Well done. I use the Spanish scale (or Phyrygian Dominant scale), but I flat the ninth. That is, instead of playing a C Major scale, I would play:

C Db E F G Ab Bb C

except I prefer B natural to the B flat (which makes it into a Byzantine scale).
