what was the car covered in..ashes? or did the trooper try putting it out with a combo extinguisher ?? Plus couldn't have the quint parked on an angle to block off the road a little for the safety of everyone since there wasn't another fire apparatus there to do so ?
@chechnya Go stand with your back to traffic moving at 60+MPH thats 5 feet away from you, and tell me how safe you feel. Block of 2, more safety, bigger zone to work in. Screw traffic till the fires out.
only time i was in NJ (im from mass) and i had to drive on this highway... i knew this section looked very familiar cause my hotel was near there... witnessed an accident here right by exit 7.
WHAT THE F*CK!! Sending the probie to throw cones...That's poor freakin leadership...vehicle fires are great learning experiences for younger/newer firefighters as it gets them some controlled knob time...Just goes to so the ignorance of some officers...And before you knock me, I have been a Firefighter for 10 years and 7 of those have been in the capacity of Lt., Capt., and Paramedic Supervisor. I am also certified to National Fire Officer II standards...DON'T BE HATIN' NOW!!
You do have to take into account that in some depts 'probies' aren't permitted to operate lines or tools. And I guess you didn't learn professionalism in any of those classes you took...to bash an officer before you understand their motives...maybe you need some more classes. Just my 2 cents, see you on the next run GTFD.
yes and by state laws 'probies' should not be on state roads period but u cannot sit there and tell me you dept or anyother follow all the 'rules' nobodys perfect
Cop looks like a Nazi officer from a WWII film.

So you're going to block two lanes for a car fire that's on the shoulder? So you're going to back up traffic EVEN more?

@CTFD13 Except the cars aren't going 60+, 15 max I'd say. Normally It would be more than okay to block the lanes IF the people were zooming past.

thanks, i cant wait to get my new black gear, nd its a quint not an engine
BN290 4 years ago
Hmmm, lets think about this. Watch the video again. - 1. Where is the Engine? driving on the right side of the road.
2. What did one of the fire fighters say? Take the right side Joe.
3. What were all the cars on the left doing? They all moved out of the way of the Engine. Again the Engine that was on the Right side of the road.
I am from Maryland not Jersey. So knock of your ignorant comments about Jersy.

wait i am a volly trainin to be an EMT in august but i thought that vehicles had to pull over to the right and come to a complete stop?
ems1cadet 4 years ago
Training to be an EMT...Whether you have 1 month on the job or 20 years, "training" and education NEVER ends.
gsar402b 4 years ago
not only are they supposed to pull over, but they have to reduce there speed to half the speed posted
BN290 4 years ago
They DO HAVE TO pull over, but like the ignorant society of today, they don't....that is one of the biggest problems for any emergency responder...
