@atonic08 because theres less oxygen higher up , they get used to having less oxygen and adapt to it, then in the races back at low altitude they are fitter and get less puffed out
mum, instead of complaining, use the opportunity to build your city and attract foreign runners. i hear the ministry of tourism is spending money to rennovate the stadium and help attract tourist to your town. why not look for funds to expand roads and build trails to help with congestion. mom, i would urge you to pursue business marketing, planning and expansion. these runners are going to boost the economy in the area if you take the right steps.
it helps bc, when you have high class runners in the city training, it attracts more world class runners, apparel sponsors and , media. they need aplace to live, eat hence boosting the economy of the town. economics 101
this is really cool stuff. its nice to see how they can still thrive without any modern technology of equiptment. Just free running in a clean natural enviroment.
at 1:00 omg if thats theyre constant pace then theyre beasts! thats almost my sprinting speed hahaha
I live at 4,327 ft above sea level. When I go down to sea level running is far easier. It's actually low oxygen training and not really about the height.
Id like to live somewhere of high altitude...a clear example of how your environment works on you as an organism...the environment & its effects are invisible to the average eyes, but if you are attentive you'll observe how closely peoples moods & personality are changed just by small shifts in the weather..like I notice how much the mood will change when a cloud passes in front of the sun for a few minutes & people become solemn..then the sun comes back out and suddenly the energy is back up..
This video is awesome!!! Finally some good news about Africa. Im tired of only hearing the bad stuff about africa in my world Studies class. Thanks Rocketboom!!!

1700 is a good altitude to train because most of stadiums at near the sea level
also they train there to get a better pulmonary capacity so when go to sea level they get more oxygen on blood
other exaple are Peru and Bolivia ppl that live at high altitudes they got big chests and short legs

1700 is nothing. the real altitude of the location is 2400, which is still pretty low, the reason they are so good is because they are black.

it's because it's probably chilly up there, so when he runs, he gets hot and his sweat gets condensed. Like when you exhale warm air on a cold day.
Dizzi800 2 years ago
You know when you breath out on a cold day and fog replaces your breath? It's that.
