  • ....annnnnd 149 people miss the click.

  • I heard it through the Facebook :(

  • los amoooooooooooooo

  • Remind me of when the California Raisins did this song.

  • Extended play version on I believe Creedence Clearwater Revival Gold album is awsome, like 8-9 minute range, Old Time Rock N' Roll, Lawdy!

  • Wonderfully satisfying (Mick Jagger take note), blood pumping, plain old vanilla, American Rock N' Roll!

  • i love this song:)

  • 149 LONELY, SAD PEOPLE. SHAME ON YOU GUYS..

  • Cool playing. Cool drumming. Just plain cool.

  • dance till you can't dance no more.....on the album version though.

  • Love this; thanxs for sharing. :)

I heard through the grapevine that...

RakyMaky's New Year's Day present from YouTube was to have his wonderful Channel terminated :/

    Took me by suprise!

I'm just about to loose my mind :'(

    Loved your Channel Raky. :*

  • Um wasn't this edited and released as a single in 1976? That was what 3 or 4yrs after the breakup? The album version is 11mins long!

  • You didn't 'hear' it, you didn't 'heard' it...you 'HOID' it!

  • @SumoSushiHAI Hoid indeed! Best Cajun accent ever to come out of El Cerrito, California. Also the best swamp rock sound ever. Once upon a time i thought CCR were kind of weird being from the Berkeley area and sounding so southern, but the man (JForgerty) responded to what he loved and he played it from his heart. Never heard what Marvin thought of this version, but I am sure he loved the royalty checks it earned him!

  • @marinman39 DAMN RIGHT!!!

  • i don't know if i like this or the marvin gaye version better..

  • Well to you all people that I think like the CCR music, and I think since you are here; I expect more from you. I you are in this page is because you like the CCR for them selfs and for their music; not to talk about others that sang the songs that they created. If so just go to the those pages, simple. I like the way Marvin Gaye sings this song, great voice and great feeling. But what is original is original and is the real thing. Enjoy it as it is, because that is the way it was ment to be.

  • wuuuu

  • i always thought they were all black,(they sounded black)

I had never before seen a video of this band, but heard "Fortunate Son" a few hundred times :D

  • Great band! great music!

  • No. I will not "thumbs up" your comment just because we have the same taste in music. Stop whoring for the top comment, no one gives a shit anyways.

  • I Think I'm Turning Gay D: but I'm Gonna Say it, John Fogerty looks so sexy playing that way xD!

  • Comment removed

  • CCR - The art of making simple classical music!

  • No one can replace the older songs like these!!! We wouldn't need American Idol at all!!!! Brings back the good old days but also reminds me of my X husband ... Loved all their songs from then. Keep singing and dancin to the street parties in the late 60's.. yeah!

  • @myms06 we dont have the drugs that they had back then =P

  • @retardsincharge actually, you're wrong. Hate to break it to you, but drugs are stronger now. Dont state stupid ass shit. Thanks love!

  • @retardsincharge yes we do we just have better ones

  • can you imagine this guy on "american idol" ooofaaa this boy sure can sing

  • Sooooo... effortless.:)

  • τι κομματαρα γαμω τη πουτανα!!

  • love em

  • NEVER GET BORED OF THIS SONG TENTH TIME HEARING IT

  • Great cover version!

  • OOOO he's good!

  • @Fingolfincl

    not gonna happen....get over it.

  • @Fingolfincl

    shit happens, get over it.

  • @Fingolfincl

Remember when you didn't have to read dumbass comments in every single video?

  • @askesis Who says you HAVE to

  • Comment removed

  • @askesis yes, and urs is one of them

  • Comment removed

  • @Fingolfincl lol This isn't even a Vevo channel and if ads are gay get adblocker for chrome and firefox ... problem solved.

  • he is still playing with this gibson live for a lot of song :)

  • real fucken music, if you enjoy sound, you appreciate this song

  • Who said white boys don't have soul! This is pure soul at it's best. Always loved Credence. Shame that they broke up so early, think of all we could have had and missed from them. It goes to show you that they cared more about other things than just money and fame.

  • The guitar is sex

  • @fredstuckmann *facepalm*...its not marvin gaye's song. it was originally recorded by smokey robinson

  • CCR does the best cover of Marvin's great song out there. imo. The album version is much longer than this and features the instrumental talents of CCR

    very nicely.

  • CCR some good drinkin music

  • the short version

  • podcast?

  • THUMBS UP FOR ALL CAPS RAGE

    Not. I don't care :D

  • 138 people heard their parents having sex through the grapevine...

  • The first song I ever danced to at the juinor high school. Yes Creedence is bad to the bone.

  • they broke up cause fogerty despite being incredibly talented was also equally if not more of a self-indulgent prick to the guys in his band. In his mind it was HIS band because he wrote all the tunes. Just listen to the lyrics in penthouse pauper. WHILE AMAZING he's still all about John. Legally and monetarily fucked them over. No way to have any lasting band.

  • @keentune well shit, you just made me feel so different about them now....

  • ooooh this is nice!

  • i'm 18 and this is one of my favorite songs of all time. Modern CCR fan right here

  • @heatwade332 music these days are shit, 60's 70's 80's was the revolution of musc.

  • im gonna have to go with marvin gaye, he is just such a better singer than this guy is. its not even close, he cant even say the words right.

  • @MrKjh33 Well, to be honest, I don't listen to this song for the voice, but for the instrumentals. If you listen to the 11 minutes version, you'll see what I'm talking about. Basically, the last half of this cover is just drum and guitar MADNESS and that's what I love about these guys, their way of playing a song. And you can clearly see how much fun they're having while doing so.

  • bad ass, man. one of the greatest bands of all time

  • This REndition is the shit ! . . .

  • John Fogerty has such an amazing and catchy voice.

  • He looks just like my best friends ex.

  • Bad to the bone

  • este grupo marco una era una era de la cual fui y sigo siendo parte y mis hijos tambien

  • Hey pachuco, Why you corrupt both languages? Stupid man, either speak English, o habla Castellano ignorante maricon.

  • @raba4701 haha lol

  • crap they look so happy together why did they had to break up so early. doesn´´t anyone feel like this?

  • @theJuicyblues They broke up cause John had communist ideas for the band(I dont mean a actual mean communism) But he only wanted the band to play what he wanted to play, and only played shows he agreed to play at,and what songs to play and he wrote the songs and stuff its a shame to they are such a Great Band

  • @theJuicyblues Yes I agree!

  • CHINGONA LA ROLITA, LA FAVORITA DE MI AMORSOTE, PACO KE NO MIJO????

  • my least favortie since tina turner runied it playing it every other song on the radio GAWD i hated that.

  • 強力モータウン・カバー、クリーデンスの"悲しい噂"~マービン、グラディスも真っ青のジョン・フォガティーの声と、後半のギター音

  • @blackandtanful i totally agree

  • top noch

  • TEMÚN!!!

  • I hoyed it through the grapevine too.

  • rip tom fogarty he was one of those real underated rhythm guitarists, i know from experiance playing the rhythm parts to the likes of this, that he was an essential part of ccr and could never be replaced

  • so awesome!

  • U need beer! shut off your phones and computers just listening on a jukebox at countryside! that feeling wow!

  • Hey,

    Great classic. Peace

    -MW

  • yes it was a good time to be a teenager back then

  • @lorretta69 unlike now days

  • @envyandgreed15 I know!! How old are you? i'm 18

  • Genuine chemistry.. i also love the fact that they all have smiles and look liek they're enjoying the hell out of it. I wish i was born during that time.

  • Americas answer to the Beatles!!!

  • @czechm8z apples and oranges. Completely different music styles.

  • @czechm8z circumstantial evidence proves you right. my theory is that there are 143 people that enjoy listening to Insane Clown Posse and also happened upon this video.

  • @czechm8z if this is the answer to the beatles what was the answer to the rolling stones

  • Only these guys sing better! ;)

  • Comment removed

  • Robin here. Must say once again, I am totally entralled by this version. It brings me life, it gives me just the right body rhythm to keep on going, come what may. I have come to the conclusion that free music sharing is the only visible sign of what is left of human civilisation. Regards to all.

  • John Fogerty is doing a world tour this year .

  • great cover :)

  • i atleast heard it through the grapevine... great band

  • Creedence sure put a stick in the spokes of the bicycle of the british invasion.

  • There is just something about seeing a bunch of guys singin' & playin' & smilin'..

.they don't look pissed off at their guitars, nor do they look constipated or angry - just enjoying the music and performing. That vibrancy certainly comes through in their music....AWESOME!

  • @maximumgravity You said it all,,

  • your right that is a pretty kick ass song.... they do an awesome job, I forgot how great they were

  • Does anyone know what that band is doing today, especially the lead singer?

  • I like this one cause you can see whose actually singing

  • Dat Bass...

  • ccr kicks ass, I just wish the rest of the band members would've buried the hatchet with john specially his late brother tom

  • heeuurrd it... haha

  • I said it before and I'll say it again: FUCKING LEGENDS!!!!!!

  • Music as it needs to be... enough said!! :)

  • Gods!

  • u.u

  • Not only is the 10minute+ version by CCR the best-by-far version of this, but would be in the running for the best cover version of any song. Def. one of the best live rock groups ever, alongside Skynyrd, Stones, Crazy Horse, the Band; and what a classic collection of their own songs they left behind, songs that always will sound fresh, unlike today's over-produced crap.

  • Can't stand the Marvin Gaye version, Creedence just saved this song for me!

  • thumbs up for pink drums B-) :P

  • I thought the lead singer was black when I heard it

  • @boliboy2299 cause you probly heard the marvin gay version ;)

  • hooid it through the grapevine

  • I don't think this is the whole song... This song has a long ass solo!

  • @Quintin551ROBLOX yah the long version is 10 minutes long

  • @Quintin551ROBLOX Ya this is the single version. Radio stations dont tend to play 11 min versions.

  • @Quintin551ROBLOX

Very true. Theres an 11 min version they also recorded on the Cosmos Factory album... I grew up listening to my Dads album of this and love the entire chill out factor the album has (even today). Everyone needs a copy of this album in their collection, regardless of what type of music they are into.

  • @TheFunchick73 couldnt agree more with you. Everybody needs this album!

  • @Quintin551ROBLOX We know that this isn't the whole song. BUT IT KICKS ASS ANYWAY :D.

  • @Quintin551ROBLOX Yes! where is it?

  • This is the best band in the world.

  • oh dannng! am i THAT OLD?? i remember hearing this for the first time when i was in JR HIGH. dancing down the ‘row’ in my bobbie socks at the noon dance! (and CREEDENCE are as GREAT SOUNDING AS EVER!!!) …here wait,..let me go put some bobbie socks on...

  • You people that keep up mentioning that little douchebags Justing Bieber name in all of the greatest artist videos in anyway, good your adding to the attention he gets your advertising his name. You will keep seeing more and more of him wherever you go. sadly I had to bring his name up to make this point and I hate doing it.

  • My favorite song to dance to.You can get really nasty to this one................

  • this band is always happy :D

  • @957059f The stones had a ton of movies

  • Great song but I recommend listening to 11 minute version!

  • @pjautuvas 11 minutes of.... I can't even describe it, perfection! I prefer this one even if Marvin Gaye's is amazing as well!

  • @Loudyest

I hear you, love Marvin's, but this is my fave of the two!

  • @pjautuvas It's a sweet solo, but a fricking long one.

  • @AccordionThis haha.. my boyfriend plays this song every time (in the jukebox) and we're pretty sure it's the longest song in there!! haha.. everyone's looking at us like Damn.. how long is this song

  • I remember performing this song in primary school 7 years ago and I still know all the words to it

  • I went to the store today and saw Folders that were Kiss and AC/DC and I looked all through the pile and thought to myself Where is CCR!?!?!?

  • fogarty and paul rodgers...two of the best voices ever!

  • Where did music like this go?

    I want it back.

  • Good evening. It's me, Robin, again. Just wanted to say that the fact that new comments keep coming in shows how this group lives on. And that says alot!!

This version is absolutlely hypnotizing. Thanks again to kvs 123 for sharing. All the best to everyone.

  • kvs your a genius!

  • some LSD.

  • 01:09 he feels the tear :)

  • cool

  • These here 'White Boys can really jam. I started listening to them in 'NAM and to flash back every now then does the mucis mind good. All their stuff IS great just ask Tina Turner who gave them prop (respect) on her and Ike's version of 'Proud Mary

Their record company shouldn't have fuck with such a recording group that ROCKED any tune, Country, R/B, or Blues.

  • Creedence are one of the rare bands where I've yet to meet anyone that doesn't like them, or thinks they're "overrated". Says a lot for their greatness IMO.

  • 131 dislikes doesnt know what real music is about....

  • Seems like more and more people are making a mad dash for this older music, lets face it,most music today is manufactured!

So come on you executives, keep making this new shit!

    We will destroy you!

  • this gives me the chills its to good

  • Sweet classic rock-n-roll!!!! honey-honey yeah!!!

  • es genial esta musica me trasporta a la felicidad

  • Really soulful. Thanks for sharing this video clip. Robin

  • anyone hear this from shock thatre tv show? lol

  • JOHN FORGETY WAS MY ROLE MODEL WHEN I WAS A BOY BRING BACK MEMORIES WHEN I WAS A BOY BACK IN EL SALVADOR.. LOVE THIS BAND TILL I DIE ...

  • I wouldve liked to have been born 60 years ago

  • They were the 1st grunge (dressed) band! Love the beards!

  • It's spelled "Heyd" As in " Heyd it through the grapevine."

  • @Korban3 Yeah, you are right. John had his own language. I was going to say something about what you said, but didn't know how to spell heyd. lol

  • @dawnjakeleah Glad I could help :P That was my big problem with Tina Turner doing Proud Mary. She said everything wrong. Really adds some flavor to his music, the way he says some things.

  • @dawnjakeleah I like the way he said burning, among others. That's what made his style so great. Big wheel keep on bournin - wouldn't even know how to spell that. John, you rock even after all these years.

  • I love all the people who think that they are so smart by dissing all modern music and thinking that everything today is utter shit. Cheers! By the way, CCR rocks.

  • @IbanezFreysi You are right. I am 50 and grew up listening to CCR. There is a lot of good music today, time will tell if it is great like this.

  • I blame MTV for killing rock n roll. Would've been nice to see these days

  • I remember my dad telling me this song was used back in the 70's for a raison commercial. Great Band & Great Song!

  • Oh Lord what's with the music today??

  • CCR greatest rock band of all time

  • okay the instrumental break at 1:00 super sick

  • Sing it man Sing it

  • @wilmusgrave90...thanks for that....saw them in 68 fifth row, mpls auditorium...amazing!

  • john and tom fogerty, stu cook...um can't remember drummer's name

  • @TheIrishlad12 The Drummer is Doug Clifford there an awesome band

  • When I was a kid I thought this was sung by a black woman from the late 60's gospel/soul era. Obviously its not and ive known this for ages but it shows how good they are. Soul, gospel, country, and what ever else you can think of wrapped up into one.
