  • was the velocity the same of even as in the amount of co2 was being dispensed evenly between guns and 1 gun wasnt shooting harder

  • The only thing I cant stand about 50 cal. Paint is that it makes the pain better for noobs cuz all they do is camp and they are a burden for the team so if the pain is unbearable maybe they won't come back come on guys u know u hate noobs

  • Virgins

  • 2:34 you got a good beat going there ;)

  • u cant shoot worth shit

  • Why did you ignore the extreme outlier for the .68 caliber in both calculations. One shot clearly clip the left edge of the cardboard and leave a small mark. Paint can't fly 90 degrees across a target and then curve around you know. Watch the mark appear at 3:09 with no corresponding mark or hole on the cardboard.

  • @snypre we dropped off the extreme outlier on both the .68 and the .50

all the data can be found at MCB under the 50tech section

It's a way to basically drop the paint due to a dimple, bad fill, or who knows.

  • @snypre

I just watched the video and we even state what we did at 4:34 on the video. Check it out in case you didn't watch the whole thing.

  • the only thing that makes the fifty less accurate is the speed it's being shot at. a slower projectile, no matter the size, will be affected by gravity and wind more than a faster one. a 50 cal could potentially be more accurate than a 68, all it needs is a bit more juice.

  • This test was so useless, build your own test gun. at 75 feet the results will be. The same.

it's like comparing a .22 to a 30-06 at 25 yards. different size bullets, different energy's, but there's little difference between the barrels, In theory, .50 cal should be very close to .68 if they have the same amount of energy, at least at 75 feet. at 200 feet things may start to change. sorry to discredit your video. but aside from building your own gun, there really is no accurate way to test this

  • 68cal all the way!!!

  • How about comparing oranges with oranges...you compared a cheap blowback 50 cal to a closed breech 68 cal shocker...considered as one of the MOST accurate guns ever...

compare 50 cal FM50 to tippman 98....see how they compare then!

  • studs.

  • We tried .50 cal back in '86. It sucked then and it still sucks now.

  • Your comparing it to $80 evil of course its going to better.

  • 50cal is the gayest thin i have ever herd of do u now how easy it would be to wipe 50 cal u would be wasting more paint to make a visibile mark on the opest team than u would a 68cal ball

  • how the hell can you compare a gun from the early 2000's and a gun 2009?

  • @pitatv

I know, especially when the gun from the early 2000's performed better. Technology sure has gone down hill. Or maybe it's just the new gun? You decide which.

  • @painthappy no .50 is just shit

  • @painthappy Shockers cost more to in their relative timeframe.

  • Interesting that you chose the shocker. Of all the markers I have owned since '98 (I lost count) I found the SP Shocker (old style) to be profoundly accurate.

  • @Nobodyscake because back then they were true closed bolt... not like all of the open bolt guns who say they are closed bolt. just because all guns fire from the closed position doesnt make it "closed bolt" <me . rant rant rant

  • @pitatv accuracy is determined by the paint quality and inside of the barrel and guns cleanliness. 50 cal has less range so it will spread out at the same range 68 cal is usually shooting tight groups.

  • @pitatv new guns dont shoot better but they r lighter and have a higher rate of fire

  • so the 68 was more accurate?

  • This is gonna be totally adopted by paintball fields so bringing your own paint is gonna be much harder unless it's 50.cal. I can see fields and paintball company's using the new standard caliber to induce spending in the industry. A good example is VHS tapes to DVD and now Bluray. Watch and listen for the hype touting the superiority of the new paint. But the reality of this happening is if the consumer accepts it. Time will tell.

  • To add to my last comment: I also subjected myself to being shot in the back 3 times with the GI50 from 20 yards. The impact stings just as much as a .68.

Why?: .68 (3 g) has the greater mass, but since it is larger it distributes the impact over a larger area.

.50 (1.2g) is light but since it is smaller, it distributes its energy on a smaller area. This is known as "point loading" in balistics & is the sole reason why airsoft stings as it does. The energy transfer of .50 & .68 vary directly.

  • This test is bogus beyond reasonable doubt. Too many variables & they have no proof of chonographing the guns on the video. I have personally shot my friends GI50 spoolie at 280fps in the breeze & it shot straight as an arrow.

  • .50 cal still needs to be improved and perfected... just as .68 cal is very improved over what it used to be im sure.

  • u can hardly tell if your a ref if the player got hit or not

  • LOLLLL .50= crap!!

  • if i ever used 50... only to save oney. rly wish paintball was cheaper right now i wud be able to paintball so much more

  • where i see .50 cal going is NOOB paint. from what i can tell it wont hurt nearly as much as a .68 cal

  • .68 FTW!

  • This video shows just how athletic people who play paintball are hahaha

Honestly I played ball in the CXBL for 2 years and am so glad I got out. I love the sport, but its never going to go anywhere. It's not fit for TV, period.

When I brought my entire family out to events they said they couldnt understand what was going on at all. And that was simple xball..

Play because you have fun but dont expect to go anywhere. Especially in this economy.

  • Who did you play for?

  • Again .50 fails =)

  • you need to do a better test, honestly the guns you were using were crap. The FM-50 had a much shorter barrel then the shocker, you should of used high quality guns

Perhaps an ego with a conversion kit and a standard ego would of been a better test.. or a GI nano and an ego would of been much better.

  • so what happens if im in a close range battle and my .50 balls dont break on my victum? he technically doesnt have to call him self shot? so will the 50's travel further or will the 68's? i got what u ment by the breaking point, but it just doesnt seem an appropriate test for lenght, especially for woods, and any kind of winds, it seems the heavier will travel a more unaffective path than a lighter ball. but i would definately love to be able to prepare my sp-1 for .50's and back again

  • In short:

The .68 will travel further than the .50

The .68 will break further out than the .50

The .50 is more effected by the wind than .68

The .50 breaks are small, and even when they do break, most of them look like splatter and not hits.

I can only see .50 caliber working for the new player market at best, or indoor facilities.

  • its about the shooter not the gun these are 2 different guns so how can you compare?

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO50 CAl

  • and that will prove, no ones need 50cal

  • great job fellas!!

    5 stars

  • DAMN! I missed you using the Fm 50 at AgPaintball? Dang! I knew I should have gone this week!

  • thank you sir you are a god

  • So, did you guys even chrono the guns? Test could be much better. What falls off the gun at 1:25?

  • Yes, we chrono'd the guns. The Milsim gun is at 300 +/- 5 FPS, and the Shocker is 284 to 289 FPS when chronoing.

The thing that falls off is the magazine from the gun. Oops. It just came loose. Time for an upgrade!

  • i love the .50's bouncing off and the .68's going right though

  • nice work guys

  • GREAT VIDEO!!! Thanks so much for doing this and posting it

  • good video but could we get a chrono next time

  • lol at 3:08 that his is like 40 feet off. lol (not a flame or anything i know you had the gun sucure, i just found it funny)

  • i wonder why the spread in this video seemed much larger for .50 then in the other shooting vid when you shot 3 at a time

  • Not looking too good for the .50

  • .68 cal ftw!!! i hate this new .50 cal shyt

  • lmao i like the mythbusters impression

  • u using ultra?

  • Yes, this is the Ultra Evil paint.

  • nice
