    I actually don't think it will work because the sweet potato used in this recipe is different in taste. It tastes a little bit like potato and chestnut, while the orange ones taste more like potato and carrot.~

  • I wish they'd give sources for hard copies of these recipes. I like knowing what I'm doing with the actual measurements. He just says to measure the sweet potatoes. Why? How does that effect the ratios for the other ingredients? I know it does, but why do we have to calculate those ratios for ourselves based on what they use?

  • @Koaandl I read the description over and over for five minutes. It just has the amounts of each ingredient used. That's not a recipe; it's just a shopping list.

  • @Metqa Can I hit you people? Have you ever looked at an actual cookbook? Have you seen a recipe? I'm not asking for someone to read the ingredients list to me. I've read through dozens of times. An actual recipe is not just a list of ingredients and the amount of one ingredient can very well effect others exponentially instead of linearly. As the video stands, the dog's statement of "Measure the sweet potato" is a nonsequitor & a full recipe in the description would be greatly appreciated

    I still don't get what you're confused about? The actual recipe is in the vid and the ingredients list is in the description. The measure the sweet potato is just making sure you have the appropriate amounts (so assuming you weigh them before you'll be fine). Sure it's a little confusing if you obsess over it but no need!

  • @elliepi You probably could, but you certainly wouldn't want to wrap the sweet potato in plastic wrap if you do. Well, unless you want laminated sweet potatoes...

  • @DerpPurple actually there are multiple colors and some are a little different than others. The japanese sweet potatoes tend to be a little sweeter, more like a yam.

  • I made this. I did not have rum so I used brandy. It came out perfectly. We all enjoyed it. It's very easy and quick to make.

  • I just go through making this, it was rather difficult but SO worth it! The inside was beautifully fluffy and deliciously sweet! Definitely worth a try for anyone curious enough! Just be sure to get the japanese sweet potato, that makes it much better than domestic american sweet potatoes

  • That`s a nice idea for a sweet recipe with sweet potatoes.

    But heating the plastic wrap in the microwave... thats not healthy.

    Everybody should bann all teh plastic from his or her kitchen and the food.

    that's why she wrapped the sweet potato with wet paper towel. the plastic doesn't melt because the moist from the paper absorbs the heat so the plastic is harmless...

  • Great video, but I would recommend not using saran wrap to heat the sweet potatoes, because research has shown that heating saran wrap leaks toxins into food. It is best just to use a paper towel.

  • I cook sweet potatoes in an american microwave all the time and using a damp paper towel would work best, it holds in the moisture and keeps it from tasting stale.

    dairy cream -> soy cream

    butter -> soy baking butter
