Considering I've only heard the original once or twice, I have no idea if this matches up well or not. If not, you made it your own and that's what music is all about. Even still, you did remarkably well... especially since this is your first song. I think your singing was actually pretty good, too. You seemed really uncomfortable singing so high, so maybe try a song that's a little more in your "comfortable range" next.
