  • Sounds like thrash metal legends Nuclear Assault got "BUTT F*CKed"

  • WICKED!!!

  • Who else thinks this sounds like Picture Of Beauty & Innocence (Intro)/Commiserating The Celebration from Forest of Equilibrium.

  • @zammylot

Man you're so damn right, the beginning is very similar to Commiserating The Celebration.

  • I NEED THIS ALBUM NOW!!!!!!!!

  • Dave Grohl did a spot on awesome job giving Cathedral The Props they deserve. Doom on!

  • It's a pity Probot was just a one-off...so many awesome songs on that album.

Am I the only one who thinks this song sounds a lot like vintage Black Sabbath? Listen to this and then War Pigs or the self-titled song, there's a definite parallel there in both the sound and the lyrical themes.

Oh, and cover picture kicks so much ass.

  • @EnvisionerWill as soon as the guitar struck the first note black sabbath instantly came to mind. no idea why, but hey i'm not questioning it, It's an awesome song.

  • @Masterofthesixstring thic an only mean something.. this is real heavy metal!.

  • @Masterofthesixstring I'm thinking you thought Black Sabbath the song or maybe the start to Iron man, i thought the same thing haha

  • @EnvisionerWill Yeah, sound like the down tunned and slower paced songs from the Vol. 4 album...

I totally agree with you... sounds like a homage to Black Sabbath right from the start!

    Cheers.

  • the artwork reminds me of the mechanical brutes from mazinger z xD

  • Super album, You guys should check "Iommy" album .

  • Well Probot is a side project of David Grohl, he wrote a song to each band that he has liked and asked them to sing on that song on his album. awesome album

  • wrote the music

  • What the fuck are you guys talking about? This has nothing to do with Soundarden. This is Lee Dorrian, of Napalm Death fame. Not everything's about your grunge.

  • @SharinganMan

Kim Thayill of soundgarden on guitars mate. And soundgarden were a metal band, they just happened to be in seattle when nirvana blew up, therefore "grunge"? And grohl worte the music, mr dorrian only the lyrics and awesome vocal performance

  • OMG!! this is so cool!!

  • This is Lee Dorrian lol Had nothing to do with Soundgarden there is no comparison at all

  • i thought i wuzz nutz for a sec.....thx...lll unload

  • @DoctorP1 Yeah, I think the reason why there is so much discussion about Soundgarden is because their guitarist played this track.

  • wasn't conrad lant in this band?

  • @Woulv92 he played on the first track on the album, "Centuries Of Sin", he doesn't play on the whole thing

  • So.. the guy from Nirvana and the guy from Soungarden got together and it sounded like the Melvins?

    Huh. Okay. Sounds pretty cool.

  • @begrackled haha, pretty much

  • Who/what the fuck are you talking about? Its fuckin Lee Dorrian giving life to this shit! have some respect..

  • 3:47 - awesome.

  • lonely as you?

  • around 1.35 it sounds like a foo fighters song, i cant put my finger on which one, but that riff is re-used for sure.

  • @poopalarge

hey mate, the riff at 1 35 sounds a lot like 'lonely as you' (from one by one) its the riff before the chorus hits!

  • @gweetarshredder yeah, that's the one for sure :)

  • dad

  • Sry, dad made me say that.

  • @WPEreport punch your dad for listening to this even though he thought it was that bad

  • This music is bad. lol

  • Fuckin awesome, The singer almost sounds like Dave but not quite. I wonder how it would sound if Dave sung it, but regardless, PROBOT FUCKIN RULES, especially this song

  • guitar AWESOME singin sucks sounds like me in the shower lol

  • @xxshino123: guess you're famed music critic, aren't you? ever heard about a certain Lee Dorrian? why would ever Dave have called him, if hadn't he been among the godfathers of this genre?

  • fricken sick album cover

  • who the fuck is lee dorrian? Kim Thayil > lee dorrian

  • @DenOfWhasps Your pop music is great.

  • @lstop1day9243 While Lee is good, Soundgarden is no fucking pop music.

  • @DenOfWhasps who the fuck are you

  • second best, after the mighty voivod man

  • Kim Thayil is a badass mofo on guitar!!

  • Thayil is EPIC!!!!!

  • Thayil agree guitar!

    Kim rlz!

  • cool...kind of Melvis,

  • Awesome Lee Dorrian!

  • I think the album was one hell of a "hit and miss"-fare with all-time favourite singers not being able to save their tracks being mediocre at best(King Diamond & Tom G Warrior being first ones to come in mind) but this is without a doubt best track in it.

  • i think Probot can do with metal what The Gorillaz did with alternative/rap (if u dont know wat i mean) The Gorillaz main vocalist is form the band Blur, he gets 2gether with underground rap artists n u hav a Gorillaz album

  • My god I love Lee Dorrian!

  • yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kim thayil is beast!!! kim thayil at his best! soundgarden should definitely reuinite

  • KIm owns

who ever doesnt agree that Soundgarden should reunite should be punched in the face.....repeatedly

  • # 1 i spelled reunite wrong

#2 what you said wuz right... when i first heard black hole sun im like where can i get this crap!!! pretty noose is good too! bottom line: kim was one of best guitarists alive

  • Well... the reunion's ON now! Thank God.

  • @groovebrew AWSOME!

  • @Reptillianrouge they just did bro

  • @Reptillianrouge

Soundgarden is one of the best rock bands... EVER

  • @Reptillianrouge thank god they did!! new album coming soon!!!

  • @Reptillianrouge well good news :D

  • @billnyetheflyersguy Soundgarden is back together now.

  • Kim Thayil is a monster on guitar SOUNDGARDEN PLEASE REUNITE

  • bella canzone!

  • Sounds too much like Grohl wanted to write a Cathedral song Dorrian said cool to doing it to sell some Cathedral albums to any Foo Fighter fans who liked it......Good marketing ploy....LONG LIVE CATHEDRAL!!!!!

  • love the riff at 3:47 it always makes my day better

  • great fuckin song!

  • if i could make love to this song i would.

  • love those guitars in the beginning ^.^

  • Una gran, gran cancion, Awebo!!!

  • it sounds like sex, good sex :D

  • great idea

  • Grrr....geil!

  • Thank you Soooo much for adding these Probot videos without them my life would be less metal

  • wow1 kim thayil in his

    typical Iommi like/Style guitar!!!

  • kim thayil! where the fuck are youuu

  • he's too good for our pathetic ears. i feel guilty listening to such a genius... there's no way i deserve to hear such brilliance.

  • @PerennialLucidity Oh come on....it's not like he's Danny Carey or Neil Peart... Very good though.

  • @CBurton thayil, not grohl! dave's pretty much the coolest guy on earth but not up there with the greatest drummers by a long shot.

  • @PerennialLucidity you got a point there buddy !!

  • His beard is actually a black hole, and after leaving Soundgarden, he was absorbed back into it.

  • Yea this is a pretty strange album.

I guess the point was just a side project, where he can just have different vocalists just for fun.

Usually side projects are for fun.

But regardless, this IS a good album. Albeit very strange indeed

  • Grohl has sleeping Dorrians homes floor when he was young, thats why he know Dorrian.

Thats was maybe when Grohl plays Scream.

  • What the hell ever happened to Kim, anyway? It's like he totally stopped making music. (Well, for the most part)

  • He played guitar on a few tracks of the SunnO))) and Boris collaboration album, "Altar".

  • i'm into grunge and doom/death metal but this band did something very amazing and different! a mixture of heavy grunge and doom. total disaster in a good way of course!

  • DUDE ITS KIM THAYIL!

  • what band is he from i know it but i cant think of it

  • The singer is from Napalm Death and Cathedral.

  • It's former singer of Napalm Death. And it's amazing how different are the vocal styles in the 2 bands

  • Wow, Grohl writes a killer doom song.

  • Its basically just a rehash of the Cathedral song Picture Of Beauty & Innocence, only with alot less riffs.

  • Yeah, that's true. Then again, that's my favourite Cathedral track.

  • Picture Of Beauty & Innocence is the acoustic intro. The name of the first song in the album is Conmiserating The Celebration. And yes. This amazing song Ice Cold Man reminds of Conmiserating The Celebration

  • Yeah, I know. I was going to point that out, but I knew what he meant. Forest of Equilibrium is my favourite album of all time, after all. :)

  • ummmm living in obscurity? and thats the whole point, they didnt measure success by money or fame, they just wanted to play music to their fanbase. all of those bands, im sure, were happy to become rich and famous but i dont think thats how they intended when they started. glam rock's goal was sex, money, and fame. .. bit of a difference m8

  • this is just a project band bro.

  • Kim Thayil was a monster guitarist, some mindblowing work with Soundgarden. I wish they would reunite. Soundgarden changed my life, more so than Nirvana even. I preferred bands like Soundgarden and Nirvana and Pearl Jam to Metallica. Metallica have no ideals or principles, theyre devoid of any principles. Whereas these bands were amazing.

  • pearl jam's problem is that they try to stand for every cause. no one cares about politics in music, we just want something to shake our goddamn eardrums.

  • fucking right .something just like this.......awesome album

  • Great song. Bought this CD some years ago on a whim. Great decision. Also my first King Diamond experience. God, I love that man.

  • Slipped upon this one...Ended up checking out the entire Probot album...Dave Grohl is god!

  • oh yeh this is stuff reminiscent of Sabbath and other similar bands!

i think grohl and thayil wrk good together! AND i also think people need to give Lee Dorian a break- i dnt listen to cathedral or any of his stuff- but i dnt think his vocals are that bad!

actually they compliment the slow, heavy and melodic sound given frm the drums and guitars!

  • yeah dude, lee dorrian is doom obsessed! his stuff with cathedral is quite frankly godly.

plus, grohl's drumming on the album kicked arse and kim thayil pwns too

  • Sound a little Bloodrock to me.

  • reminds me of sabbath

  • not as tasteful as FETO. YARLARLARLALAARRRRR! YAAALAAALAAALAAALAAARRRRRRR!

  • Man I fucking knew right away the artwork was from the same artist who did the artwork for Voivod. Any chance of a guest appearance of Lee Dorrian with Napalm Death by the way? Since both Cathedral and ND play at Wacken..

  • that's cause Kim Thayil was soundgarden's guitarist

  • sounds like a cross between soundgarden and the melvins

  • Comment removed

  • lee dorrians a better singer than ull ever be, any of you, so stfu

  • this is pretty good, but it needs more of kim's insane solos.

  • kim? this was all Dave Grohl, right?

  • no this song features Kim Thayil from Soundgarden on guitar but most are all Dave

  • All of the Music is written by Dave Grohl. Dave sure knows how to write a killer metal album.

  • that's because while cobain and novoselic were melvins and vaselines junkies, dave is an admitted metalhead. one of the biggest reasons this record ever saw light was because dave wanted a chance to work with his heroes

  • Ghrol wrote everything exept for the vocals.

In Ice Cold Man and Sweet Dreams Thayil plays an additional guitar.

  • Lemmy played bass on "Shake Your Blood", I think. But other than that, you're right.

  • One of my favorite songs...

  • I play guitar way too much like Thayil.

Unfortunately for me I could never solo like the Legendary man.

  • i can't believe there's so many people who dislike Lee's "Doom" vocal. The vocal delivery in the Cathedral songs "Soul Sacrifice" and "Tree of Life" and Death give me goosebumps every time.

  • awesome !!!

  • love this song <3

  • Lee Dorian's voice here (and in Cathedral) normaly makes me laugh. The only albums I own with his voice are Scum and From Enslavement to Obliteration. Clearly different... He still kicks arse though

  • Fucking killer Anthem!

  • Fuckin' heavy

  • LEE DORRIAN FUCKIN' RULES!!!!!!!

  • What a heavy song

  • great song, more sabbath than last 20 years sabbath!!!!!!!!

  • Gotta love grohl on the drums and kim on the guitar together

  • awesomeness!

  • Euphoria Morning was pretty good. I agree with you about Carry On...absolute trash.

  • You are VERY wrong when it comes to the vocals, it's Lee Dorrian (Napalm Death, Cathedral) how can you say that this is bad singing. Besides have you been making music for Twenty years and have earned respect from both of the Grindcore and Doom metal genres? No? Did not think so, now shut your fucking mouth.

  • yeah mistar expert man!

  • Great song!! Dave Grohl rules!! La mejor cancion del disco!!
