Can I use regular red pepper flakes or powder at regular grocery stores to use? Will it take good? I have never made kimchi before, but I want to give it a try.

@EnjoyingLife100 Hello, I am afraid the taste and texture of the hot pepper flakes or paprika is not the same as the Korean coarse hot pepper powder. The red pepper powder is available in your local Korean market or if you don't have it locally, it is also available on the web. Please let me know how it goes.
