I have a lightly modded 6s and love it but sometimes I regret not buying a speed6, but my next car is definitely gonna be turbocharged and AWD.

Also, and this may not be related, but the v-6 is manufactured by Ford (I think), but the I-4 is true blue Mazda.

eddie if i see u down the street im gonna run u over...with my mazda...i wont hesitate.. consider this if i have money i wouldnt buy that mercedes...i'd buy a lambor or a ferrari or viper.... if u are willing to spend that much then y not buy the best car available... if u dont i'd suggest buy a mazda better than any average car....and reliable and nice handling..

Just to set things straight, I own (2) AMG cars. I've driven almost all of them, and I'd have say I think the AMG would still win. Randy is correct about the weight of cards, but the AMG's have soo much torque and pickup I don't think the mazada would have much of a change coming out a turns. Not to mention the straights. Unless it was a very curvey track the mazda would still lose.

haha, ya the black series is amazing! its basically a street legal dtm race car :D thats one nasty ride, id definately put my money on that clk if it raced the mazda6 race car, but it would be a pretty neat race :) weight would be a huge factor tho so i guess it would get pretty interesting

Problem is race cars are specialty cars unlike street cars. A road racing car is not built to drag race in a straight line, rather it's built to go for long periods of time sustaining high lateral G-forces repeatedly. If the race were on the actual racetrack (that was shot at Buttownwillow Raceway) rather than the pit lane, the Mazda would destroy the MBZ. Make it a 20 min race on the track and the Mazda would lap the MBZ. Basically, you can't throw a cat into the water and expect it to swim.

E63? well if u bring into account the fact that the mercedes has twice... almost 3times the engine as the mazda (AMG tuned V12 i believe, vs Mazdaspeed NA 2.3L inline-4) you'll appreciate how well the 6 did... MAZDA6 FTW!!! :P

ARE YOU NUTS the E63 is a 6.2 litre V8 512-507 hp and 465-480 lbs of torque. Only benz's with the 65 # are 6.5 V12 twin-turbo 640 hp and now over 736 lbs of torque. So get the true facts guy. Unless you get 400 or more hp from a 6 and a 6 or 7 speed trany you aint gotta chance. All the new benz's have a 7 spd elec manual. Mazda6 cant run in this ring.

but still, the mazda has half the engine... and realrideracing has a point to, the mazda6 touring car is meant for road racing not drag, i actually saw the 6 in a touring race a few months back and from a standing stop the acceleration isnt super impressive, but the handling is impressive :D

Handling wise, yes you are correct sir. But it would be a great race between the mazda touring 6 and the amg black series clk. The black series got enough oversteer to rival the best porsche handling. Its just the Black Series needs a separate radiator just for the rear axle.

well, thanks for callin me a retard bro but id appreciate it if you read the other comments before, i know that a 63 is a v8 and i know the black series kicks azz, i just think it would be an interesting matchup on a twisty track seein that the mazda6 race car only has around 256hp (according to tri-point website) compared to the clk's 500, but the 6 is only 2650lbs with a driver compared to the clk's 3880 w/o a driver, thats more than 1200lbs to play with... im just saying itd be fun...

The displacement is 6.2 L vs. 5.4 L in the E55, but it's normally aspitated, hence the less torque!

@Michaelingolfhansen I know, it was so long ago i posted that comment. I also do know the reason the E55 has more torque is because it has forced induction (supercharger) while the newer E63 is naturally aspirated. I'm sorry!

@bkorven Yeah, turbo/superchargers increases torque dramatically, while also making the engines deliver the max torque from very low revs, and then the curve is often flat right up to the high revs!

So you dont just get more torque, its also delivered much better!

If would prefer the supercharged 5.4L over the normally aspirated 6.2L.
