@MrBonnalurken LOL emo? obviously u didnt grow up in this time period. Nirvana and grunge ruled because it was actual rock and the opposite of all those queer-glam-rock bands where all the guys dressed in make-up and girl clothes.
grunge music could be the closest we will ever get again to the great music of the late 60's and 70's rock
@willieramsey21 Your point was ... what? That you can't compose a sentence and spell ARE or COUCH? Where I'm from emo music doesn't count as history.
@MrBonnalurken U r poorly educated-- anyone with any type of music knowledge knows that Nirvana is not emo--they were consider grunge; if you're going to dis a band,at least get the genre right moron. Furthermore, it doesn't matter what counts as history where your from, the fact is that this band brought underground music to the masses, knocked Micheal Jackson off the Billboard Charts, sold over 30 million albums worldwide & you? Well you're still a loser who's band never made it; bye bitch :)
@boykza your just a third world country, that is why "grunge" scene is all around you along with all the grungy people that live there just keep them there, you know what the USA thinks about your country Nothing we think of Canada more and we view that as our attic and Mexico as a sewer of Drugs and stupid corrupt Mexican Government
Actually, the meaning of emo and emo music came out grunge music because it was raw and emotional. Emo music however was much different then what it has become.
@badsign1980 Agreed and by the time ANY scene hits the masses it's usually on the heels of what was real and slowly starts its descent. Popular music before those bands came around was horrible and more about hair spray and lip stick then anything else. The Seattle movement took it back to the streets and was more about the music then the latest eye shadow, but even that scene became a fake and hollow parody of itself.
Sadly, money changed grunge. It was repackaged metal-punk for mass consumption...it was all a big product. Nihilism and success of grunge work about as well as rebellion and success of punk....
Nirvana is the greatest emo band ever.

Not quite, Sunny Day Real Estate are emo. Modest Mouse is a indie band.

@Gmancrap Now they're indie, back in the day, they were the essence of what evolved into emo.

Hmm, I buy it. Wow I didn't know that.

@Gmancrap As someone who grew up in Seattle during the 80's & 90's, these are the things I know!

Yeah, it didn't take long for this "scene" to become nothing more than a punchline. God, people take themselves so seriously.
