@Ah4b This was sadly the first I'd ever seen of Cyborg and everyone from my gym knew who he was and I guess my professor knows him. I know he does something called "tornado guard" and someone has shown me that, but I had no clue what all of the gi and belt pulling from the bottom was. I'm nowhere close to these guys' level and only know a few moves where you use their gi but I know none from that position and couldn't figure out what he was doing. Cyborg dominated that match.
@AnAverageSportsFan Well i didn't mean the tornado stuff. Im not sure if any person can actually perform them because Cyborg is very strong. But he does a lot of half guard and quarter guard also where he passes the gi or the belt between the legs of his opponent and what you were doing looked a lot like that but he wouldn't give you the collar :-)
@Ah4b It's not me going against him in the match. Cyborg is about 100 pounds heavier than I am at competition weight so he'd destroy me. He invited me to come train at his gym. I might go this spring.
I think this was their second fight for open weight. I remember clearly that cyborg did some weird submission by putting his knee on the other guys throat. That's what it looked like from my angle.
@TracedInAir I'm almost positive this was Cyborg's 1st match of the day, I watched him warming up. If his knee/shin was on the guy's throat that would be a gogoplata, and from the angle I was at I really couldn't see why the guy tapped. I just saw Cyborg get on top of the guy and move a bit then it seemed like the ref was just standing them up, apparently the other guy tapped, I had no clue what happened.
@holtrain81 Not sure. I left a little after everyone from my school was done. I know Cyborg ended up winning 2 golds(his weight and the open weight division). This was his first round match from their weight division and most that lost in the first round were done. They may have gone again in the open weight division, I had left by then since I had a multi-hour long drive ahead of me.
0:30 The guy actually wants to try some of Cyborgs techniques but Cyborg give him neither the gi nor the belt to feed in between his legs.

Met Cyborg tho and he was a cool guy. He's huge.

@TracedInAir This was also before they started open weight. I left before open weight for them started.

@TracedInAir I saw that video and I'm pretty sure when he did the shin on throat thing was during the open weight. That submission was nasty.
