Hey I have a american dj fogstorm 1200 hd fog machine, I found out that the house was ripped, I replaced it, it worked but it shoots the fog at random times any suggestions what my problem might be ?
@ruik118 Fog machines are known to shoot a short burst every so often on their own. This is caused by fluid dripping into the heater chamber. Maybe the hose you put on is not a tight fit and is allowing air to leak into it. This could cause the fluid to leak into the heater chamber more often. Other than that it could be the seals are going bad in the pump??? Good Luck!
Good fix, just out of curiosity, is it still working? I'm trying to fix a V920 mini fogger from visual effects. They want $12 ea for thermostat and thermal fuse. I found the exact thermal fuse for a dollar on a components site but cant find a thermostat. It says 230 on the bottom. Think thats degrees C?
@ImMELG Yup, it is still working...... you wouldn't even know it had an electric oven thermostat inside its case. I would suggest contacting the manufacturers tech line (if they have one) and ask at what temperature the heater reaches before cut-off just so you are sure. Although $12 for the thermostat is not bad, you might just want to get the factory one. Chauvet would not just sell me the thermostat, I had to buy the heater too... Good luck and let me know how you make out!
