Look, the Animus is a machine that shows the genetic memory of one ancestors, and it is a actual theory that you have memories from previous generations from your blood line. The Bleeding Effect is when Desmond sees Ezio in action and is able to recall his talents and skills and use them in the real world, but he is accessing Ezio's memories that are already inside him. The "soul" is not in anyway related, and no one is being transformed

your all wrong. Desmonds soul goes into Ezio(his ancestor) because the Animus put him there. Desmond gained some of Ezio's assasin abilities through something called the Bleeding Effect. They wanted to train Desmond to be an assasin, so they put his spirit in Ezio so he could bring back information and skills into the real time, instead of doing years of training. Thats what i remember.

No, AC2 takes place 300 years after AC1 so Altair died. Its a Yes, because it's still Desmond Miles's mind in Ezio. AC2 is about the life of Ezio, the young nobleman who is betrayed by his friends and must become an Assassin like his father (not altair) to survive. So basically the whole game is about Ezio training to become a better assassin.
