I disagree with the last statement. Many religions were guilty of human sacrifice, killing in the name of religion, that kind of thing. The Abrahamic religions had a believe this or else set of rules, but according to the Bible, the Jews didn't often really pay much attention to their own religion anyways.
Did it really work like that? I imagine so. I'd pick Hades, Apollo, Odhinn, El, etc. Learning about myth is neat but the actual worship would probably lose it's lustre for me quick, unless I was in some really boring city. What did people do for fun in Nineveh anyways?

And those are just SOME of the Greeks listed here. Do your research first.

yeah, i agree. they saw lightning and meteors- and they were scared by it. They had no way to understand weather- so they blamed gods or themselves (gods punishment) when their cops failed. Buddha is not a God. Buddhism is not technically a religion. It's originally, and still is at it's core, a philosophical teaching meant to better yourself and your life. There are no deities in Buddhism. Buddha was a real Man, not born out of mythology or legend.

And the fact that Hindu believers practice both Buddhism and Hinduism goes along with what I said, that Buddhism is not technically a religion.

There are two types of god. One that starts with a nice sounding vowel, or one that starts with a consonant. The exception is Yahweh. Y is the fuzzy area between consonant and a vowel. The name can be interpreted smoothly, or harshly. The thing is you can only say it one way. Most people say it like a vowel because it is smooth, and is not harsh.

well we cant blame our ancestors for coming up with gods,they had no access to d knowledge we have today it ws part of our evolutionary growth,but now we hav realised tht these gods r false nd these religious books r stupid they just contain d info ,the culture,the morality of d people who composed them in thr time nd it contradicts ours,religions needs to be rejected atleast those who r entirely based on d supernatural,i dont reject d philosohpical part of religion

yeah, i agree. they saw lightning and meteors- and they were scared by it. They had no way to understand weather- so they blamed gods or themselves (gods punishment) when their cops failed. Its natural to say "what did I do to deserve this?" But now we know better, and still 98% of the world believes in these nonsense stories.

I wonder how many Christians know how many of these dead gods were born on Dec. 25th, the son of God, mother was a virgin, able to perform miracles, turned against by their own people for a small sum of money, nailed to cross or a tree, entombed, resurrected, went to heaven, etc. About 22 of the same characteristics of about 30 different gods. Ironic, eh?

Not a lot of confidence in this list. Just looking at the A's, Achilles shouldn't be on there, since he was a mortal not a God. And Allah didn't make the list? Looks like this is more of a list of random characters from mythology, not an actual list of gods.

Buddha is not a God. Buddhism is not technically a religion. It's originally, and still is at it's core, a philosophical teaching meant to better yourself and your life. There are no deities in Buddhism. Buddha was a real Man, not born out of mythology or legend.

@thescorpionking2020 Hinduism is a religion. It's entirely separate from Buddhism. While their believers may respect Hindu deities, that does not mean they worship those gods. And the fact that Hindu believers practice both Buddhism and Hinduism goes along with what I said, that Buddhism is not technically a religion.
On a side note, you should really work on your grammar. I had to read your comments literally five times to work out what you meant.

The Bible tells us over and over again, since the beginning of time, MAN has rebelled and turned away from God and worshiped Idols. I think this is what this video is reffering to. But I doubt that they meant to agree with the Bible.
It amazes me how atheists call us close minded, but every christian I know used to be an atheist and studied it, found it illogical.... and this eventually led to finding God.

@brandisify Check the quote at 6:52. The implication is that there have been (and will be) thousands of beings that proclaim themselves gods, and that rejecting one more god won't really make you much better or worse off.
I'm intrigued that your formerly atheist acquaintances could "study" atheism, as the only requirement for atheism is disbelief in a god. That's it. There's no standard other than that.

Every "athiest" I know, including myself, was raised christian (doesn't matter what denomination) over time we saw the ignorance and how religion holds back humanity, sought knowledge rather than feared it, and after a lot of thinking decided there cannot be a god, for as this video shows there have been many religions before the present ones so what makes one true and all others false? The written by man bible? I think not.

There are two types of god. One that starts with a nice sounding vowel, or one that starts with a consonant. The exception is Yahweh. Y is the fuzzy area between consonant and a vowel. The name can be interpreted smoothly, or harshly. The thing is you can only say it one way. Most people say it like a vowel because it is smooth, and is not harsh.
(I had a metaphorical moment there. I need to give weird speeches on this crap.)

'atheists strong point being better documented then christians' ?.. I think the atheist strong point is intellectual supperiority, openmindedness etc etc.. we dont need to be told in writing that we are better then christians or other religious people.
