Dorako looked a weird insect, sorta but not really, a mix of Megalon and Kamacuras in this vid. lol He usually looks like a dinosaur with claws like Gigan and insect wings. He looks alot creepier than usual.

I think that whoever made these monsters had never worked in this industry before, and had no fucking clue what they were doing. I'm thinking like... maybe they saw the original series, were upset with the blandness and minimalism in the original costumes, and went out of their way to sculpt these beautiful pieces you see here, probably more as statues than wearable suits. Combine that with stuntmen who have never played monsters before, and you get this train wreck.

That's my theory, anwyas.

Man, this series has so much going for it - The suits, the sets, the music - and yet still manages to squander it all by not giving us actual FIGHTS... I get that the suits are kind of stiff, but come on!

Ah well... this mantis/monk take on Dorako is... charmingly bizarre.

@Biochemitra They probably didn't want the monsters fight (that hard) because maybe they wanted to keep the suits in nice condition, but if that's true I don't see the point of making the costumes if we're not gonna see the monsters really fight fight and not just lazily walking into one another.

Wow that was bad. I don't blame the suit actors entirely. It ultimately comes down to the director. This show underachieved a great deal. A lot of the suits look great. I see so much potential. Bad direction killed it. It goes to show all of you spoiled youngsters out there that visuals aren't the only thing that matter.
