invest in a drum wrench and a drumdial and crank that head down til it sounds like tiks, then get a remo falams ll snare side head and give it a few cranks, buy a stand, it will help your technique, buy a met, and play through the drum not just on it, work on ur left hand technique and timing, never play faster with ur right hand than u do ur left. not trying to sound like a dick, just giving sum pointers

sure when your not playing that your sticks are one bead with off of the drum. the bead being the tip of your drum stick. and keep your diddles lower it is easier to clean with a snare line that way

Critque:

-Metronome, Invest in one. Your left hand in peticular slowed WAY down.

-Your technique changes as soon as you begin to roll, keep the fingers on, dont change how your hand controls the stick on your left hand.

-The drum sounds awful, tune it, it dosn't give a good reputation to your sound quality.

-Thats another thing, Im sure the drum plays a big part, but work on pulling the sound from the drum, and downstroking it.

Where to begin.....

I think you should put the traditional grip aside and focus on match. If you insist on playing the TG you should pay attention to detail. What roll each finger plays in the grip. You also need to work on turning your forearm more for each note not just the accents. Put your left arm into a 90 angle with your elbow to your side, hands out in front of you, with palm facing the floor. Now turn your forearm so the palm faces the sky. Now turn it so your palm is facing down again

Now repeat this exercise. This is the type of motion you want to have with the sticks in your hands. I still recommend working on match first. Keep your finger (ring & pinky) on the stick.

Please work with a metronome. Also practice exercises, etudes that are within or slightly out your capabilities. Master those before you try to take on more adavanced pieces. Having a solid foundation is the key to playing advanced marching/concert music. It can be boring but it will pay off later, I promise.

Accent to taps. The tempo isn't consistent. Then the right to left hand transition is bad. You take off on var. 1. Use more arm watch the cavaliers play it and try and mimic that. Play bucky diddles along with some music and that will help you out. Try and use your middle finger fulcrum more.
