Very interesting. I didn't know girls enjoy passing more and solo tricks less. I'm horrible at passing and I like it only in small dosis. I'm also obsessed about improving.
Very interesting. I am not sure if there is a mental difference between male/female when it comes to juggling. I am sure there is a difference in physical strength on the whole. I see no problem with girls performing on stage, every one has artistic rights and there own skill level. I much prefer to see a female doing solo trapeze,,hoops,,poi,,dance,,gymnastics ect. I look forward to you new doc. Good work :)))
I think the first two festivals that I went to, I couldn't really pass very well, but now that I am the president of my juggling club, I basically have to be the best passer that we have, so I got forced into a position where I had to get better at passing.
Now I love it! I'm still not that good yet, but I would love to pass with either of you if I ever see you at a festival!
Great video, I love the different perspective about the thing that I am the most passionate about in my life.
Nice this features some jugglers who were not yet on the scene when we made Trailblazers: Women Who Juggle (OK, still available on DVD). Interesting point about passing-I didn't really feel included as a juggler until I could pass, even though I had no intention of performing in a team at the time.
Great Vid - as a male juggler I relate to this so much - I can pass really well and pick that up so much faster than solo things! I would only ever pass if I had the option!
don't we all Steve =] and i totally agree i have seen some very talented girls and felt attracted to them but seen them as jugglers rather than "girls" (if you get what i mean)
0:55 - people can find you physically attractive and still have respect for you as a fellow human being, take it as a compliment rather than feeling objectified.
You girls are lucky, because at any juggling festival, you can have your pick of any guy in the room. What I would give to be a man in a woman dominated juggling world...
I don't believe that I said that it's not possible for people to find someone attractive and still have respect for them, and I didn't mean to insinuate it either. Unfortunately, I had a time constraint on the video, as well as not having time to gather opinions other than Hanna and myself, so presenting multiple thoughts and ideas and opinions just didn't really happen this time around.
I'm planning on making a full length documentary, so it'll be more well rounded.
@sofiameyer What you said in the video made it seem as if you are worried about being objectified while juggling on stage. My comment was only intended to be a positive confidence booster, suggesting that people find you attractive in a normal healthy way, and I'd hate for you to have to worry about being objectified. I meant it in a good way :) Keep up the awesome juggling videos!
We are happy you are a Juggler :^)
