@Ebony0Rose Because in actual speed this took all of 2 seconds. It was shot with a specialty camera to capture and slow down the event to give you perspective showing a still frame from standard speed would never give.

Keep in mind that animal is around the size of a Ford Crown Vic. and it's hurling itself out of the water (that requires massive escape velocity) and into the air.

The reason this clip is shown in slo-mo is to demonstrate the sheer power of the animal. Also BBC's Plant Earth.

Orcas are the most aggressive, powerful, cunning and effective hunters that our oceans sport today, and back in 1997 I personally saw an orca kill a shark that was easily a 12 footer, rip it to shreds and eat that shark's liver like my boyfriend tears into a juicy steak!

Some people appreciate the nature world. On top of that, losing a top predator can have dire consequences on the ecosystem. Without the predatory, the smallest prey's population can go unchecked, resulting in overfeeding, then starvation and elimination of other species. It's a cascading effect. And yes, this can have consequences that we can see (i.e. lower amounts of a wide variety of fish).

So yes, it will matter.
