I went into this movie not knowing what it was about, and i thought she was a sort of surrogate mother to him... and then they did it. That just blew me away because it felt like incest. but ya going in not knowing that, its quite a shock. still a great film... up until it gets romancey. uck.
I'm glad they didn't feel the need to include the more "in-depth" kissing scenes into the film in order for it to be believable and have an immense affect on people. They didn't rely on naked women and an explosion of some sort every thirty minutes to make this a great film like Hollywood trash does nowadays.
This is one of my all time favourite movies!! I've watched it at least a dozen times! Ruth Gordon was an amazing talent! She has left a wonderful legacy of performances and writings for generations to enjoy. Ruth Gordon 10/30/1896 - 8/28/1985
I saw several videos here with different scenes in the youtube, besides one that appears them two if kissing. This scene of the kiss doesn't have in my film. Did I see that you also like the film... do you know how to say why we don't have this beautiful scene in our recordings of the film?
i LOVE this movie Ruth Gordon and Bud Cort are so perfect together!!! They got shit pay for it too ... isnt that ironic the great actors get shit pay and the ones who make a zillion dollars make crap...
I was 11 when this came out and it had a profound effect on me. Classic and wonderful!
Couple of scenes here that didn't make it into the movie, I think. I could be wrong, though. I don't remember the guys with the "fuck war" sign and I don't remember Bud Cort ever saying "Where's my old lady?" Am I right or have I been huffing too long on "snowfall on 42nd st?" ;))
Why no kiss in the film?! We've been robbed!

Why can't they make movies this witty and well done anymore?
Hollywood has really gone down hill; but then again, this is the best movie ever created...
