  • All the laws that Cenk mentioned were passed with significant Democratic support. Hell, only one Senator voted against the Patriot Act. It doesn't work the other way because it's a lot harder for Democrats to pry off Republican votes than vice versa.

  • Please bring back a Bush like President. Obama is the weakest pimple on the ass of a flea that has ever been the community leader in charge. TYT you are assholes. Give it up you idiots. Your just wasting air in the room. No body cares what your saying. Or listening to you.

I just happened onto your spot in error. Opps Poor you.

  • So trueeeee!!!

  • Hahahaahaha. Obama's Admin Weakness can be found in the last couple weeks. I mean the government almost shutting down?? Seriously??? And then Obama submitting to Boehner's request just goes to show how weak his admin his and how weak the Democratic Party is. Bush getting through 9/11 should show how strong his Admin was.

  • Its because democrats are scared to piss off the american people with their stupid spending sprees and taxes. They will loose there seat in office (like this Nov. 2nd), that is why they have postponed the vote on the extension of bush tax cuts (something dummycrats hate) till after Nov. 2nd..... they cant even bring up some of the bs for a vote because its just so liberal and redundant (guns, amnesty)

  • All Bush had to say was 9-11 and the idiot Republicans would side with him every time.

is that strong, I think not......!

  • Maybe Bush got more done because more of the public (and representatives) agreed with it? hmmm It's not rocket science. So you think that just because a particular party is in the White House, whatever they want to pass, has to or should be passed?

If Lieberman is a Republican, then McCain is a Democrat. There are members on both sides that aren't liked by their own party. Wake up.

  • Bush maybe had only 50 senators, but the democrats were obviously not obstructionist as the republicans are now.

  • "but the democrats were obviously not obstructionist as the republicans are now"

What are you smoking? besides the fact that democrats and the media were bashing bush every freakin day, the democrats had until recently a super majority which means they did not NEED the republicans. Moderate democrats knew his far left policies would get they punted out of office if they followed along. So far Obama is the a total failure and his poll numbers should be a wake up call.

  • Democrats never had a super majority. Always atleast one vote shy due to leeburman. To satisfy leeburman they basically have to ditch healthcare reform. Obama's a great dude! Just what this country needed to try and mend the carnage the republicans left both economically and militarily.

  • They did have a super majority, and what ditched the HC plan was the fact that is was a 2000 page mess and the majority of the public was opposed to it and the moderate democrats knew their political future would be over if they voted for that pile of crap.

Obama great?? he has already spent more money then BUSH and its only been 1 year, he has kept with the SAME plan in iraq as Bush had and increased troops in Afghanistan and bailed out banks! WTF are you talking about??

  • @Jlaw012 "They did have a super majority" Bush bailed out the banks. Every conservative econimist agree the stimulus package was essential to keep the Bush victim alive...no choice!

Keeping with the same Bush plan is quite different from saying Obama would have taken us to war in Iraq and try to do it on the cheap as bush did...against the pentagon projections of 500,000 soldiers needed. Afghanistan was an abandoned war by bush, it decayed to trajic mess; Obama is correcting this.

  • No matter who the President is it is NOT the responsibility for the American citizens to be bailing out people who failed or abused the system PERIOD. if that means they go bankrupt and we go threw hard times for a while So Be It, its called a lesson learned. Now every time they fuck up they will be counting on the government to bail them out again so how are they learning a lesson??

  • @jlaw012.."No matter who the President..." What you say is probably agreed upon by all except for the part where we go through "hard times" for a while. It all depends on "how" hard the times are. If they are SO bad, countries like China and India establish a dominance in the world system while we are in a prolonged "depression" , then it wouldn't be in our strategic interest to go through those "hard times".

  • The government wasting our money on a temporary fix will only lead to hard times, yes by letting banks fail some people will fall on hard times but it will be mostly the people who CAUSED the problem and a lesson will be learned from it, if we bail them out then not only do the the tax payers lose the banks are invincible and will continue their bad behavior. If you know your dad will bail you out of jail every time you get in trouble you are more likely to recommit the crime.

  • Republicans and Democrats are working on the "too big" to let fail problem. If they don't fix this prob then you are correct...it'll happen again. But they are working on it. It wouldn't have been "some people" fall on hard times, it would have been the entire country in catastrophic state...our economic and military power, left in shambles for years! We probably wouldn't recover with China and India surging ahead.

  • I disagree with that dooms day assessment. In a free market other banks and institutions would pick up the slack that's what happens in all down turns the banks were given all this money and meanwhile they are not giving out many business loans. The real problem with the economy was with the housing collapse in an attempt to "diversify" loans, what a shock that the people were taking on loans they could not pay for, its politicians, people and banks fault for this problem.

  • I don't know, Cenk... Bush's administration wasn't (in my opinion) necessarily strong, but rather fascistic and monolithic. I do agree that Obama's administration hasn't passed a significant number of progressive bills, but at least he isn't dictatorial.

  • hell, Republicans should be happy right now, they have a fine Republican president in office right now.

  • Palin 2012

  • The funniest concept...don't delete your youtube id so we can laf in your face when she looses collosally.

  • @rhickle "Palin 2012"

*spews chips* BWAH AHA HA AHHHHAHAHAH

    AHHHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

sarah.. hahaha... sarah-writes-"fiscal cuts... wai wait nono ho' on ho' on cross that out.. TAX cuts.." on-her-fuckin-PALMS-Palin... is gonna be president.

Sarah -believes-earth-thousands-of-years-old-and-raptor-jesus-rode-with-the-dinosaurs-in-bethlehem-Palin ...isss gonna have her finger on the Nukes.

    uh huh SHMMK. GOTCHA. HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH

  • sad leadership...? maybe a bit of that, and maybe a bit of the fact that the GOP under bush used bullying and coercion all of the time. and obama doesn't have a domineering administration.

  • @ shanghaisam37 -

obama doesn't have a domineering administration you say...

..okay, so what? if a leadership structure can't get anything done, then it's a waste of time and money, regardless of how "nice the people there are".

we live in a modern world with brutal politics, and you need power and control to get anything acomplished - regardless of how great that acomplishment may be (such as pulling an economy from a recession).

obama "playing nice" as you say is worth nothing.

  • now i dont know about the rest of you but we gave obama one year while bush and cheny had 8 and we are about to jump ship when he hasnt got a lot done, i kind of find that stupid

  • i'm behind Obama, but i'm hoping he's stopped or will stop and listen to the objections Howard Dean has brought up. If he has already concidered the objections, he must have good reasons for pushing ahead...like to know them. Cenk says we don't have to consider Lebermans vote, and he'll go on to say we got 60 in the senate...obvious flaw in cenk's logic. Maybe we should go back to a good healtcare bill and let the fillibuster start, and see who'll blink first.

  • It's now the peasants vs the super rich. On the positive side, peasants are known for revolution. Off with their heads!

  • Cenk, there's still hope. The watered-down Senate version needs to be amalgamated w/ the more substantive House version that still has the Public Option.

  • My hope lies there too...

  • You could have saved alot of anguish for yourself just by looking at the major donors for Obama BEFORE the election to see that he was wall street and lawyers. Simple. Oh and his agenda stinks. And everybody knows it.

  • the only reason they passed anything is cause the demorats let em.

  • cant seem to find a guy who isnt a coward

  • Obama has no HUEVOS!

  • total weakness by the democratic party, not even just obama , almost every democratic senator plays so soft when fucking republicans get away with murder and no one is saying anything. these old ass democrats will eventually leave office and more liberal progressive ready to fight hard for human rights will be elected.that day will come sooner or later.

  • When did Barack turn into such a WHIMP!!!

  • He may have always been like it. I hate to agree with conservatives, but maybe us progressives didn't scrutinise the guy enough before he came into office.

  • @DillonX didn't u see him try to throw a baseball

  • i agree completely with everything that is said in this video.

  • I dont believe its weakness he is getting his agenda done he is a conservetive who campained at a senator i looking back would of VOTED FOR NO ONE and i have never missed an election because i wouldnt want palin as vice and i would of not voted for obama

  • Additionally, has not repealled the new versions of the old Roman Austrian Nazi enabling acts (PATRIOT and DHS).

The number of Senators on a given side is not key...the number of Senators/Congressman serving Rome from both 'sides' of the aisle is key.

Just a variation on the German Zentrum Party in 1933.

  • No 'weakness' vs. 'strength'.

Different servants of Rome have different goals of subversion.

    Obama scorecard to date:

Did not take oath of office properly and completely in full public view.

Gave the RCC the unimpeachable swing vote on the Supreme Court by posting Sotomayor. How did Bush come to power?

Violated sep of church/state by posting a prelate as ambassador to the holy see.

Gave the FED (Vatican money cartel) more power over its US opponents.

  • Barack needs to grow a spine.

  • As Cenk is implying, gotta give some credit to those republicans. Even when they suggest totally insane policies, they get it done. They don't fuck around. It gets done.

  • the liberals and progressives are slowly abandoning him and the republicans hate his guts ..man hes gonna be fucked next november and in 2012

  • Obama will be in a world a shit by the mid term elections and 2012 if he doesnt start fighting for the people that put his ass in the white house

  • the difference isn't the president, its congress. the republicans cheat, the democrats dont. The republicans filibuster everything, the democrats dont. the republicans enforce party unity, the democrats dont. the republicans call dissenters unpatriotic, the democrats dont.

And the dems cant get away with it if they tried because they need voters from the center while republicans only need to cater to the far right.

  • Exactly!

  • Obama does not like kicking heads. Bush and Cheney loved it.

And what Bush and Cheney wanted, the corporate interests wanted too.

  • Actually, when you adjust the US into a catogram(a map that adjusts the appearance of counties based on population) you see that the US is overwhelmingly blue.

A normal unadjusted map looks more red because conservative districts tend to be very large but with more cows than people.

  • **cartogram

  • you're kidding, right? no adjustments needed... if there was one vote per county for every piece of legislation our country wouldn't be on the verge of bankruptcy.

  • That makes no sense. Democracy depends on people, not cows and empty land.

Look it up. 2008 US Election cartogram.

  • If I got to pick people to be on my team, I would definitely pick the Bush/Cheney Admin to be on my team, they are assholes, agreed. But, they can at least get stuff done!

  • This disarms the right's logic that Obama is shoving the progressive agenda down are throats, when actually he has caved or compromised on all that have been put up for a vote, yet the idiots on T.V are still going to call him a tyrant, when he's actually letting those who call him a tyant controll and delay the progressive agenda. Irony doesn't even begin to desribe the current BS going on in Washington.

  • bush and his people view power a little differently than the dems. they also know how to use it more effectively.

  • agreed!

  • Bush+Cheney didnt give a flyin f*** about the public. If they wanted to do something THEY DID IT: war, stem cell ban, kyoto, wire tapping, torture, abstinence only etc. If our elected leaders did what the public wanted WE'D HAVE PUBLIC HEALTH CARE!!! Because poll after poll shows 60-75% of the people are FOR a public option. And give the 'patriotism' crap a rest. The conservative 'love of country' charade is glaringly betrayed by their obvious lack of concern of their fellow countrymen.

  • Total bull. Even the propagandists over at FoxNoise admit that the American people wanted the public option.

  • then why was it removed? you will always lose if you fail to see the obvious!

  • Because of parliamentary procedure i.e (having 59 votes fin favor of the public option instead of the 60 needed to end a filibuster).

  • You seem like a good guy on the surface: you claim to want to advance the will of the people and the will of their elecred representatives.

65%+ of the American people wanted the public option.

The US House of Representatives passed the public option.

And in the US Senate 59 out of 100 senators wanted the public option.

  • Not 59. More like 55.

  • For your info, I don't have cable. Secondly, those stats have been quoted by a number of sources, even conservative ones. Third, getting called an 'imbecile' by you is nothing less than flattering.

  • Response to tehantliberal's bizarre load of nonsensical bs: 1st, fear and intimidation? REALLY? Fear and intimidation was the MODUS OPERANDI of the Bush Admin. If Obama's Admin has been anything its TOO F****** NICE!! Also, Americans WERE NOT behind Bush on everything. If ya didn't notice he BARELY squeaked into office both times!!! And are you telling me that MOST Americans were FOR tax cuts for the rich? Yes, I'm sure they were ALL for tax cuts that DIDN'T BENEFIT THEM!!! Ya kiddin right?

  • Mrs. Clinton is a ball busting bitch that would get shit done....Obama can give a great speech big fucking deal! Everybody was in such a big hurry to put a black man in office that the best person for the job lost!

  • And since they are humans, this goes both ways, they are susceptible to greed, vice and bribery, but they can also choose to stand up and fight for what's right. Humans are dynamic beings if they choose it. While the first year has been a disappointment, we do have three more to go and we don't know how things will play out in those coming three years. Perhaps the failure of the public option may get some people frustrated at the Dems enough so that more of a fire is lit under them.

  • Honestly, on the one hand I am starting to agree with Cenk, the Democrats and Obama have been selling out and the first year of the Obama Administration has been a disappointment and perhaps my old idea that "their hands are tied" is not as relevant as thought, but the honest to God truth is that Obama and the Democrats (and even the Republicans) are human beings and not political machines.

  • dems have leftists, moderates and conservatives.. reps have only conservatives and hardcore conservatives..

'the family' (as in seed street) have members in both parties, and try to choke for conservative corporatist purposes on both sides..

you're frustrated because you're expecting the good guys to have a voice, but they are being drowned out by greedy conservatives.

  • maybe this goes without saying but i think another reason that the republicans more frequently votes together is because there is less of a diversity of opinion within the republican party, which is a credit to the democrats because it indicates that there a more open minded party.

  • i don't even live in america and i'm frustrated.. holly fuck that shit is pretty depressing.

  • @tehant1liberal

lmao. i hope that's a joke bud. if not i'm sorry for your loss.

  • what fear and intimidation is Obama using for his agenda, he has caved and compromised on almost all of the progressive bills, the public option was held up at one time because of one senator, and the now the medicare buy in is dead because of one senator

  • The tactics of fear and intimidation is on the republican side

  • there is no republican and democratic party, there is a CAPITOLIST CORPORATE (fascist) system. anyone who still believes it's not a play for the people hasn't researched the NWO or is scared.

  • It's funny watching Cenk's disillusionment manifest from video to video lol

  • Cenk is so funny (4:50 - 5:52)

    He is RIGHT ON.

I can't agree with him MORE!

  • Why can't Democrats grow up and be a man instead of being a little girl no wait I shouldn't say that because little girls are more tough than the democrats, all they do is listen do what ever their corporate overlord wants them to do just like the republicans.

  • Did the Bush administration get their policies passed with integrity?

  • @JuniperSun

did it matter? they got it passed... would you rather public healthcare that works or mandatory buy into private healthcare that was obtained with integrity?

  • The democrats aren't weak, they just don't want to piss off their corporate masters

  • That proves Obama is no leader & your right he's aslave to private corporations & HMO's..the democrats are a bunch of pussies.

The fmr.Republicans now Puritans are facist & pro-dictatorship

  • I sat out the election last time around because I could tell that Obama had no experience swimming with the sharks. I like the man and think he has a wonderful family but a leader he is not. His ego is out there and everyone who isn't in denial can see it...he's higher than a kite on the fact that he holds a world power position but has no idea how to use it. It's sad to say but we may have done better with McCain.

  • No. I don't think there's any way we would've done better with McCain. I agree with you on Obama but McCain and Palin were a dynamic duo of retardation, a parade of stupidity

  • Boomer....I was agreeing with you up until the "we may have done better with McCain" sentence. NO rational thinking person would agree with that statement and given the fact that his vp would have been Palin. We would be giving the richest 2% tax cuts, a war with Iran, and the debate about healthcare reform would have never began.

  • Ok, your right, McCain would have been an even larger disaster. We would have already been at war with Iran, for sure. I'm just disappointed and more than a little frustrated with the majority in Congress being such numb nuts, spineless, corporate whores. The few (very few) that represent their constituents hold no power and if they do, they are such cowards they won't use it. They get beat down by rumor and lies..it makes me sick at heart.

  • HAHAHA the ending was GREAT!!!! LOL

  • This is a good point! A strong fuck up that puts a country near a depressive state, starts two wars and made America a bad joke all over the world. Or...someone who keeps compromising his own promising agendas, to the point of redundancy, for the sake of "bipartinsanship", with the same assholes that supported said fuck up??? Damn, we're screwed!

On the bright , said smart guy has 3 more years in his term...lets see what magic he can pull out of his hat.

  • And for the love of God somebody on the left with deep pockets needs to create a 24/7 cable news channel. Were getting killed out there.

  • MSNBC says hi

  • Thats a sick joke right?

Olbermann, Maddow, and Schultz are not enough to counter the right wing current that runs deep in the media.

  • Maybe ABC CBS NBC CNN CNBC MSNBC PBS , most any news paper in the Country, and 90 plus percent of hollywood, can "counter the right wing current that runs deep in the media"?

  • Hardly. None of those "news organizations" even approach a center left bias.

And thats the truth. All "news networks" are simply propaganda. And I can count the number of lefties in the MSM on one hand.

  • Right wingers love to point to MSNBC as "left wing"

3 hours in the morning with 1994 Republican "Revolutionary" Joe Scarborough. (Who murdered an intern in his congressional office in Florida BTW)

Then its hours upon hours of "the gaggle of bimbos". Then its MEDIA WHORE AND ALL AROUND BUTTBOY Chris Matthews. (Brownnosed Bush for 8 years).

Then you have Olbermann, Maddow, and Schultz. 3 hours......

  • yeah yeah...

everyone is convinced that the media's in the pocket of the "enemy"

I'm sure you're familiar with the right's phrase "liberal media," or the left's phrase "corporate media"

You're all a bunch of conspiratorial whiners. The truth is that most media organizations try and hedge out a comfortable centrists perspective that they hope wont alienate any potential viewers

Fox news is an exception, and recently MSNBC has started positioning itself as the left's Fox

  • I am so disappointed in Obama. I keep hoping he will come around and atone for his spinelessness. But I kinda know he won't. I wouldn't believe it when a friend told me this little over a year ago: American politics are fucked. Politicians are bought by lobbyists and regardless of who runs the country nothing is going to truly, profoundly change.

I called him a cynic and I really believed Obama would do a good job and make a difference. But now I admit I was naive.

  • In fairness, there were some rational Republicans who went against Bush. Or, at least one in Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island, an old-school liberal Yankee Republican. He is a independent now so he can see even clearer.

  • 2010 election would not solve any issues, even if democrats gain few seat from both houses. Nothing will change except that lobbyist will contiuely buy off politicans

  • Im talking about ramming our agenda through in time for 2010.

We need to impeach Obama and sack Reid. They are the only two people literally stopping our agenda from being rammed through by reconciliation.

Obama uses the bully pulpit to push a corporate agenda.

Reid is a pussy who wont use reconciliation.

    Thats the strategy.

  • Single Payer

    Green Energy

    Jobs.

WE CAN GET IT DONE. WE JUST NEED TO SHUFFLE SOME PEOPLE AROUND.

  • Well, I don't think Reid is too bad. I still give him credit for at least bringing the Public Option into the equation...

  • Reid knows he has 57 Democrats fired up and ready to go. But he is a spineless jellyfish and wont bring our agenda to a vote.

He has to go. Hes gone in 2010 anyway(polls are in the shitter). But we have to get our agenda done by the midterms.

  • Obama alienated his base completely. Hes a one termer. Reid is polling in the low 40's.

These people just dont matter in the long run.

  • Oh so right. He sure definitely is just a one termer cos he just can't help being so appeasing to those who have so much power and no interest in serving the people and when I say "the people" I mean those of us who don't have the individual capital and power to influence the so called government for and by the people. There may be no government for and by the people anymore. Corporate interests has stolen the government from us.

  • Your not seeing the big picture which is fundmentally changing the system through constitional path. It takes time to change the system but we need support incoming bills from both house (I don't think its been introduce to the floor yet)

  • What does that even mean!!! That doesnt mean anything!!!!!

  • sonyavsystem

I think your confused? The system is corrupted from the core. Only way we, the people could change the system is by through campaign reform. Right now, cynical cycle is this lobbyist->politicans->make policy that favors lobbyist interest. We need to break this cycle

  • Dont get me wrong.

Im trying to scrap together a quick fix strategy for the 2010 elections.

Im in favor of scrapping the whole god damn system, busting up the Dem party, stealing the DNC, 160 progressives in the HoR, and a 56 senators, and running a populist platform.

Fuck blue dogs. They are Republicans. Dump them.

  • But thats a long term strategy. We got less than a year people.

    LOOK ALIVE! MOVE MAN MOVE!

  • We need to impeach Barack Obama ASAP. Use the teabaggers to our advantage.

Once Obama is gone and Joe Biden & Nancy Pelosi are in the White House, pivot on a populist platform and steal some of the anti-Obama sentiment.

  • Take advantage of the fact that the average teabagger doesnt know shit. They are ripe for the taking. Combine their raw stupidity with a focuses progressive left and we can move any agenda forward.

  • sonyavsystem....dumbest comment of the YEAR

  • Progressives hate banks and wall street

The average teabagger hates banks and wall street, but it used by those very groups.

    Obama loves bankers and wallstreet.

Its pretty obvious what the winning strategy is.

  • Dump Obama and you open up so many doors and opportunities.

  • I meant to say penalize ppl if they don't have health insurance

  • vandreadparty

I don't understand your point of view. Obama is president of USA, that title should mean something. He doesn't know what the fuck he is doing,he is elimating his base

Obama has not been involved in Health care reform from the start. He is all talk and nothing to show for. For regarding about the bill, its FUCKING useless when it manadate ppl to buy PRIVATE health insurance and fines ppl if they happens to have insurance. It won't contain cost without any sort public option

  • completely understand cenk frustration but he is being too hard on the administration what he fails to talk about is that demarcates r different from republicans so what bush can get past at 50 obama can't that is the truth & yes u should complain when they r in the wrong but on healthcare it great that you want public option but what is the point if u don't have the votes Obama has been fighting for health care reform & he has just come to the conclusion that something is better than nothing

  • obama is a convenient scapegoat for angry liberals....the real problem is that the senate has only a HANDFUL of real progressives....and the rest of them...blue dogs and republicans....have been there for 20 - 30 years raking in millions from corporate interests....they are hardline conservatives from red states who have created and entire ideology....that says govt. is bad...and private industry is good....how exactly was obama supposed to change this deep rooted corrupt system by himself ?

  • Cenk does not have the stomach for politics and at times seems like he just does not get it...Maybe it's just a shtick.

  • I think the opposite...unless you mean he can't stand the outcomes. He is generally strong willed about politics and is at his best when angry about it...but maybe you're right, because he always seems optimistic. Is the nature of politics cynicism, devoid of optimism?

  • No, Cenk in unrealistic and draws false conclusions about issues and politicians based on his gut feelings or emotion (if you will) and often seems like he is out of his league. Like in this video for example, Cenk is willfulling ignorant about the reality that exist in the democratic party. The party is not homogenous, just because Obama is not doing just what Cenk wants he says Obama is a corporate shill and really it's alot more complicated.

  • haaaa haaaa you are a dumb ass who does not get politics.... there is right and wrong and compromise is just a temporary bandage ...look at legal unions, dont ask dont tell, and during jim crow the separate but "equal" laws. you dont compromise with people who are wrong. This is why America is slowly becoming a third world country while the rest of western countries are doing the right things.

  • If you don't compromise then you do nothing...You seem to be the one who does not understand...Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.

  • Progressives want to see the end of private health care, but not all Democrats are progressives and not all of us want to see the end of private health care. The health care reforms in the bill are good and they provide a good platform to build health care on in the future. I'm not going to pooh pooh health care reform because it does not every single thing I want. Other people have opinions too and compromise is the name of the game.

  • it looks as if health care issue has been compromised to where it's no longer recognizable...that's why people are angry...because they want visible and immediate change

  • It takes time, to be honest nobody really evan knows what's in the senate bill. We knew it was going to be ugly, but we can't jump ship every two weeks when we think things are going bad. Every two weeks Cenk comes out and says health care reform is dead and he has been right zero times. Something will get passed that we can build on. That's how it works, look at social security and medicare. If we don't lay some kinda foundation, you casn forget about any health care reform ever.

  • "Something will get passed that we can build on"

    HAHAHAHA. Sure, right, yeah.

  • I told you befor dont evan waste your breath I don't give a shit what you have to say you are a loon.....

  • Different strokes, Imcdowall.

    mopsius finds Imcdowall hilarious.

  • Now, get along little fella, you may be late for the schoolbus.

  • he has been saying its been dead for weeks and it is! he is right. You are gonna have to live with forever with all the bad stuff thats in the bill, you can add to the bill but to take shit out will never happen. guaranteed 30 years from now progressive will be fighting to remove from the law some of the things that are gonna get passed. we need to kill the bill (as it is now) and come back in a few years when obama is out of office. Single payer health care system will be passed one day !

  • That's delusional...Mark my words if this does not pass you won't see health care reform for 15 to 20 years and single payer will never happen in America.

  • i believe in my country unlike you, the senators that will bring you single payer healthcare are most likely in middle school-high school maybe college so I wouldnt be so quick to say it'll never happen. ten years go by fast, its been almost 10 years since 9/11 , I'm willing to wait the 15 years to save thousands of childrens lives that are going to be still dying under this bill.

  • This bill will cover people now and save lives now...Tell that to the people who have no health care now and would have health care under this bill "I'm willing to wait the 15 years to save thousands of childrens lives" ...Those people will be dead in 15 years.

  • Obama is really starting to piss me off. Democrats have the majority and all they are doing is apologizing for themselves. It's time for Obama to take the helm and get the change we voted for passed. If things keep on the way they have been going Obama will be a one term president and then America will be fully fucked. Get a fucking grip Obama. Don't let America down!

  • maybe from the perspective of corporate America...that is Obamas strength...

the ability to convince people that change will happen...

  • Cenk, I think you're finally starting to realize tha fundamental problem with American politics. All of them, Republican and Democrat, are corrupt. They are all crooked, and none of them give a fuck about you or I or anybody else who doesn't give them millions in campaign contributions. If we want to get the point across, have somebody primary Obama like Ted Kennedy did to Jimmy Carter in 1980. That'll get the message across.

  • Jank made the point for me Bush was the man Bush never pissed and moaned he pulled up his boots and went to work.

  • Progressives want President Obama to be the sword wilding liberal super hero who makes rethuglican heads explode. Didnt they misinterpret "I want to change how DC works" ? For the last 20 or more years members of the senate, congress waited for marcing orders.Which works out because if anything fails they blame the President. The only thing I fault the Obama admin for is expecting people to do thier job and not be told to do it.

  • I can't agree more, with everything in this video enough.

What good is a fuel injected, V12, variable timing, overhead cam, supercharged race car, when you can't drive it because no one can agree on the wheels.

This two party system has FAILED the American people. I believe our gov. has been on the take for a long time now, and more and more they don't even try to hide it anymore.

We just go deeper into the downward spiral!

  • it's sad to say...but it seems that some liberals (like cenk)....are just as dishonest as some on the right...like jim demint claiming that the GOP is too far to the left....cenk conveniently wants to pretend that the democratic party is 100% united on major issues...and can therefore move ahead and steamroll through....but obama is somehow too weak to lead....THAT IS FALSE....the dems are split between real progressives who wanted change (obama)....and corporatists who get money to stop change

  • We need Sarah Palin as president for she will bring REAL change! She is the REAL messiah and savior of this country!

  • ecwaufisxtreme....i would love sarah palin as president (so long as i was dead)....it would show arrogant libs like cenk the true make-up of the democratic party....and the senate....all of the blue dogs would join the republicans in support of palin's agenda

  • that is a weak argument. The democratic party is no different than the republicans... the difference is that obama never pressures the party for his agenda... he just let the democratic party do what ever they do... while trhe republic party use their power to hold some of their members on a short leash when they don't comply to party ideals

  • robinvan1983...how many republicans ever stray from the pack ?....1 or 2....and it doesn't matter anyway....the republicans know they can get some blue dog conservative corporatist democrats to join them....obama doesn't have that option...when he was actually trying to get olympia snowe's vote...the angry libs like cenk called him a traitor and weak....now it seems like he knew what he was doing....1/3 of his own party is sabotaging his agenda...the republicans would never have that problem

  • no, he has enough democrats for 51 votes... but somehow he is so stubborn to be bipartisan and have 60 votes that he waters down any bill to get it. look at lieberman... he basically dictates what should be in the bill just to get his single vote

  • Or you can look at it this way: after Bush and Co. walked all over the Senate and Congress they're really reluctant to do ANYTHING. They're so afraid they'll screw it up again like they did with tax cuts and Iraq that they'd rather just be completely immobile than actually DO anything.

  • I hope Obama realizes if he continues on his current path, he'll never be reelected. I'm not going to support him again.

My prediction: our government is going to be gridlocked for years to come. Republican or Democrat, it doesn't matter. It is the era of uncooperation.

Obama sucks! Hillary is looking good to me right now.

And Lieberman needs to go find a hole and jump in.

  • This is simply another smoke screen for the fact that the Democratic party is but one arm of the two party/same corporate master system of government.

We need to face the fact that Democrats aren't there to do the will of the people,

but rather the will of their corporate masters. Thus, despite having unprecedented power, little if anything of true substance is going to be achieved.

  • @ecwaufisxtreme lol i see you, your to funny

  • it's amazing to me how quickly so many liberals became REVISIONISTS when they want to compare obama to bush....bush had and used the cover of 9/11 to get large portions of his agenda through....he had corporatist conservative blue dogs...from RED STATES....to help him along the way...with "bi partisanship"....obama has literally ZERO republican support....there are no liberal GOP....the blue dogs rebel on everything....what is obama supposed to do...if he wants to get anything passed ?

  • no strive for bipartisan and go ffor 51 votes...you wanted change from obama right? then who cares if it isn't bipartisan or 60 votes? as long as the bill is good and actually benefit the people... cause his financial and healcare reform is getting very weak

  • robinvan1983...51 votes is a false number...reconciliation is like chopping your leg off because you have a sprained ankle...to use it on HCR would completely gut it (even more)...you would lose virtually all of the remaining "reforms" in the bill...until the rules are changed this is how the game is played....the blue dogs can side with the republicans (corporations)...and destroy every reform...the annoying thing is...when they do...liberals make obama the scapegoat...and they get off the hook

  • so how come bush never needed 60 votes for a bill? his bills seemed to be doing all right.... even today

  • robinvan1983...first off....bush's tax cuts were easily done in reconciliation...secondly...they are now expiring under obama....to get long lasting change....you must go through the "normal" process....which is messy....if the democrats (specifically in the senate) weren't so conservative...corportists....then obama could get what he promised....but these old assholes have been in congress since obama was in college...and have been raking in corporate money since then....obama can't change that

  • Comment removed

  • The difference of course is Bush was trying to HELP those who have the money and power in America, get MORE money and power.

Obama is trying to TAKE away money and power from those who currently have it.

  • Obama is a black BUSH!

  • Obambi and Dubya's administrations are both INFERIOR to Sarah Palin's administration! Palin's all woman administration is STRONGER than both Obambi and Dubya!

  • @ecwaufisxtreme

Yeah right, what a fine political analysis by someone with xtreme in his name. I am so impressed.

    Ignorance is bliss.

  • @ecwaufisxtreme

Btw, last time I checked there was no such thing as a Palin administration. She resigned. You know that?

Is she too strong to govern a huge state like Alaska? -sarcasm
