  • If you distilled you the spirits several times and then filter would it be considered vodka?

    Thanks for the vid.

  • who cares if it is illegal in your country the govenrment restricts such rights for control

  • You make one hell of a drinking buddy. lol "Whos got the booze we are out of money"...Go to this guy...

  • Can you drink it at 90%?

  • @ibeulahim Dont try it dude it will poison your system!

  • Thin, write a number on there poured a cm? Hopper to the full!

  • is that baking yeast?

  • NEW ZEALAND ROCKS HARD!!!! i should move there!!!

  • how do you ferment water?

  • @K01051998 He,s just showed you you big donkey!

  • @Hannible100 you need something like fruit or veg to ferment water cant rot

  • @K01051998 Dude sorry i called you a donkey i had been drinking lol. No all you need to make alco is sugar warm water and yeast. Put the sugar in warm water with yeast leave it for about a week or so then put it in the boiler like he did. Its the same as making home brew beer but without the flaivour. Hope this helps stay cool dude Hann.

  • Great video. THanks for sharing.

  • Not sure if I would use refined sugar. If you used molasses you would get real rum, it is cheap too when you buy it from agri wholesalers.

  • Hi dude good vid. How much was the distiler i think it was a eurodistiller where did you get that please?

  • I need someone who has done this to tell me if it worked....or failed because im trying to do this to save some money and to have a good time...thanks whoever...i love you(no homo)

  • And if you use a closed system ( vacuum ) then you don't need to boil it with external heat like electric or gas, you can simple use the hot water in your sink to do the job. And also by doing it as a vacuum then there is a better taste, better smell and less odor in your apartment...

  • excellent video, I was looking to make some coonta kindi mixers, any ideas? thanks

  • kiljua... mix the undistilled product with some juice concetrate = delicious and easy to make + cheap if u wanna get drunk

  • dude, you should re edit this thing and fix the fucking music volume. To loud compared to your voice.

  • when did he add the bleach? what minute does anyone know? thanks

  • @turnuon79 Bleach goes in the final product to give it that zing,

  • ok i kneed the recipe u just did but knocked down for a 1gal jug plz

  • so if u just want vodka u leave it without flavouring

  • Comment removed

  • make to sure to add ventilation. if not, it will explode.

  • what do you do about the horrible smell ?

  • ...don´t you get rid of the first part "the head" of the destillation?...

    good video pal.

  • Cool vid

One tip you have to cook all the water before adding the yeast for three reaons:

    1) boiled water is free of bacteria, viruses and wild yeasts. (let it cook long enough)

    2) The sugar will disolve much quicker (and better) when in contact with high temp water.

    3) The sugar doesn't come out the package steryle, therefore also let i cook or get it in contact with warm water for a longer period of time.

    greetz

  • is 22oc for making the wash cold ? some1 help

  • uhhhhh look at 2:40 what is floating in the water?

  • How is this homemade , if everything he uses is man made 1st before it even gets to ur home

  • @Itsmenow1143 That is just a stupid question. Home made brew means an alcoholic drink (beer, wine, spirit), that is made and fermented at home by an individual rather than at a brewery by a license brewer.

  • Good on you bro and thanks for posting. I've just started this myself and loving the new hobby. Especially the end product... LOL... Cheers bud!

  • Glad to see you used charcoal after your ferment you can pour it right into the mix and the diesol will drop it too .-And it best to pour some into a glass and hold it up to your eye while looking into the glass if it irritates the eye it has acitone and must not be consumed yet .

  • Bleach = real bad idea.... why don't you just go buy rubbing alcohol?

  • @dljones33

He's only using the bleach to sanitize anything that will come in contact with the brew before, and while, it's fermenting. He will have diluted ~5mL bleach per 1L of water then soaked equipment for 20 minutes or so and then rinse with boiling water.

  • 2:40 big black lump floating in it ! what is it?

  • Excellent video mate.

  • awesome

  • This is bad for you!!!! as you know vodka is made from sugar the sugar that you are using can make a person blind. In order for you to make it clean you can use anything that contains sugar naturally, the best is RAISIN so the same process expept the sugar ad raison and leave it for a week or 2 until it gets ready or add yeast to make it faster. and then the same process.

  • @ArvinRedlineexpress only foods high in pectin, a structural heteropolysaccharide which is mainly extracted from citrus fruit, can produce a lot of Methanol. Methanol is a poison to your optic nerves, so dont be posting comment about scientific fact before you do your own research

  • @ArvinRedlineexpress You are an idiot.

  • great vid man! I'm currently learning how to make my own as well. Sure there will be cost, but there's just something really gratifying about making your own spirits! Besides after our political leaders finish destroying the world as we know it, that shit will be a great tool for trade.

  • Hi at 1:46 what do you mean by 251 @ 22 degrees, i just wanna know the 251.. Thanks

  • Home made normaly don't cost you 1 000 000 $ for equipment

  • @DairyNZ: When you calculate the cost of a bottle are you including the overall cost of the distilling and filtering systems used? I find those to be exceedingly cost prohibitive and have ultimately stopped me from pursuing home distilling. I expect after a few hundred bottles the stuff will start to pay off. Has it paid off yet?

  • @yakult244 someones a troll

  • Nice one man ...

  • Okay here's a little rule of common sense for everyone. If you don't know what you're talking about... just don't talk. The world is confusing enough without all of the uneducated opinions given so freely. The setup that he used will make Ethyl alcohol, the oldest and purest form of alcohol in history. Tap water can be used, tho distilled water is preferred as it is pure. Cornmeal, fruit and various other ingredients can be added to the mash, however they are purely for flavor.

  • great video mate very helpfull

  • @Snakeman - I brew and I use tap... It might have an affect but mine makes alcohol. It might be different in some areas. Plus if you boil the water you burn off alot of the Chlorine.

  • ummmmmm you need the corn meal or fruit to feed the yeast. you dont feed the yeast.......you dont get alchohol. and you cant use tap water because most tap water is chlorinated slightly and chlorine kills yeast. again.....no yeast, no alchohol. nice try dude

  • @snakeman6459 sugar feeds yeast. fruit contains sugar.

  • @snakeman6459 lmfao dude ur right cuse my uncle my his famus pache bur but a shit load diffrent from those ruckys it makes it look like the oregenel vidka & wisske but more stronger then them two conbinde & he eve tryed to sell his praducd to thoses company but they got a bit gelous & atk him can u belive that all he tride to do is make some nikkles & dimes on the side & he gave me the ingerdens to them u just need hobbzz & other stuff :D

  • @snakeman6459 Turbo Yeast packets have the necessary nutrients for the yeast and are designed for cane sugar only washes. How do you know his water is not from a well in his backyard?

  • How much does it cost you to make a batch of the alcohol? I'm thinking of buying fermentation vats but I'm not sure where to get them or how much everything costs. I'm in the UK, so I doubt you'll know any local suppliers :)

  • Helpful video. Terrible music.

  • ok, i'm hoping that cuz of his accent that he doesn't live in the usa, otherwise what he's doing is totally illegal. bootlegging laws suck. you can only make wine and beer legally for home use

  • HEy bud stop being a sissy and speaking so low. be a man so we can hear what you are saying or get the fuck off teh air

  • hang on ...no corn meal or fruit ? just water and sugur ? you sure this works ?

  • You cant get away with supermarket yeast...

  • Nice informative video. They keep raising taxes on booze here in the USA, forcing many to make their own. Instead of Turbo Yeast, we use inexpensive wine yeast and use an old stainless steel pressure cooker modified with copper lines etc. Thank You

  • @RepWarz I want to try a shot but a smooth one.40% sounds good.If I was ripped I might try a shot of the pure one just to see how it is.Pure fire I bet.Never mind I can feel the burn just thinking about it:)

  • Do you HAVE to distill the fermented stuff?

and How much yeast and sugar would you say to put in a 16 oz jug?

  • Where can i buy the Carbon RefluxFilter?

  • wtf is wrong with your audio?

  • Cool, you don´t hapen to know how to make Fine quality whisky?

  • WHY THE FUCK did he cut it down to 40%??!!!!

  • i see you are using 4kg of sugar per 25L you can easally use 6kg and het a higher % wash, i use 8kg to get to 17-18%

  • But, can I use normal (bread) Yeast?

  • @Ubojica6661 Yes, but your wash will not have a high alcohol content.

  • most fruit juice contains more methanol than properly prepared home made spirits.

I get people calling it "poison" every time I bring it out. Doesn't stop them drinking it though..Methanol is present to some degree even in the stuff you buy from the shops, as are other impurities. The only way to get it out would be some form of column chromatography, which distillers don't use.

Education is important but generally its a safe hobby.

  • 6000gram of sugar in 25 liters of water (@240grams of sugar per liter) I think will give an final alcohol concentration of around 12%. The bread yeast may work but it will take forever to finish.

  • Drinking homemade alcohol is extremely dangerous (as well as home-made explosives). Homemade alcohol is not so clean and besides ethanol contains other components, some of which are highly toxic (eg, methanol). To ensure purity of the product on official factories used sophisticated equipment, and then the product was tested in the laboratory. Due to the use of homemade alcohol can lose vision or even fatally poisoned

  • @butlerov that is pure bs , home made alcohol is just as fine, probably even better then store bought alcohol. i have made my own spirits for a couple of years now and i am not blind nor do i have korsakov or name it.....i even did not die!

  • @butlerov

It was run through a charcoal filter before being consumed you ignorant homebrew idiot.

    Do some research.

  • @grahamlong I do not need further research. I spent some time working in a company producing alcohol (tatspirtprom) as an engineer in the Automation department and many times went directly to the plant. I touched the wheat with my hands and saw the bottling. Everyone decides for himself, but the authors of such movies must first give a warning

  • Methanol is not very abundant until fruits are used as the main fermentable, and even then, most of the methanol will come off in the first few minutes. A good distiller will dispose of the initial distillate. Even if one doesn't, it isn't dangerous. Many commercial distilleries don't bother.

Guess what the antidote for methanol poisoning is?

    Its ethanol.

Unless you add methanol, you aren't going blind, and none of the other byproducts are abundant enough to be dangerous.

  • damn i would rather just go to the 711

  • @OhPlainNogart if i could buy it I would.

  • Why would you cut it down?

  • home brewing is so much fun. DO IT!

  • only lazy people dont home brew, buy a new car with the money saved or go to AA ?

  • @jewis2janger so buy a cow rather buying the milk from shop. Make your car, don buy it. It will be cheaper, but you know, nowdays society is a utilitysociety, where you buy utilities. But i make home some wine so im not aganist home brewing

  • yo guys this shit to hard to do.rather go to da bottle stor and buy much cheaper and less work

  • tap water?

  • How can I get the same of buckets? what are they called ?

  • what is the carbon filtering step for??? and dose the ethanol after distillation contain any dangerous levels of methanol??

  • @rawhipshank you usually throw away the 1st little bit, thats where the methanol is

carbon filtering i would imagine helps get rid of any of the off flavors

  • you killed it with the rum extract

  • hi dear

how to change the colour and the taste of spirits to be like wheisky, pleas

  • where did you get all the stuff from, like websites? i notice one was DSE but what about the rest?

  • Funny how so many steps here, and additives etc are avoided entirely by simply following the instructions at the website this video posts at the end. A simple rough math estimate, will tell you that the rum produced was far more trouble and expense than is feasible. Turbo Yeast is awful. Avoid it and avoid the need for carbon filtering.

  • @VITUS5 What yeast is good? I been using turbo yeast and haven't come out with a good product yet..could you advise me on what is good.

  • Where did you buy that still at? I live in the USA and I've never seen one of those around anywhere. It would be nice to find one as that would make it alot easier than having to build your own. Great video mate, I totally enjoyed that!

  • I don't know why but litterally its extremely rare to ever find a video that does a good job on explanation.

This video was helpful and i certainly appreciate it, but with just a tiny bit of work it could be perfect. measurements, no music, and a little more explanation. Then this would be perfect.

It just gets kinda annoying that no one seems to get the concept that people watch instructional videos to do it themself.

  • @GhostInTheShell29 The measurements re t the beginning of the vid. He's using the metric system. Music is a bit loud but the vid is pretty good.

  • @GhostInTheShell29 The measurements are in the beginning of the vid. He's using the metric system. Music is a bit loud but the vid is pretty good. If you can do a better one we would love to see it.

  • So many hate-comments in here. Thank you for a nice vid on making spirits. :)

  • Supervideo...well_thought_out_and_presented...

    Especially_appreciate_the_quite_explanation_of_the_procedures_interspaced_with_really_great_tunes...

  • If you think your such a genius why don't you make a distilling video?

  • Dick Smith Electronics :P

  • fuck the music... speak English you moron.

  • This guy has the communication skills of a 5 year old; and he's more concerned about the music then telling us WTF he's doing. No measurements? The narrative is almost useless. He probably flunked out of grammar school. What a moron.

  • You do not need all that shit.

  • Great Vid Buddy!

  • 2 days later he went blind do to the ethonal.

    jk. but great vid

  • i couldnt wait to find a video to show me how to make spirits .......on second thought after watching this, I have a liquor store on the corner....

  • does the bubbles coming out from the tank smell like shit? I wanna do this at home, but I don't want an apartment smelling like dead cows :D

  • does homebrew whiskey or rum taste yeasty like homwbrew beer?

  • its illegal to sell home made alcohol, right?

  • check youtube user Wineworks for more distilling vids!

  • i made some and it tasted and smelled like rubbing alcohol

  • good video, but anoying gay fucking song

  • i like to use corn meal for my moonshine not straight water and sugar it tastes better cause the yeast breaks down the starches in the corn meal and turns it into sugar along with the suger you add

  • if i use cane sugar, is it rum?

  • @theganjatank actualy spiced rum is made with brown sugar or white sugar with molases.

  • @theganjatank nope, you'll end up with a vodka

  • @iParatrooper isnt vodka made from potatos?

  • this is way too complicated........

  • @DawnofDaybreak, go to the title " how to make moonshine with Bayou Bob and Seminal Joe " here on youtube. They have a small operation that may work for you. they distilled on there stove, but if you live in a dorm room at college just use an electric hot plate. hope this helps!

  • I like the fact that you're posting this video to help us all make some spirits. My problem is that you seem to have equipment that.... the every day person won't have. I am a college student, spurned by ridiculous alcohol prices, and I want to make my own spirits. Preferably with fruits and such. My budget isn't the largest, so I can't afford to drop a pretty penny on a still and have all of this equipment like you. Personal gripes aside, great film, just be sure to lower the music volume.

  • SHIT! THATS A LOT OF YEAST FOR ONE BATCH!!! =O

  • doesn't the alcohol evaporate when you leave the collecting jar open during distillation?

  • haha when it was at 90% I was like =D!!! and then you made it go to 40% I went aww =/ xD

  • ok don't know who u are on the forum but anyway little tip use a cheaper yeast ferment around 16 c lager yeast will take longer but the flavor will be improved even more and rum id be pot stilling but i guess that is your choice

  • glad i live in new zealand its legal and by the way hi from west auckland

  • @tenpolice no its illegal their like Australia USA and most other places of this world

  • @chaosinhell666 no no we are not like other places unless the laws in NZ changed very recently.. distilling spirits for personal consumption is legal... however it is illegal to sell the spirits without a licence :)

  • @thomasmidas lucky you as in au i have to hide my set up and hope the cops dont come a knocking when im stilling their no way i am going to move 50L of wash i the prosess of turning into whiskey or vodka or whatnot but i dont think they would care if ur only doing for ur self

  • @chaosinhell666 u can store up to 200 gallons of brew for personal use in the us...only if u distill does it become taxable=illegal w/o licence

  • @chaosinhell666

X2 man. Some days it sucks living in the "home of the free".

  • good video but the music was so anoying

  • great video , 2 complicated 2 do my self , wish i had a friend who could make alcohal

  • Is there a website where I can order the rum flavors on line. Thanks

  • great vid thanks for uploading it cheers from america

  • thats too much work you do i drink it with the yeast

  • @xkingx2009 well you do still the yeast out anyway

  • Its can be dangerous to use plain ordinary yeast as this can produce unwanted methanol, also read the instructions of your yeast packed, depending on the type you need a temp of either 30 degrees or 40 degrees. If you like rum, dont waste money buying the flavour bottles, use molasses instead of sugar, its also cheaper than sugar.

  • Clear instructions BUT music MUCH, MUCH TOO LOUD

  • SO fucking tired of all the videos I watch having quiet voices, but loud music.

Fucking stop that shit, Watch your videos first before you post them.

  • @TooGoldForThisShit - don't watch them dick head.

  • at 7:33 DICK smith electronics.

  • Nice job. Cheers.

  • Great still and great music!

    You clean the carbon beforehand?

  • if you wanna know how to do it the aesy way, check this: MEIN-SCHNAPS.DE

  • I rather go buy a bottle of Chivas Regal for £15 instead of all that process.... its illegal in the UK anyways

  • How do you dilute the product?

Do you use distilled water to get the alcohol % down to 40?

Once you dilute, do you then run it through the charcoal filter again?

    Thanks!

  • Very good video

  • music is so loud and ur so quit im constaintly changing the volume

  • honestly who cares if it's illegal where you live? who's gonna know what you're doing in the privacy of your own home. I only wish i had all this complicated temperature controlled equipment. Is there a way to make the strong stuff without a commercial still? perhaps a homemade one?

  • @hoovalappa I used a tea kettle, empty dissposable water bottle and a glass. You cut an x about a quarter down from the cap and the a rectangle in the bottom corner. Then you shove the spout through the x and angle the bottle so that everything can fall through the bottom hole. Then I wrapped everything real tight in plastic wrap but be sure yo leave a little hole so it doesnt build up pressure. Then you place a container under the bottle. Lastly you heat your mash and out comes moonshine

  • so to make this spirit, you simply need the sugar, water, and yeast? and also, if i dont have a distiller, what common household item could i use to replace it?

  • @Nickt121111

you need a still to make drinkable alcohol

  • @mewrox99 but you don't for beer or wine

  • legal smegal

  • very nice work :)

  • you had a big swatch of hair floating in your bucket at 2:40. or may have been a small reptile Im not sure

  • Great vid, it can all be done a lot cheaper and a bit less meticulously

with great result though your procedure is immaculate!

    :)

    1. The still can be run at 24-26 degrees Celsius, the yeast dies at around 30 - good to be cleanly but it´s not that critical.

    2. You don´t really need the clearilfier, especially not if you use

    3. A plain water distiller, which is much cheaper, it will burn a

lot faster and will leave more to be taken care of by the

    4. Active coal filter, which you then can...

  • @WasIstDasTELEVISION

use a larger plastic pipe for, the more active coal/

runthrough area and the slower run - the better cleaning.

This setup is less refined (and a lot cheaper) but the end

result depends only on what yeast you use and how efficient

the active coal cleaning is, the coal should be prepared and

boiled through to be activated properly 4-5 times.

Typically you end up with 40-45 proof great tasting alcohol.

    Cheers!

  • I use 25 litres of water bung in the yeast . I have one with a internal heater and one on a matt . I use the turbo yeast exactly the same as in the video . Even the yeast instrutions say's you can use hotter water . I also don't use bleach . i just use dishwashing liquid in hot water no problem . The reflux filter i wouldn't waste my time with i use a cannister set up(like a water filter) that uses more activated carbon . As long as the tempreture in the still doesnt go over 92 deg no probs

  • Wish it was legal here in the states... well then they'd take our rifles...

  • i have no idea why you want top treat the yeast gently . I Use water as hot as it comes out of the tap put the yeast in with 8 kilo's of sugar i use the turbo yeast .It starts to ferment in 10 minutes . 4 days its finished i let it sit for 3 days to clear then distill it i have never lost a batch yet i get 4 litres of alcohol from each wash . Ithink you fart around to much

  • @tommey123 the more sugar you use the more alky you get

  • hmm doesn't the chlorine in tap water kill the yeast

  • @copleygsxr Not if you don't live in a place where the water is only slightly chlorinated.

  • @SluzBag1993 hmmmm

  • @copleygsxr Some places yes, but where I live (Dallas Texas), the water is fine for yeast.

  • that is cool as fuk! how much are them home brew kits? and have you ever tried the 90% stuff! very intreaging indeed! good on ya! awsum!

  • that is cool as fuk! how much are them home brew kits? and have you ever tried the 90% stuff! very intreaging indeed! good on ya! awsum!

  • if u distilled the already distilled liquid would it be twice as strong or is this pointless to do? and if u prefer rum then y not make the mash with molasses and spices instead of sugar water also u say the first part of the distilling is bad for you well how much of that first part should u get rid of so its safe to drink and how will u know when ur out of alcohol in the batch

  • excellent :)

  • ditto

  • wher do you get the equipment from?

  • @shadow21173 - You can buy the entire wine/beer kit on amazon, ebay, or from makebeer(dot)net Usually around a hundred dollars; and so you may want to assemble your own kit and supplies.
