Yes, if you have history of riding motorbikes you'll fly through it! I've learnt gears off-roading so I save quite a lot of money on learning the gears. :-)
@nitroghost666 No this is for a full licence. CBT is much simpler and if the trainer thinks you are too nervous or not skilled enough to do the road practical then they will let you keep practising (this can vary from place to place). It's almost impossible to fail a CBT as it's not really a test, just training to make sure you can handle the bike in a safe way on the road. I fell off my Scooter during my CBT and I still passed haha.
What sight check means? If I have a little short-sightedness I'wont pass that check? I will have to read something from long range or sommething like that?
*what if i pass one of the modules and fail the other?do i get to do the failed one again?
You have to pass both modules within the two year life of your theory pass certificate, if you pass module 1 but then fail module 2 you may re-take module 2 but you must wait 10 working days. If your theory test expires you have to take both modules again. If you are upgrading an existing full MC entitlement you have six months from the date you passed module 1 to pass module 2.
A CBT certificate is valid for two years. If you fail either part of your practical test your CBT is still valid, providing you are still within the two year life of the certificate. You must have a valid CBT certificate to take both parts of your practical test. You may re-take your CBT at any time if it expires before you pass both parts of your practical test.
@hirenvaland101 *ad in the module 1 if i do a manuvere wrong can i do it again?
Generally no you cannot repeat an exercise, the only exceptions are that you may have up to two attempts at the two high speed exercises if you do not meet the minimum speed requirement on your first attempt, this is providing you have not committed any serious or dangerous faults on those two manoeuvres
Well it would have been fun to do the mod 2 except my examiner gave me a major in hesitation for NOT pulling out in-front of a Lorry that was flashing at me. To be honest I am very angry now as I only got 1 other minor. Now I have to pay another £80 to be tested again.
@superjackhamm3 ithink that is quite harsh i have always kept the saying in my head of " if in doubt dont pull out" in a way you followed the rules of the highway code stating the flashing of lights are to be used as a warning of your presence not for giving people the nod to go!
the whole motorcycle test is a lot of hoops to jump through and all about the money.......good luck for the future
Is the motorcycle test for a full motorcycle test? or for 17 years and up? an if not then what licence does a 17 year old need before getting a full motorcycle licence?
If you are 16 and want to ride a moped or scooter on the road you must have completed a compulsory basic training course to validate your provisional licence.
A moped is a motorcycle that has the following features:
- maximum design speed not exceeding 50 kilometres per hour (km/h) (about 31 miles per hour (mph)
- an engine capacity no greater than 50 cc
- it can be moved by pedals, if the moped was first used before 1 September 1977
You can only hold a provisional moped licence if you are at least 16 years old. It entitles you to ride a moped on the road as a learner with L-plates (D-plates in Wales) but you must not carry a pillion passenger or go on a motorway.
Your provisional licence is only valid when you have the DL 196 certificate issued on completion of compulsory basic training (CBT) by an approved training body (ATB).

A CBT certificate obtained on a moped is also valid for motorcycles once the rider has reached the age of 17 years and has the necessary licence.
If you want to ride a moped on the road without displaying L-plates you must take and pass a theory and practical driving test.
