  • This looks like NC.I love it when the highland games happen at granfather mt in NC.

  • wtf ?

  • you dont actually play "danny boy much. i only heard it for like 2 seconds 3 times in that whole thing

  • @Flamorgan Yes i agree the tune was said to have been written by a poet or artist who was looked after by the the last O Cathan chieftain. The O Cathan was taken by the English to Dublin shortly after the flight of the earls in1607.He was held in Dublin castle there until his death in 1628.The song was called O Cathans lament written by the poet mourning the loss of his Cheiftain. The words can still be found online but who knows if there correct.

  • I Prefer the origianal sorry your just overdoing it .

  • My car sounds very similar when a belt is loose.

  • @Flamorgan Unless I'm mistaken, they're the same song. Danny Boy just sounds less silly to say aloud.

  • Derry air !

  • great job!!!!!

  • Needs some work

  • I think if Jimi Hendrix played the pipes, THIS WOULD SOOO BE LIKE HOW IT WOULD SOUND, AWESOME!!!!!!

  • Knowing the sad lyrics to Danny Boy, thinking about them, as I hear this oh so mournful song, I have tears rolling down both cheeks. It's the 10 year anniversary of 9/11 today! So I’m filled with emotions. This particular rendition of Danny Boy is especially moving! I actually prefer the over-modulated audio distortion, and the intertwining screechy overtones. It fits my gloomy and somewhat angry mood. Like a complex heartfelt raw Hendrix song, it taps into my inner soul. Thank you!

  • I might just kill myself so you can play at my funeral. That'd be sweet!

  • thank you for this! :)

  • He' wearing HLI.

  • whay uniform is he wearing?

  • That's nul.... i be better ...

  • dont tap the chanter to much!! play more with love on the chanter

  • Great! ;-) Would you like to record the same version with another mic? Thanks for sharing!

  • awesome

  • Very good! Enjoyed it, would of sounded better with a better mic.

  • annoying

  • ! Cool!!.

  • You play like a bagpiping jimi hendrix.

  • I used to get the same sound quality problems from my old analogue video camcorder. So long as the audio recording head in your camcorder is'nt buggered (a drop can phuck it up), try an external mike, or if you're playing a full volume chanter reed try having your back to the camera so that your body absorbs some decibles, or move further away from the camera i.e. 20 yards.

Your actual playing sounds great (good timing/tone etc).

    Hope this is helpful.

  • I stick a gob of 'mack's earpugs' on the mic-holes.

  • A+ for originality! I like!

Gotta get a new microphone though, the video sure dosent do your tone justice.

  • Thank you.

Any suggestions on adjusting my mic? It's the internal mic on the camera.

  • maybe u should try getting a real microphone, and dont stand so close :)

  • @warpiperman1 yeah i have to say the mic is RUINING the video :/

    great playing otherwise though

    5*

  • @warpiperman1 I don't know if anyone replied this, but...

Clipping and distortion occurs mainly due to the loudness of the recorded sound. I didn't realize these pipes were so LOUD!

You could try blocking the mic with some kind of soundproof foam material, stuck with duct tape. It will greatly decrease the mic sensitivity,

Afterwards, you may have to augment the volume within the video editing software, but at least there will be no clipping nor distortion.

    Hope it helps.

  • @warpiperman1 Try going into the recording menu and adjusting the volume to automatic - that might work. (Check out the instruction manual!!)
