@FreqntFlyr 42/16 is probably a good place to start. It's around 70 gear inches and a 2.5 gain ratio. It has 8 skid patches (more reduces tire wear when skid stopping power). It's kind of in the middle of tricks/commute though.  So be prepared to buy a larger cog if you do more tricks or a smaller one if you go fast. Simple solution would be to get a flipflop hub and put a different cog on each side.

I was there last July, unfortunately not with my fixie since I then only had started to ride fixed and kinda didn't want to have myself killed right away. Paris by bike is the best! It took us only an hour from Paris to Versaille and my friend had a shit bike. Love the vid! And Superted's fixie is just coolness!

im not sure if i shoudl get a fixed gear or a single speed, because i liek the idea of the pedals continuosly going around , but like if i was to take a bend to sharp then the pedal would hit the group and then throw me off the bike, which obv doesnt sound so good (N) so shall i get a single speed or a fixed gear ? can someone get back to me on this please ? thank you

nice video ! i wonder why everybody rides such a fuckin low ratio ? i ride 52/17 and if i am racing the cars next to me sometimes it gets very fast to pedal, too. so i cant imagine that its comfortable to ride low ratio. the only thing thats tuff at high ratio is that it fucks ure knees so bad but i dont care lol. btw ive seen a lot of wannabee hipster riders the last weeks and there were riding low ratio, too. i was pedallin very slow after a party but i did them all xD so pls explain.
