One of my Hero's back in my High School days, this cat was the man! with the big fro and Tux. I remember play Sax in the marching band and Pep Band and trying to be hip like Lenny.
It's called "Closing Theme: A Waltz in 'A'." It was written back in the birth years of SNL (can't remember which year) by none other than Howard Shore (LOTR composer, and I believe the first musical director of SNL). There used to be a site with a picture of the original hand written music with notes to the different players, kind of neat to see if you can find it.
My ALL TIME favorite sax player !

Thanks for sharing this. This is the kind of thing which would probably never make it to TV, but is great to have on YouTube.

Does anyone know the name of the song they play at the end every SNL shows? The saxophone part is so good.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything on google. :(

It might be something as simple as "A Minor Blues" if I'm not mistaken. Great chord progression, I'll say.

"East Bay Grease" is one of the greatest albums ever made. "Thought I'd sleep in the park last night". This guy must have some terrific memories.
