Tim as I always say the Beatles litterly changed my life and sometimes I'm not too sure if it was for the good. But everyone who's ever known me knows that I am a Beatles fanatic and I still am. Their music is still as fresh to me today as it was when I slid out that first 45 or opened that first LP. Strange the things we tend to associate with certain memories in our lives, like PopTarts.
I really like this one Reg. You've always been a talented chap. What would we have done without The Beatles? They certainly changed a lot of lives. Hey, I ate some strawberry pop tarts this morning! ha ha
Wouldn't we all wanna find a land like that & leave all our troubles behind? I dig it! Loved it my buddy Reg! It had that McCartney style bouncy melody & bass line, great sound & cool tune & great guitar ending. Could this be a lost classic from the Magical Mystery Tour movie? lol Could be. ;) It was a fun song to listen to,like an adventure. The video was great too, psycedelic and there's the maestro doing his thing on guitar! You look great too, gotta show more of you. I just Loved it! :)))
@cbrb40 I was sitting at my aunts house one day and she had an old upright piano sitting there. I ran my fingers across the strings against the soundboard and got the inspiration to do this, especially after just getting Magicial Mystery Tour for Christmas. So I sat down and started banging out chords on her piano and then ran home and wrote it on my guitar. I never did anything with it so after all these years I thought I'd do it. Thanks again buddy, Reg
@jhaley12 I love your stories behind the songs Reg,you had it in our from your youth to write songs and get ideas. I can just picture those scenes, what a cool time, getting Magical Mystery Tour for Christmas, those were the days my friend. :)) I think my dad bought us Strawberry Fields & Penny Lane single for Christmas if I can remember,I was about 8 but loved it.
Wow imagine all those years leaving that song like that,it's great that you finally finished it. You inspire us my brother. :))
@cbrb40 my mom had gotten me the album but it was under the tree. i knew what it was so late that night i carefully unwrapped iti, played it several times , read the booklet in it and then rewrapped it and put it back. She never knew it or she would have killed me lol. Everytime the Beatles realeased a new song it was like the biggest event of my life waiting till I could get it. When ever i see or hear "poptarts" i think of Strawberry Fields to this day. wonderful memories.
@jhaley12 haha love that story! You couldn't wait even one more day. Hey I can't blame you,we're talking about the Beatles here. :)) There ain't gonna be anything even close to them these days with any of the artists out there. Good thing your mom didn't see that. lol ;) Those were the coolest times right? I have so many memories myself of the Beatles in the 60's & I was a kid. You keep that sound & feel of the Beatles going today my buddy! Oh yeah strawberry poptarts,I gotta get some now. ;)
Great upload, Reg, very Beatlish, there are all the little fills and sounds...just beautiful. Why not uploading more....I´ll think I´ll also do that again;-)))
@LillyC68 LIlly that's all I lived and breathed was music. Most of my earlier songs aren't much but I was happy to be able just to write them. Thank you as always, I'll have one more song up soon. One which I consider very good If I do say so myself. "Tired of Running". thank you dear Lilly, Reg
