  • you always can try ComputeMark to see if your GPU is fast enough

  • I get 8-12 fps on my 6990M. It doesn't look nearly as nice as the video.

  • My 6990M only shows a black box. The GPU works really hard and the whole computer slows down, but I only see a black box.

  • too bad it won't run in my GTX580 =(

  • I tried it, it lagged a bit on my ATI HD 5550... Any suggestions of problem?

  • @MatheusMK3 This demo was made to run fluid on a HD 5870, as the calculations require a lot of memory bandwidth, lower end graphics cards indeed show lag.

  • sick

  • That is absolutely insane!

  • Runs fine on Vista 64 bit, remember this is DX11 only, so needs a DX11 card, currently this is only ATI 5xxx. In a few weeks also Nvidia will have DX11 cards

  • @jvlietinck ah sorry then :) thought only 1.2 version of fluid 3D was DX11. My card is ATI HD4870X2 so is a DX10. Is impossible to do this on with the DX10?

(will upgrade my ati with a DX11 nVidia... i hate my ati...)

  • Dont even load on Win 7 Pro 64. Tried to start it on compatibility mode (XP/Vista).... still dont work. Maybe this program is not compatibile with a 64bit environment. Any fix? :)

  • Just tried out the demo. Fucking amazing.

  • Very good!

"Would it have been worth while...

to have squeezed the universe into a ball..."

  • Wow this looks amazing and thanks for providing the source to.

the problem is that my computer doesnt support directx 11 =(

  • Can't believe you do that realtime. I'm an FX artist and this is the best thing I've ever seen.

  • This is absolutely amazing, excellent work! Does this run on DirectX 11 hardware only? I'd love to see a version capable of running on DirectX 10 hardware. I've been interested in volumetric effects for quite some time and I'm hoping they start becoming more mainstream in things like gaming.

  • give me a maya fluid plugin that supports cuda and I would be happy for ever :D

  • Thanks :-) I've added another version that looks more like smoke, without the artifacts.

  • Hey, that looks great! The limiter can be tricky to get right, but should help with some of the artifacts.

  • spectacular! Would be nice if "fire" would illuminate the "smoke"

  • B-R-U-T-A-L

  • OMG, looks fabulous.

  • Awesome simulation :). I love its fire-like appearance.

  • Extremely cool looking!

    Can't test it myself because I don't have a DX11 Gcard yet :(
