Apparently Susan Lucci recognized the Susan part of the name, but still has yet to consistently recognize her own surname. Now, if she had only continued to walk onto stage and taken the Emmy from the other woman, screaming, "But it should be me!", then it would have been a briefly, and moderately, amusing moment.

While I am not sure about this clip for that year, I highly doubt that Lucci deserved so many nominations. Also, while Flannery was good that year, Colleen (Barbara) from ATWT really deserved to win. Her character's marriage broke up, she was burned in a fire and also went a little nutty. The actress was great and had so many powerful performances.

I was watching also and remember thinking how I would have felt if I were Susan Lucci. For someone to tell her apparently that it was her, not Flannery and then to cue AMC's music was unacceptable. Talk about incompetence or a really sick joke!

I remember when this happened and just feeling so horrible for Susan Lucci. SHAME ON the producers for not just ONE mistake but TWO! Its bad enough you cut the camera to Lucci after the name was announced but then you tell the orchestra leader to cue up "All My Children's" theme. Of course those two unintellagable B & B people presenting the award didn't help either (control yourselves people!) But the blame mainly goes to producers....

The most famous and most talented actress in daytime history. She got ONE in 1999. I guess being the best and highest paid in the biz, with one Emmy will go down in history. I think Elvis has only one Grammy. Miss Streep has 16 nominations and two wins. Who who ever doubt that she is the greatest/best actress of her generation?

The same goes for Miss Lucci.

Soaps are a dying breed. but when ever someone says who was the biggest star in daytime drama ever, the will say Miss Susan Lucci.

Not to mention that it was very clear (at least to me) that Justin Torkleson and Adrienne said Susan FLANNERY.
