  • Best game in the series. Bar none.

  • Best space opera ever, for sure !!

  • I have always wondered: Who are these members of the senate voting "YES" for the war?! I understand that Blair is only speaking, not showing photos or hard proof, but why would any senate member vote yes? What is up with that? Are these members with Tolwyn?

  • @Tigerman1138

    Played the game? :)

  • @Kagonic Oh yes! I played the game! I loved it. It's my favorite of the Wing Commander series. I am just posing the question. WHO would vote yes after hearing of GenSelect BIO weapons, BLACK LANCE, and what else Tolwyn's been up to out there?

  • @Tigerman1138

You do know Blair couldn't present concrete evidence at that time.

Tolwyn was proposing to go to war with the border worlds to "protect themselves" but Blair tricked him into admitting that he is just trying to provoke a war to allow military technology to flourish.

In short, Tolwyn started acting like the Kilrathi, that exposed him in front of the masses.

However, more tempered senate members could still be on the side of war. That's how politics work. There is no 100% vote.

  • FANTASTIC ENDING!

  • would have been a better ending if it showed tolwyn getting butt fucked

  • @mokook He should be, by Blair. Lord knows he deserves that more so than death. I can see it now, One thrust saying this is for the Tiger's Claw, another and he'd say this is for K'tithrak Mang, this is for the Stealth Fighter incident, This is for Angel, this is for Me. It would be fitting, all the times Tolwyn fucked him, why not some literal payback?

  • @mokook But then again, I don't think Blair would lower himself to do that to Tolwyn, though he does deserve it.

  • Best line ever:

    Paladin: "Maniac..."

    Maniac: "Yes sir?"

    Paladin: "Shut. Up."

  • Good riddance to you Admiral Tolwyn, and every person like you with your attitude in real life as well.

  • @louisevale2 His motives were good, preparing Humanity for the coming storm that was on the horizon, but his methods of doing it were wrong.

  • I love that ending truly EPIC

  • Either you're an earthworm or an eagle. The story ends with the same line that was told in the beginning. Excellent ending, one of the best ever.

  • what character says "And I couldn't go on!" ? is that a pilot? thanks for posting these.

  • @csdude35 He's wearing a Black Lance uniform. Not sure if he's a pilot or soldier that witnessed all the atrocities that Tolwyn and his forces committed and decided to speak out.

Either way, it was still a chance for Chris Roberts to get a cameo appearance.

  • @csdude35 a black lance member, played by the designer of the WC games, chris roberts himself

  • Just finishing watching WC4 Winning Path.. Thanks for the vids!

  • I like how Maniac was saying "Hey Pal..." and corrected himself midstream and referred to Paladin as Senator since he's always remembered him as Paladin from WC1.

  • Captain Eisen is the best

  • The final battle, fought with words, and not weapons. How brilliant. I love how as Blair has won the debate he is in shock, awe. Assembly members come up shaking his hand, hugging him, shaking his shoulders, and he is just just in awe and then finally realizes what's happening.

  • To me this was the most involving series of games I ever had the honour of playing. Truly great

  • lol @ 1:17 christ roberts himself in a black lance unifrom??? XD the guy who is the maker of the wing commander series

  • He just couldn't go on. :D

  • @Kagonic I think the Black Lance (Who is actually Chris Roberts, creator of the game and series, in a cameo) says, "And I COULD GO ON!" Meaning that his testimony, while likely graphic and intense, had more to come, if only asked.

  • @Tigerman1138

Tbh it can be both, it's very hard to distinguish, it is correct either way.

...and I couldn't go on: He couldn't put up with the acts of terrorism the Black Lance squadron committed anymore.

...and I could go on: He could further detail the monstrosity of Tolwyn.

    Magnificent freedom of interpretation.

However, I strongly believe he says "couldn't." the "not" can be clearly heard at 1:16. Repeat it a few times and you will hear it too.

    Corrected the time.

  • Wow.. Sosa is pissed off :-)

  • @Madsy9 At first I would have said her response would be more appropriate if Catscratch gets killed, but if you hear her reaction to the Telamon tragedy, it would fit for both scenarios involving Catscratch, whether he survives or dies.

  • In memory of Admiral Geoffrey Tolwyn. His cause of death was suicide by hanging in order to avoid execution.

    Evil Admiral G Tolwyn RIP

  • Best ending ever.

  • Wing Commander is a great series i love them all!!!

  • Thanks, Dave, for your Wing Commander videos. Dind't realise the game was so good (especially storywise) back when I played it, although really enjoyed it even then.

  • Oh... My... God... This game... The first (and the last !) game who have cried me... Catscratch death, Vagabond death, and this end... OMG.

  • All i could think of was "Maniac" crashing his ship into a manure transport.

    He hates manure, apparently.

  • @Protagonist I HATE MANURE! How horrible or wonderful would that be? In a clip, hidden, he is seen flying into a BORDER WORLDS manure transport. That would rule!

  • Thanks.

  • WOOOT

  • This has to be, quite simply, the greatest game ending of all time. Mass Effect is my most recent favorite, but this was the first game to strike me emotionally.

If only they would bring the series back...

  • JUSTICE!!!!!

  • There are three big times when they are at odds (Hawk and Panther). If you take 2/3 (or 3/3) of the "harsh" choice you get ADMIRAL ending. 1/3 will still get "the nice ending"

  • I loved this game! It was such an epic masterpiece. Science (gen-select & nanotech), combat, action, heart, humor, great feelings, and you really could get into it.

The first time I played...to my unknowing (as it was my first time playing through to the ending...and to my roommate's HUGE SHOCK (it was his game and he was expecting the "nice" ending with the flight instruction... I got the alternate ending....

You see,I agreed with Hawk. I FLASHPACKED the STARBASE. Admiral Blair!

  • This was one of the most involving and captivating games I ever played through. Thanks for posting up your videos... this was a great stroll down memory lane.

  • " This tribunal finds you guilty of crimes against humanity! " What a well-deserved phrase for the Admiral. Although he's a hell of a speaker.. Have to give him that..

  • Yet Admiral Tolwyn proves to be right in a way for his thinking, for in the next Wing Commander game, a much stronger enemy DOES come. But then, I am just saying that because I love Malcolm McDowell so much.

  • And the irony is that confed forces get absolutely obliterated at first. If Tolwyn proceeded, they might stand a better chance to survive, and maybe Blair would be spared in the end. Great commentary by the way.

  • yanava, Tolwyn tried to "prepare" confed by murdering billions of people (in fact he obliterated an entire planet using bioweapons).

Murder is never justified, he can rot in hell as far as the Wing Commander universe is concerned.

  • Maniac? Shut up.
