The ref was banned for taking the bribe. The result should have been overturned. Leeds were also denied by the ref v Bayern Munich in the 75 European Cup Final. I didn't like Leeds at the time, and am not English, don't like racist comments here, but as it happens they were still robbed.

Why hasn't this result been rescinded. The ref was banned as a cheat, the IOC can change placings in the Olympics years after the event if a drugs cheat is exposed, Juventus were recently stripped of the Serie A title when bribery was exposed. These cheats should be stripped of their medals and the surviving Leeds players or nearest relatives given the winners medals they deserved. The Cup Winners Cup is no longer played for, so that could be displayed at Elland Road for at least a year too.
