Still rolling on the floor from your "The Radio" and "The Dance" tales! Mitch and I were in your back yard (pre pool) playing "catch"(?) and you came running out of the house to inform us that we were mintues away from WW3...you were clearly upset. You retreated back into the house and Mitch and I continued about our business, commenting that you had really "lost it". My God, was it the Cuban Missle Crisis?
Enjoying all your tunes. Hope all is going well for you and yours.
the Giants hadn't moved to SF yet! it was 1957 and Hank Aaron and the Braves beat the Yankees in the Series and I was hooked! been a Giants fan since early 60's, though!!!
As a lifelong guitarist In my fifties, I still break out this tune from my guitarist's roots repertiore now and then. This song is a true classic and the man behind it is a class act. Schwaber is right, I like this acoustic version better than Tommy Tutone's, going to check out iTunes for it. Thanks for sharing, Mr. Call.

Thanks for the real story, Alex. I like your version better than Tommy Tutone's to be honest. I am a HUGE Clover fan. Loved that band and I so wish that I could find copies of the records. Most of them seem to be out of print. I am one of the guitar players in Lloyd Cole's new band the Small Ensemble. Maybe we'll meet on the road one day!

This is all well and good, but it doesn't explain why you were a Milwaukee Braves fan when you were a kid.
