  • This is badass but it looks like 10 people are holding on to oldschool with vice grips.

  • How much are these in American dollars? I want one so bad to put in samples and other wobbles!!! :D please message anyone!!!

  • Damn... This is amazing dude!

  • Can anyone use one of these with the instructions or do you need like classes for this?

  • @300ZXCRAZE

With experimentation, and online tutorials, it's pretty easy to learn. I've got a few of these myself, I've had them only for a few weeks and already I'm learning how to control a ton of stuff. You don't need classes when you've got the internet as a resource~

  • @BwarchtheGamer Good point, thanks.

  • That's roughly £780 worth of MIDI controller...

  • Can someone please tell me if you are connecting this all to one computer through a hub or to multiple laptops.

  • @MusicSoundstruck One laptop with an 8 port hub :-)

  • I'm gonna hate myself for doing this, but I need to :P

I am a progressive house / electro house producer. Now I know that you're thinking "ahh fuck not one of these again" but just think of it as discovering new music.

obviously you dont have to check me out, but it would be great if you took 10 minutes out of your day to check me out.

whoever actually goes to my videos, I thank you with all my heart :)

my latest track is a progressive remix of Alors On Dance :)

    thanks!

    -Nughaga

  • damn as producer, me likey veerrryyy muchh, favorited

  • Great great stuff! Lots of respect for the work you put into this!

  • Epic!! Wow what a touch of a button does

  • Can you control your drum rack with it?

  • @FRB1420 Yes but they are not velocity sensitive.

  • O_O. Thats all i can say

  • 9 people are jealous hahaha

  • DUDE, YOU ARE F*CKIN AWESOME xD

How do you know the effects on your novations? This is so incredible man...

    my big respect bro xD

  • this is awesome dude

  • I had Gold Dust playing in the background and they synced amazingly for some weird reason

  • this is awesome!

  • my loops play over and over until i hit the stop button, how exactly within ableton do i get the loop to play just once?

  • @theezrabeast turn off the loop in the sample/clip view.

  • Wonderful job~

  • Thumbs for the hand under the black squares 3:44 :)

  • This is going to sound really newbish, but throughout your performance, you have the launchpad rolling down a column and playing each sample on a beat, 1/2 beat, 1/4 beat, etc.

I know this is a really basic feature of the Launchpad and Ableton, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that. Are you just putting those commands in the sequencer ahead of time? Or is there a way to make it so Ableton plays those samples in the column when prompted to do so?

  • @MVanKleeck23 It's a bit fiddly this. There are two things to read up on. 1) follow on actions for clips 2) Legato mode for clips. Choose a simple 1 bar loop to start with and keep it simple. Then just play with follow on actions and Legato mode. It'll make sense at some point! Sorry I can give more info with writing an essay.... GOOD LUCK!

  • @thesecondwhorl I would've loved an essay XD

  • Holly crap.. that was awesome

  • like playing memory.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=MTqWLn3l1uQ&feature=related

  • one question...how do you connect the launchpads?i mean the usb port is on the side, how can u put the pads that clos together?

  • @endeffekttube The USB cable that comes with Launchpads is right angled, so they can be put really close together.

  • did you really need 6 launchpads to do that?

  • @ImaTechGeek If it's 100% live... yes.

  • @thesecondwhorl hey I was just wondering how did had led feedback in user 2??

  • @thesecondwhorl mmm i think not, that could have been done with 3 or even 2, slightly harder for the mixer, but very possible

  • @ImaTechGeek well you could take out the top 2 with a controller w/ faders like the zero mk II, but because of how elaborate his clip arrangement is, I'd say everything is defly necessary for a live performance. Really amazing stuff here, I'd love to see a live show of this sometime, do you play at festivals any? EDC?

  • Wow that freaking awesome!!!

  • Utterly superb ... I have given myself a year to learn this wonderful piece of kit and software

  • I could follow the performance somewhat, but I just have one question...

What are the 2 Pads on the right and left sides for. From what I can see, they are set to user 2 which means it would be a stand alone instrument...? And if they are both set to user 2, would that mean that they are both controlling the same instrument? I just got a Launchpad yesterday and am still learning so I could be wrong.

  • @MVanKleeck23 theres a video on the novation youtube channel that shows how this all works. I think it's called 'Using 6 launchpads explained' // M

  • How did you setup the 6 launchpads to connect to the computer?

  • i wonder what will happen if we stick madeon on these?

  • jesus christ it looks like you're sending off apollo 17 into orbit

    hahahaha so fucking awesome...

  • can you post a screenshot of the mapping!? i don't want/have a use for it because I don't have a launchpad. I'm just curious to see how complicated it's gotta be haha

  • total rip off, if you buy it you need to purchase an ableton live set for 300 dollars or else its just useless

  • @Trust93 it's a fucking midi controller what the fuck did you expect it to do? and I swear it comes with ableton live lite anyway

  • @Trust93 duh

  • @Trust93 you can use it with nearly any other program that has a midi function. derp.

  • @Trust93 Its a USB Controller, not a Ableton Controller

  • Awesome!

  • Is it just me? or would a pack of E's be good while playing with one of these....

  • like a BOSS. good shit.

  • Sick!!!!!! Damn. That was awesome. Is this track on your sound cloud

  • 0:00 Repeatbutton

  • Best Launchpad session ever!! Thumbs up dude

  • amazing!

  • i wonder who will upload a vid with 7 launchpads

  • @codyblackv2 6 is the max you can use haha :P

  • Too many launchpads lol

  • are you the novation guy?! i mean that one in the promo videos

    however...good stuff!!!

  • @nonusoildentifricio Yup! ;-)

  • cool

  • musical evolution.

  • How do you get User 2 to do that? I'm having trouble with mine

  • the best live i've ever seen. congrats

  • it reminds me when in the 70's rock bands went crazy with 3 kick drums, a big (never touched gong) etc . now it appens in elettronic music

  • nice tetris :D

  • Madeon ? Is it you ?

  • So...Many...Pads... Me Gusta .__.

  • 384 Buttons

    o_o

  • its a lil bit boring... :/

  • COOL.

    Great work man : )

  • lol 3:45 with his hand clipped by the black box edit

  • Im pretty sure , i saw three hands over there...

  • Six guys have been stolen their Launchpads then dislikes the video.

  • Hermoso y desconocido

  • it isnt creativity when you give candy to a baby

  • :o oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh wow.

  • ha, Madeon makes this guy look like a bizniiiiich. But still he plays much better than I can seeing as I have a whopping zero launchpads... and Deadmau5 lookout? Joel could blow this mans whole set here away with 10 seconds of any one of his songs.

  • @EverythingMeansAll You realize you're comparing wildly different styles of music and live performance right? Kinda makes you look like an idiot.

  • @EverythingMeansAll Deadmau5, Madeon AND Skrillex would love this guy if they saw him. This guy is a true artist.

  • @Kimarius2die4 Madeon just sucks live shows not the others.

  • amaaaazzzzzinnngggg

  • @LogicBoards yup!

  • how about learning how to play real music

  • @BDukich What kind of music would that be?

  • @BDukich umaducantdothis?

  • Its like having a hands on FL studio :D

  • @DJHeroMist LP's Look better :L

  • master! love it!

  • I am going to send links to all my friends, that was fantastic!

  • Im pretty sure the middle 2 are the clip launches, the top 2 are the volume faders for those channels and either side are fx? Am i right?

  • Can you use the launchpad to work with FL or Reason?

  • @JorgeGonzalas yes you can, there are a bunch of videos on youtube that use them. Madeon uses FL and ableton

  • surely he's got at least one to spare for me?

  • @Thimble007 Passion.

  • Launchpad can be used without a computer that comes with music, however.

  • Anyone knows how to do that with his right (full red) launchpad? If yes, please answer :)

  • how can you put 6 launchpads side by side, when the usb device is on the right side of the launchpad?

    can you explain me?

    Thanks

  • @TheSeriusly WallHack

  • @skillExtasy HAHAHA. Other solution?

  • @TheSeriusly Look: They aren't side by side, there's a liittle gap between...

  • So fucking awesome

  • the reson he has six is so it's easier to control and so he can get more out of them...

:D thumbs up so people know why!

  • This 6 launchpads it's a kind of effect . You dont need 6 of these to create music. Nobody can control all of them . IT'S EXAGGERATION !!

  • @filipakos2 1 is plenty :)

  • @filipakos2 well yeah, as you can see everypart of them is being used, you don't need to use 6, but you can, ever seen the amount of knobs and buttons on a pro recording studio, theres alot more stuff than that...

  • were the two on top use as a volume controller? nice beats!

  • Look at all the pretty colours :D

  • I don't know wtf he's doing, but man does it look and sound cool!

  • crazy man!!!! great job!! >:)~

  • I would get so lost...

  • 6 launchpads.... thats $900 o.O

  • @TheBlueAnchovy $123 each on B&H right meow ;)

  • i bet this dude is awesome at tetris

  • ok so he can press buttons, i want to know what he did inside live to create all of these sounds and loops beforehand

  • you crassy man :D i love that you can be so organized while controlling 6 launchpads

  • что за унылый тетрис, блиаааать?

  • I dont even understand this O.O

  • @electromatique he linked audio files to different pads

  • this is stupid why wouldnt you just use 2 and a mixer...

  • @harrysoiland check the 'Using 6 Launchpads - Explained' video to see why & how this works.

  • Meh... kids today only know how to press some buttons. Back in the day we used to play instruments

Kidding!! That was awesome... just imagine the amount of programming, practice and memorizing time this must have taken! Damn!

  • he only needed 1 to do all that, and 3 if he didn't want to change modes ever

  • seems to me like he's using the middle two an insane amount and barely using the others

  • im about to get one of these in the mail

  • Those launchpads are like something out of a movie set in 2040

  • why doesn't this have more views?

  • dude.. this should be a 16.5 million view video, not 16,500... but I dont mind being the 16,500 view :P

  • amazing

  • watch?v=U425croRnu4 This video is using similar techniques for performance and my channel has ableton live templates for djing/electronic live performance

  • GAWD is that epic, i would be totaly in a other world when i would mix with that. :D

  • i dont get how it works lol so u just press a button and the sound plays?how do u know what sound itll make for each button?u memmorize it?

  • @50nollieman he sets it up which sound goes to which button using albeton live. so he knows which sound is which when he uses is.

  • @50nollieman well, you choose what the buttons do in the first place, and you just have to remember

  • @50nollieman you have to make sounds in ableton live, it's a producer programm which simply is used from names like deadmau5, daftpunk, justice, skrillex etc. the lounchpads are only a good looking keyboard for the program. with help of the pads you don't need to look on the pc anymore, technology.

  • Following you on soundcloud :)

  • ME.

    GUSTA.

  • @APohandude me gusta more than you ;)

  • its impossible to dislike this

  • this is brilliant

  • 2:12 TETRIS xDDD

  • where do all the sounds come from?

  • omg check out at 2:10, we can even play tetris on that!

  • And the USB? Where are?

  • How come he got so much creativity and I got non ?

  • @Thimble007 +1

  • @Thimble007 cause all you do is watch youtube maybe? ( not assumin, i dont even know you)

  • @Thimble007 Because he can spell the word "none" and you cannot.

  • @Thimble007 this nigga stole it :D

  • @Thimble007

    PRACTICE.

  • @antoineph Yep Practise is ALL !

  • @Thimble007 its not necessarily creativity, its experimentation ;)

  • @Thimble007 Because he has it all

  • @Thimble007 you dont have six launchpads?

  • @Thimble007 Because he has the experience and equipment man. When you use one, you can imagine what you can do with 2. Then when you use 2 you expand even more.

Just experience a launch pad and you will feel it flow through you. And if not, practice : D

  • @Thimble007 U gotta smoke more herb!

  • @Thimble007 It's just ten percent luck

    Twenty percent skill

Fifteen percent concentrated power of will

    Five percent pleasure

    Fifty percent pain

And a hundred percent reason to remember the name

  • I would kill for your skill dude.

  • Like the ipad was to the lemur, launchpad + nonome is to the monome. Bravo on the tunes, man, and great proof of concept.

  • reminds me alittle of a pretty lights album

  • Deadmau5 look out.

  • @schrock1 joel is a gear head, his live equipment is more difficuilt xd

  • two volume controls, two fx controllers, two beat controllers... nice! I just had this setup's baby... ^^
