man.. listen, study the word. Faith is the opposite of fear. When we are afraid and wavering in faith one of the best things to do is to give thanks, sing or speak words of thanksgiving. God dwells in our praises. It may be hard to utter those first few words of praise but doing so gives you victory over the enemy and opens the door for God to work.

Faith also comes by hearing.Though from God not always directly related to asking for it,so I don't think asking is the only way to receive faith.
