@ramblingevilmushroom The KRISS Super V in this video is semi-auto, not full-auto. It also is not a pistol, it is a short barrel rifle (SBR). If it did not have a stock, it would be classified as a pistol. An SBR is controlled just like a suppressor or machine guns thru the BATF and local law enforcement. Each state decides what class III devices are allowed by civilians, in AZ suppressors, machine guns (pre-1986), SBR's and AOW (all other weapons - usually weird stuff) are allowed.
@dudens97 What do you mean by "stock suppressors"? Do you build your own? If you build your own and don't have a class III manufacturing permit don't answer my question. If you are a legal suppressor builder, that sounds like a blast (ok, I did not plan that as a pun, just lucky). If suppressor manufacturing did not require all the ATF hoop jumping, I wonder how fast new and innovative suppressors would come to market.
@Nick718BkLyN It's probably for the full auto aspect. Getting a pre-86 Class III MP5 or assault rifle (m16, etc) could cost upwards of $15,000. A NFA registered MAC might cost under $5,000. An SBR might be a different story, but again it would be semi auto.
I get the suppressor, but why would you put all that extra junk on a Mac 11? I thought the whole point of the gun it it being a COMPACT sub machinegun. What you have right there is an AR-15 in 9mm...
@clavo420 Except a full auto-AR in 9mm is $10K more than the mac. And it is as close to "Hollywood quiet" as I have heard any full auto suppressed machinegun.
@aceshigh7 Gentle, aceshigh7, gentle. Everyone has to start learning somewhere. You should explan the difference between measuring bullets in millimeters vs caliber. * I'm sure they meant ".380" and not ".308".
@xPOSSUM45x I wish. But you're right, not the best "intro" gun. But hard to not wish after shooting it. Too expensive to shoot unless you reload. As soon as that lottery prize check arrives, I'm buying about 100,000 rounds of ammo to match whatever full-auto's I decide ot add to the collection. Note to self - buy lottery tickets today.
@TheJrbfilms Its a 9mm MAC with a Bowers suppressor. It was jokingly referred to as the Frankengun since it had so many accessories added or modified parts. I've shot the one in the video.
@NebunLaCap Depends upon what state you live in. In Arizona, it is legal for private citizens to purchase a suppressor (after jumping through the proper BATF forms, background check and $200 tax stamp). In other states it is not legal. Need to check you state laws on the topic.
I have shot the one in the video myself. It has lots of stuff added but the core is still M11. I understand why so many people think it is an MP9 or a TMP, it really can look like one given the distance the video was shot from.
You should be proud of your son, or whatever - thats some pretty good and respectful shooting that he's demonstrating. He's pretty good with it for his first time, as well!
@KrazyRMjumps About $4k depending on options, plus the $200 BATF tax stamp. Another $200 BATF tax stamp for the suppressor. If either is purchased from an out-of-state dealer, then it will cost between $50-$100 per device to have your dealer handle the transfer paperwork.
@KrazyRMjumps Not sure what your asking. If you interested in shooting a suppressed or full-auto machine gun, there are places you can rent them in AZ (I assume the same thing is true in NV).
@MrTANNERRAY Wes of Phoenix, out in the Miller road area. But we are moving farther west because of MCSO's and Buckeye police crack down on shooting in BLM islands. Neither can provide a logical justification why you can't shoot on the BLM island with very clear and safe shooting geography. Some shooters have done the majority of safe shooters a disservice by being asses over the years. Add Buckeye police as jackasses to that mix and now everyone needs to find a new place to shoot.
@azweapon Well I can provide logical justifications... it ruins it for those of us who are there to hike in peace without the noise of gunfire or the fear of getting shot, and also the bullets are largely made out of lead. It is toxic, kills wildlife, and is not recovered by anyone. The bullets just pile up. At a shooting range the bullets are contained and can be removed and recycled. And no one is relying on safe geography (arbitrary judgement of shooters, some of whom are jackasses).
@r0ck3tsm0k3 I am an avid hiker and monitor archeological sites in Arizona. The only places I have shot in Arizona over the last 24 years have been at well known sites that have been shooting sites for decades before I came. No one I know has ever started a "new" site in the desert. That said, the locations we shoot at are typically far from interesting wrt hiking. ATV's appear to be the sole competition for the areas we shoot, and they typically don't make new trails.
@azweapon I agree lead is toxic, which is why we shoot at well known sites where the damage was done decades ago. Peace? This is just west of Luke AFB, flights are regular and when the wind is blowing from the south, you can hear the highway several miles away. As for killing wildlife; the wildlife does not eat lead. It is not like hunting where an unrecovered game animal is eaten by another animal, such as with the concern with Condors along the Utah border.
@azweapon r0ck3tsm0k3, it does not sound like you have ever been target shooting. Firearms are dangerous. But proper care and preparation mitigates the danger. Everyone new gets a safety review. If you don't know what constitutes a safe background, you better not be pulling the trigger. And we clean up more casings than we produce, just etiquette to correct behavior from generations who did not know any better. Lead is NOT collected at outdoor AZGFD shooting ranges and recycled.
@azweapon r0ck3tsm0k3, there are some shooters in the desert that are jackasses. If ANYONE with a firearm appears to act recklessly or threateningly, CALL THE SHERIFF. These are people that have no business sharing multi-use land. People getting shot by stray bullets is what happens in the city, but are ridiculously rare in the desert (typically these incidents are hunting related, not target shooting). The safest thing you can do is NOT drive your car to the trailhead - DRIVING is dangerous.
@TheMaxwell777 Sorry. That was supposed to read muzzle flash. Suppressors can reduce recoil by as much as 15% because they divert some of the projectile gasses.
@gangstapanda102 Sometimes it is better to be safe than sorry, one of our "crew" was wearing a red shirt. Nothing says "your gonna die" like a red shirted Star Trek crew memeber.
@TheMaxwell777 Never shot it without the suppressor. But I am guessing the recoil would be more noticeable just because the suppressors weight helped counter the muzzle rise.
@azweapon I would agree, the suppressor probably helps the muzzle rise, but shouldn't do anything for the recoil. Usually suppressors that are built for guns that use a blowback system (this one included) have a device that increases the recoil, otherwise the suppressor's weight on the barrel would prohibit proper cycling. So recoil should be the same, if it is less you might have issues.
@OrientOranges Individual states can determine what can be owned by civilians. In Arizona you can own full-auto, suppressors (silencers), short barrel rifles, and stranger things that fall into the category of "all other weapons" (AOW). You still must go through the BATF to jump through federal law hoops, but you only need to get the local chief law officer (the county sheriff in Arizona) to approve it locally. If you buy as a Class III as a corporation, you can skip the local law signature.
@OrientOranges In California, a civilian cannot own machine guns or suppressors. Only local law forbids private ownership, not federal. Although full-auto machine made after 1986 are not allowed by fed law to be owned by civilians. And a big reason why existing full-auto weapons continue to increase in value.
@OrientOranges It is possible to own fully auto and short barrel rifles if you are willing to go through the process, not like going into your local shop and getting a semi.
The owner of the gun is very experienced with full auto and provided very good instruction specific to a full-auto. But the most important part was applying the same safety rules as with any firearm. A good instructor will determine if a student listens well and applies what is being said before allowing them to put hands-on a full auto firearm. If you would not allow a person to shoot a full-auto firearm with instruction, you probably were not going to let them shoot any weapon..
I think it was more an awareness of the situation. A while back while upgrades were being done on this gun, there were a few runaways. Two people swore that with one quick trigger pull about 5-10 shots came out. Their story was under suspicion until one of the groups father took a turn and dumped a whole 30 rnd magazine - most of it was without a finger on the trigger. The instructor is very experienced and well trained, so preparing to run like hell might be considered nervous as shit. :-)
Sounds really gay, the silenced MAC-10 that Butch shoots Vincent with in Pulp Fiction sounds so awesome, is there a silenced gun actually sounds like that one in real life?
Most of the sound you heard in the video was not the report of the bullet, is was mostly the mechanical parts slamming into each other as the weapon cycles. I believe we were shooting subsonic since it was easy to hear the bullets impacting on the dirt backstop. If you could cycle (full-auto) a MAC-10 without bullets you would be surprised how loud the cycling sounds.
We were shooting in the desert west of Phoenix. Too bad some people over the decades frequently used the desert as a dumping ground. Cleaning up the brass after shooting I find kind of relaxing. It's a treasure hunt if you are a reloader.
Ummm.... You will not catch a full bullet ricochet from shooting a tire at that distance... But if your round hits the ground then hits the tire then there is a chance the bullet will fragment and ricochet off the tire... Obviously the older the tire the more the elasticity will be worn down....
Uhmm.. Why in the hell, are you guys shooting towards tires? High Density Rubber is the last thing you want to shoot at, especially from this range. Ricochet!
last time i checked bullets have enough power to go through rubber, ricochet with a bb gun maybe, but if a bullet can dent a metal plate or go through i doubt you need to worry about rubber bouncing it back
I have shot the one in the video myself. It has lots of stuff added but the core is still M11. I understand why so many people think it is an MP9 or a TMP, it really can look like one given the distance the video was shot from.
Firearms can be a blast, but one mistake can haunt you forever. If you think of safety all the time, it's not an obstacle, it just becomes 2nd nature. I take the 'safety freaks' comment as a compliment and hope you keep safe out there shooting as well. * And hope you can find cheap ammo.
That is a M11 (not a Mac 11) with a Lage upper on it. Its 9mm.
Going price for a registered, transferable, LEGAL, M11 is about $3000, Lage upper is $800, Stock is $100. So for less than $4K, you have yourself a nice shooting machine gun.
I'll check with the owner again to find out exactly what the make is; an authentic Military Armament Corporation M11 (or the common abbreviation MAC-11) or a copy-cat. Case sensitivity is important - Apple does not make submachineguns.
actually timmy, u can get a supressor and/or a fully automatic weapon with a federal background check and a $200 tax stamp for every class III purchase/weapon (unless you live in sh*ty california or NY)...you're more than welcome to check any Arizona state gun site and find this out for yourself.

We were shooting in the desert west of Phoenix. Too bad some people over the decades frequently used the desert as a dumping ground. Cleaning up the brass after shooting I find kind of relaxing. It's a treasure hunt if you are a reloader.

There is no way in thats a mp9.... I can tell that is a Cobray Arms CM 11 9mm Luger...

Ummm.... You will not catch a full bullet ricochet from shooting a tire at that distance... But if your round hits the ground then hits the tire then there is a chance the bullet will fragment and ricochet off the tire... Obviously the older the tire the more the elasticity will be worn down....

where can i get a mac 11 like this one
cartoonboi 2 years ago
i saw a mac 11 at the Gun Store, in Las Vegas, just this evening....$4000....
I love Nevada =) Perfectly legal to own a machine gun.

Uhmm.. Why in the hell, are you guys shooting towards tires? High Density Rubber is the last thing you want to shoot at, especially from this range. Ricochet!
sasquatchops 2 years ago
Very good point.
azweapon 2 years ago
thats why they have "TIRE HOUSES" for cqb training huh because the tires ricochet.
motopilot0919 2 years ago
Ok, I'm confused. So old degraded tires are good backstops and new tires are bad? Or are they always bad... or always good backstops?
azweapon 2 years ago
last time i checked bullets have enough power to go through rubber, ricochet with a bb gun maybe, but if a bullet can dent a metal plate or go through i doubt you need to worry about rubber bouncing it back

It's an m11 (mistakenly referred to as a mac-11) with a Lage max-11 upper receiver.

I have shot the one in the video myself. It has lots of stuff added but the core is still M11. I understand why so many people think it is an MP9 or a TMP, it really can look like one given the distance the video was shot from.
azweapon 2 years ago
It's in Arizona west of Phoenix, a few miles north of I-10.

Obviously you don't know how important safety is, '6521079'.

Firearms can be a blast, but one mistake can haunt you forever. If you think of safety all the time, it's not an obstacle, it just becomes 2nd nature. I take the 'safety freaks' comment as a compliment and hope you keep safe out there shooting as well. * And hope you can find cheap ammo.
azweapon 2 years ago
Very true. I'm a HUGE fun safety freak myself, and it helps. Ammo sucks down here in california. Especially in the biggest gun-law state.

Much better than the stock M11 bullet hose.

I'll check with the owner again to find out exactly what the make is; an authentic Military Armament Corporation M11 (or the common abbreviation MAC-11) or a copy-cat. Case sensitivity is important - Apple does not make submachineguns.

if you didnt know tmp is pretty similar but tmp is .45 i believe
TheKingOfPowderGame 2 years ago
That is a mac 11.
it just looks like it was an UMP or an other because of the scope and silencer and shit.
Graffitifreak01 2 years ago
mac 10 comes in 9 and 45 and m11 is 9mm. and it does have recoil all guns do
Lonnie8799 3 years ago
MAC-11 is .380ACP, otherwise known as 9 mm Short, 9 mm Browning, 9 mm Kurz, 9 mm Corto or 9x17mm.
Looks like a poor mans tmp.

actually timmy, u can get a supressor and/or a fully automatic weapon with a federal background check and a $200 tax stamp for every class III purchase/weapon (unless you live in sh*ty california or NY)...you're more than welcome to check any Arizona state gun site and find this out for yourself.
siccsoul916 3 years ago
I thought he did a pretty good job of keeping the barrel pointed in a safe direction. Its kinda neat to hear those ricochets too.
