  • i like comodo but they need to work on thier sandbox for example alienware controller tell it not to isolate program and also have it in trusted programs,it remembers it until you reboot 2nd time it asks again and puts it back into sandbox.other then that thier a good product.

  • That one temp file was sandboxed, so it really wasn't a shock that it wasn't running in ram, considering it was isolated.

  • *Facepalm*

The backdoor was already blocked and sandboxed so it couldn't do anything. And when you scan with Ccleaner, remember to click "Run Cleaner" so you can remove it.

  • i like malwarebyte because is free

  • Dress it up as much as you like, the fact is Comodo Internet Security failed. It let infected files onto the HDD when it should've prevented them, then it couldn't remove the damned things when it found them in a scan. How you can say that 'you're not worried about them' being on your HDD is a total farce. I respect your videos, but c'mon.. if you really want comodo to improve, tell it like it is, not just what they want to hear!

  • @elmoh8er4life nope, I never test my links.

  • @elmoh8er4life I'm using zero day malware, basically malware that have a very low detection ratio.

  • @ Languy99

So what you're saying is Comodo left 2 viruses on the HDD (one of them very nasty), and couldn't delete them both using a full Comodo scan, had to use CCleaner to get shut of the temp file, and then tell us that Comodo is one of, if not the best antimalware software available? I'm sorry mate, if a Virus gets on your HDD, the AV has failed, whether or not it's running in memory. Granted, Comodo is the best FREE AV out there, but please stop touting it as the best AV you can use.

  • this causes nothing but problems for me, games are laggy and i dc alot

  • Comodo much?

  • I am using MSE should I switch for comodo?

  • @2dayCA You could if you really want to, Comodo is definately much better, but uninstalling and installing programs can be annoying if you are lazy like me:P I also reccommend you get ThreatFire and some on-demand scanners like Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware.

  • @2dayCA @2dayCA MSE is terrible, ive done virtual machine tests and it just cant stand up to viruses ive had multiple viruses slip though with no alert or and problem. the top programs to use 1# is ZoneAlarm Extreme Security, everything is vertual, so u cant even possible get infected, i can give u a key to use it if you like. go to their site and also check out languys review of it.HIGHLY RECOMMEND ZONEALARM . and #2 is Comodo.

  • @2dayCA Yes

  • @2dayCA well of course you should switch to comodo,,it goes without saying.mse is only a anti-virus.a good anti-virus i should add .but comodo has the lot....firewall,hips,anti-virus etc.plus its free.i dont of any other security suite that offers this for free..

  • if I only use this as my only security along with on demand scanners, will it suffice?

I'm currently on Avira with comodo defense.

  • @SeekHeart perfectly fine.

  • just for the record julian i dont actually believe you are being biased toward comodo at all.facts of the matter are that this is the best security suite out there no arguments.

  • i have the new premium edition of comodo is4 and i absolutely love this program.i have other comodo products as well and they are great.and its all free which is amazing considering it gives paid for products a serious run for their money.the corporate software companies would learn a lot from comodo and their excellent customer service.best things in life are free.all the best to you.

  • i have a noob question. i use a vpn 256bit encrypted connection, how much does security software come into affect?

  • @wcoldschool well all the VPN does is protect your connection, but you are still susceptible to downloading malware, drive by downloads, java exploits, etc. So even if you have a VPN connection security software is still needed.

  • @languy99 thx for the reply and the videos they are really helpful

  • Wow, you are really thorough and detailed with your reviews. First time i saw someone back checking what was left behind.

CIS 4 would seem to be annoying, because for every virus, there is like 3 things/component that block just 1 virus along with 3 pop ups.

  • Languy, please reply: So, if an ITEM runs in the SANDBOX, you can scan it with Malware bytes etc. But those THREAT you found with COMODO, was they active?

  • @arminkosten No those were in the temp internet folder, nothing was active.

  • @languy99 Okay thanks. Can you review ESET 4.2(Latest) :-)

  • i have this great software.but where do i actually get to see whats in the sandbox??

  • @MrArnold1972 If I remember right anything listed in my pending files it also in sandbox.

  • @languy99 i have sandboxie installed also.should i turn the comodo sandbox off ?many thanks.your vids are great.

  • @MrArnold1972 I would turn it off, it is best to run only one sandbox style application at a time.

  • Comodo w/ Defense + is Fantastic for Prevention.

If malware somehow gets on your system or if you download Comodo to an infected box, it's On-Demand detection rate is slightly better than average. Having SAS + MBAM on your box with Comodo is a MUST!!

  • is this better then avast 5??

  • @MrBibi86 Yep. Lot better I think.

  • @MrBibi86 Both r good but with the sandbox COMODO is better

  • well, I changed my mind, I disabled the option "Run every unrecognized program in Sandbox" its OK now

  • Nice Review

  • no way to use this,it blocked my audio and video driver (VIA, ATI), I install back Avira Personal, only AV but no nasty pop-ups

  • @themetalrock lol it doesen't do that unless you manually block them.

  • it did not slow internet but slow comp a bit ,anybody noticed?

  • i can use it now but it block suudenattack!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Languy99, I tried to Install a Package from WINrar. It says that it runs in a Sandbox, but this Package have no virus. What to do, so I can use PROGRAMS from WINrar. :S

  • Without it blocking it(running in Sandbox)

  • Open CIS, click on the DEFENSE+ button and then click on the MY PENDING FILES item. This will display a listing of all files that have been run as sandboxed, assuming that all sandboxed apps are legit, I select all, SUBMIT them and then move them to MY SAFE FILES.

  • Go to Options/Advanced and select that CCleaner does not keep files newer than 24 hours, that way it will delete that leftover.

  • languy, any reason comodo took up about 80k memory for me?

I ran a scan, after it finished, i let comodo sit, and it was still at about 80,000.

  • did you try to restart the computer, after I installed it did the same thing for me until I restarted and it went back to normal.

  • I tried it, but it still spiked up, no idea what happenned.

  • When you say that Comodo's sandbox blocked a piece of malware, what do you exactly mean? The alert says the malware is being run in the sandbox, but says nothing about it being blocked because it is malicious or not. I assume there's some way to clear out the sandbox?

16MB of RAM usage is amazing...

Overall good overview, although I felt your comment at the end about the Temp file was biased in favour of Comodo - "...A scan sooner or later with Comodo will catch that".

  • the sandbox basically limits the malware from being able to modify anything on the system. It cannot change the registry, modify or add files or anything. What I think happens is that the program stays in ram, and it's gone when you restart.

What I meant at the end is that becasue it is a temp file, it is not important (not running in memory, just sitting there) and when the AV has a signature for it, it will catch it and delete it so there is not much to worry about.

  • I am very Impressed by comodos new sandbox!

  • but i love how biased the ending of this vid is, have any of u seen him use ccleaner or such to clean temp file detections in his vids of ANY other AV's? not me... have any of u seen him really take a look at those MBAM detections in other vids telling u that theyre temp files and no one shuld worry? i dont recall that... Comodo did fine, but ur conclusion is biased as hell.

  • The only reason I ran CCleaner was to show how the install does not popup any alerts. In my past vids you will see I said, they are just temp files no problem, just like I did this time. I feel you are trying to discredit me in someway and if that's what you want fine, you are entitled to your opinion but if something snuck by that was important/dangerous I never hid it, I would hold the program accountable. So nothing is biased you just like to think it is.

  • Nice video, I like how Comodo uses whitelisting.

  • "great for people with slow internet connections"... thats the exact opposite of wat an online installer is good for, its good for peep with a fast internet, cuz peep with no internet or a slow internet typically can get the installer from another computer and have it put onto their computer, having to download the entire program over the net is BAD for peep with slow connections or especially with no connection...

  • actually it is good for people with a slow connection becasue before they would have to download the whole installer if all they wanted was the firewall.

  • is my virus protection good i have

    Nod 32 (paid version)

    Malwarebytes (paid version)

comodo firewall newest one (its free)

    ???

  • I was never really a fan of nod32, in my tests it does ok but not great. Malwarebytes is good. Comodo is good also. But combining all of these together should keep you infection free becasue malwarebytes takes up any slack nod32 has.

  • Ive been noticing a bug with the auto-sandbox feature where it doesn't really run the file in the sandbox. I tried Comodo out in my VPC and it missed a rootkit, the sandbox said it sandboxed it but i still had lots of stuff running, and malwarebytes detected something like 650 infections. is anyone else having this problem? O_o

  • I have not heard of any problems, what I would do is go to the comodo forums and pop up a bug report, they are good about getting back to you and helping you out.

  • @languy99 Actually just went to the forum and saw a few other people were having the same problem.

  • well there you go, I think they will get it fixed soon. Keep at it and with people helping like you are, everyone will have a better program soon.

  • @languy99

Hmm but sandboxie doesnt let anything trough. It´s highly depended on users skills which gives it almost 100% protection. What it seemed with Comodos counterpart was that it let trough awfully lot of spyware. Maybe it´s because of the intrusion of the Anti-Virus and D+ or maybe there just is "holes" in their program.

Never the less, im still using sandboxie; Avira 9; Comodo Firewall (D+) combo.

  • @languy99

    Thanks for the answer !

  • last one :P

    where can I download this?

is it free or is it trial/pay version?

  • I'll send you a message of the downloading links

  • It's free

  • How do you know that Comodo dragon is faster then Chrome?

    How have you experied it?

  • I tried it by myself and compare them two and Google chrome is a real memory hog but COMODO dragon is amaizing believe me just try it

  • I'm using it now ^^

Gonna check the memory usage now

  • I not sure what Google chrome is worse on memory usage or cpu usage but COMODO dragon is good at both it doesn't use alot of them

  • One more Question.

What's the difference between the Google Chrome and the Comodo Dragon?

The only thing i notice is the appearence :P

  • COMODO dragon is alot better than Google chrome in my opinion it's even fater and lighter than Google chrome

  • Dragon also has gotten rid of all the call homes to google that is built into chrome and other security features will come into play soon.

  • So languy99 does that means it not safe?

  • no it is actually safer becasue chrome does not call home anymore and comodo will even add more security to it.

  • So that's owesome

  • Is the Free Version of this better (in you opinion) then the free version of avast?

    //adam

  • Maybe this is a good question

  • truthfully, yes. In the free avast you don't get a firewall or a sandbox. With comodo you do.

  • Does avast 5.0 or comodo has the best detect ratio and removal ratio?

  • I'm not sure but I think from my own test COMODO detects too much viruses

  • How can an Anti Virus Program possible detect TOO MUCH?

  • Too much compare to the others

  • Pending on: If its DETECT False Postives, Like: You download a LEGIT program like Camtasia Recorder, it will detect it as VIRUS.

If its DETECTS REAL virusses, then its good. :-)

  • very nice man you know i installed comodo time machine yesterday and it made my computer unbootable i got a blue screen also what do u think of their new browser

  • I am not a fan of time machine personally so I don't use it. The new browser is good, it is based on chrome with some enhancements. I personally don't use chrome browsers but if you like it, comodo dragon is good.

  • Turn of these translations, they are useless on YouTube xD

  • what translations, I don't see a problem with the video?

  • So, does Comodos sandbox have its own scanner that blocks the infected files??

  • not really a scanner but more of a limiting factor. Kind of like a behavior blocker but not a behavior blocker. The way comodo uses the sandbox is so revolutionary I heard they have applied for a patent.

  • So basically, its just a sandboxie like program combined with Anti-Virus and Comodos other features...

  • not it is totally different then sandboxie. It is really an integral part of Defense + not a separate part of the program.

  • hey languy99 if you open that notepad in google chrome you can just highlight the link and then right click and you can go straight to the page. save you a few clicks from copy->paste

  • But he is trying to use IE, because exploits etc.

  • You are back languy :P

  • I never went away, just really busy with work.

  • hey, anyone problem with this version 4 didi it slow computer or slow internet or srew computer?version 3 screw my comp, tell me pls

  • It ran find on my VM so I would imagine it would run even better on normal computer.

  • Comment removed

  • Comodo did good.

  • 5***** languy99 COMODO is owesome I wonder how vertion 5 would be?

  • version 5 is really a long way off, 4.1 is next and from what I know that is when a true behavior blocker will debut in the antivirus modal along with heuristics.

  • Ok thanks for the information but I was just seeking how the future of COMODO cloud be

  • we had an older version of this and it would have annoying popups all the time, does this one do it?

  • almost no popups anymore, it is very quiet now.

  • finally a review

  • @Languy99,

Very good review. Thanks a lot! I'm really impressed by the new comodo intenet securit version.

Very nice to see you back!

  • have not seen you 4 long time where ahve you gone dude :)

  • have a full time job that sometimes requires me to work over 50 hours a week, combined with 2 hours a day of drive time to get there and you basically have no time left to do anything.

  • comodo is good...but it issues too much certificates to thieves

  • @ebildude123 They issue instant certificates automatically (no checks anyone can get one ) that just digitally sign a site. Godaddy and Verisign also issue the same certificates too the same people ( they actually issue more). This whole thing is a campaign to discredit comodo by its competitors, please get your facts straight before issuing false accusations like this.

  • impressive.....Comodo that is :-)
