The Czarist Army in WW1 was a huge mob of poorly educated and equipped peseants who where led by horrible commanders (except Brusilov). The Red Army was much better equipped in 1941 and only because of the Purges and Stalins refusal to admit that Germany was the threat made them loose horribly during 1941 and early 1942. By late 1942 the Red Army was the strongest and best equipped Army in the world and could have crushed the 'invincible' Wehrmacht on it´s own.

Soviet troops were so wonderfully equipped that my grandfather who was wounded twice, once in Stalingrad, said they would have lost the war if it wasn't for American equipment (lend-lease program).

@Rhonion Bro common, fire arms and bombs were scientific discovery's. The best example I can give would be that movie with Tom cruise when he was the last samurai, and they were fighting against the Japanese army with rifles, and cannons. Then all of the samurai were basically all killed off

@SackFulloApplez1993 completely wrong. Communism is not a fascist rule, and "no way of trying to better yourself" is wrong too. Again, the USSR was Leninism/Stalinism. "trying to better yourself" is capitalism, in communism there is no "better" for one individual. "Communism deprives no man of the power to appropriate the products of society, all that is does is to deprive him of the power to subjugate the labor of others by means of such appropriation."

@ma82fo What makes you think Russia wouldn't have abolished it? They most likely would have but the Bolsheviks had to be the radical idiots they were and come in and kill the Czar and everyone who they deemed was a monarchist. All in all Russia would have been a lot better if the Czar had still been in place during the bloody reign of the USSR. I'm not saying that I still want a Czar nowadays because that wouldn't work at all but it would have been nice if we still had the royal family today.
